November 12, 2011 - Magical Double Dip!

Well, I'd been thinking about re-booking onboard while on this trip, and it looks like I have some dates now! :wizard:

Our adoption agency is having a 20th Anniversary party on the Dream next October, :yay::woohoo:

Haven't even been on this one and already looking at B2B combinations for next year, :rotfl:

Nice!!!:thumbsup2 I hope to do a B2B one day!! Nothing wrong with planning ahead....I already have my next 2 planned and already working on 2013 and 2014 possibilities:rolleyes1

We did a B2B in 2008 or 2009 - can't remember which. Eastern then western. It was great - we stayed in the same cabin and had one member of the same serving team (the head server was the assistant server on the second cruise) which worked out FABULOUS because he already knew our preferences. This year, I did the Panama Canal crossing which was the same number of days, but a totally different experience because instead of the dining pattern being repeated, it was 14 different menus. Must say I liked the longer cruise even better that the B2B.

When I called to get the rotations I was told Pirate night was night 5, which is Thursday!?!?!? :confused3

Pirate night has been scheduled for Wednesday (Cozumel day) on both our previous cruises, however on both of them it was switched to Tuesday to accommodate for a longer stay in Cozumel. So on each of our Westerns it was on Tuesday night after leaving Grand Cayman. Well except the first cruise b/c we didn't stop at Grand Cayman due to rough seas, but it was still Pirate night. :goodvibes

So no matter what, you can't really plan for it to be on any particular night! :rotfl:

Don't know if anybody is interested or what you all paid for your cruise but there are actually some 11C's available now, they have been sold out for a while. Hope someone can benefit from this:goodvibes

When I booked this cruise just yesterday, this is what I was told as far as attire for each night:

1st Nt.: Cruise Casual/Port Canaveral & Sea
2nd Nt.: Cruise Casual/Castaway Cay
3rd Nt.: Formal/Sea
4th Nt.: Cruise Casual/Grand Cayman
5th Nt.: Cruise Casual/Pirate/Cozumel
6th Nt.: Semi-Formal/Sea
7th Nt.: Cruise Casual

Hope this helps!

& I did confirm that at least Dining Rotation #3 is: APLLAPL

Night 5 is Wednesday.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Odd!! I KNOW that's what they told me, but I see your point!!

This looks like it may be accurate, but we're at Castaway Cay on day 6, not at sea!!!!!! Thanks for the info!!!

Per the Disney Travel Agents Website (I'm a travel agent) & the DCL Website, this is the itinerary they have listed, which is what I posted above. Castaway Cay is Day 7 (Friday), not Day 6 (Thursday) like you said:

Hope this helps!

Anyone ever done any of the private charters in Grand Cayman?

We did one last time because our submarine tour was cancelled due to some issue.

So we randomly happened across one of the million 'people with signs' and picked one. It was a stingray city tour, but it was on a small-ish boat, and there were only 9 people, crew included. We completely lucked out as it was really amazing, especially when we saw some of the huge boats with tons of people onboard. One of the reasons I don't like the DCL offered excursions, too many people, :goodvibes And Disney is super-cautious on a lot of their excursions as far as age requirements too, so I tend to have to look at alternatives unless I want to do a beach or sightseeing thing. Our little boy was 19 months when we did the independent stingray city tour and he LOVED it.

Just curious if anyone had a company/person they would recommend, as I have no idea who we used last time, :confused3

We did the DCL one on our last trip:

My son loved it, he was 5 at the time, and I thought the crew did a good job with it!! They were great and it was fun!! The kids swabbed the deck, we stopped in the water and anyone who wanted to walk the plank, or dive in could jump in and have a swim!! I did, and it was beautiful!! We may do it again, if we don't do a submarine excursion!!!

Have not read all the threads, but wanted to update...

I noticed today that "VGT" is available. This could of put us in a Verandah and saved my family about $500. DCL will not allow us to switch from Port Hole room to VGT without paying the 20% penalty since we are 67 days out..

Arrgh the pirates stole me booty.....

Any way around it?

Just to get everyone excited, let me tell a little story...

In 2007, when we were set to go on our 4 DC, my wife and I were expecting. I got a call on my cell phone a few weeks prior to the cruise. It was a 407 number so I knew it was important. The person on the other end said, Congratulations, you have been upgraded. We went from Cat. 9 to a Cat 6...

Wow, what a great surprise.

Why did I tell this story? Just to get you all excited and let you know, if you get a call from 407 area code...don't ignore it.

:dance3:

My son will be 11 for this cruise. Anyone else have anyone going into Ocean Quest?

More time to settle in before the meet and greet, sailing and the safety drill!!!:banana::banana:

The kids can start enjoying the pool too I believe!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

If you play your cards right and get on early, it's like having another full day. Get there, eat lunch then head to the pool.

I just stumbled across this thread while browsing the internet. My family will also be on this cruise. This will be our very first cruise ever. We always said if we ever went on a cruise, it would have to be a Disney Cruise, and, voila. My only concern is that it will be so wonderful we'll have to go every year.

My daughter is 18 and a huge Disney fan. I'm hoping that there are things for her to do, since she's in that "in between" age group.

We started in 04 and have been on 5 since. Your right...that is the problem. We want to go every year now.

And now our beloved Magic going to TX :guilty:

I'm out of the loop...

I am caught up with the gift exchange...do we have to register for that? If so, I think we are in.

Also, how about door magnets? Anyone doing them. On our last two, we had the same guy hook us up with door magnet images. Grumpy gramps something like that. We decorate our door anyway, but it would be fun to have a Dis magnet.
