November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

The sacrafices I make for this group know no bounds.

I stopped at a Florida winery on the way home from an out of town trip.

Engaged in a wine tasting to select the best bottle of Florida wine they offer.

How dedicated is that?

Ok, I am not satisfied with the bottle of wine as we have a better selection (this is Florida, we are not known for wine). Not sure if the schedule will allow a trip to the winery I would like....but we will see. however, for now...

Wine for Trip from Florida - check.

Cool! So, how many of us does that make now?? We'll have to make sure we get our day at Kennedy started early so that we can get back in time to meet up with you all!

Oh my gosh, how early are you thinking? :confused3 You know how long it takes me to get ready.

Look my little destination countdown car is almost at the end of the houses. Wahoo! :Pinkbounc

chip&dale&fun-i sent you a p.m.

i imagine we will pull in sometime in the early afternoon. we will probably check out at wdw mid morning then head on over. i understand that we can't sign up for the shuttle until we actualy check-in, so we will check-in/sign up and run around a bit before we have to return the rental car.

i remember the pool being very nice there-so that should keep the kids occupied while we all visit.

Hey Choc_Marg!

Please tell Jeff's mother that I saw her on t.v. I tivo'd the post emmy live show on E! and I finally got a moment to sit down yesterday to watch it. Patrick Stenson interviewed Jeff, his girlfriend and his mom. Please let her know she looked great!!!! I loved the black strapless gown with the shawl. Very age appropriate w/ touch of glamour. The jewels complimented it perfectly. She is a beautiful lady and well spoken. How's awoltoday?? Seen anything?

Hey HouseforSale! You haven't popped in lately. I was about to ask Barkley where you were. Glad to know you're still out there! Where's Favorite Auntie???

the light sticks are for those nights when they may run around on the deck. You will be able to see your firefly running in the wind. When they go to the shows we can always see them because they will be daddy's little lighting bug. For about $10 you will have more than enough (Dollar Tree). I made the kids some i.d, so if they get lost or misdirected contact information is around their neck. The kids love them and they look like backstage passes. Also they can carry their on kttw card with their lanyard.

I don't have much to say when you guy's are off on younger tangents. But then I'm a very quiet and reserved person anyway. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I'm pretty sure Barkley won't know where I'm at, but Choc_marg would. Fact is I get to visit her and DGD and DGS tomorrow.  And I can't write in on Survivor night, much less Amazing Race and Biggest Looser or Top Model. Must confess, I'm addicted to just about all the reality shows. They won't be around forever, so must watch them now. Thanks for looking for me tho. Appreciate you knowing I'm out there. ::MickeyMo

princesshayley'smom-thanks for the tip, i thought you could but the person i spoke to earlier said "no". so i just called and am sched. on the noon shuttle.

thanks for the clarification on the id for the kids. at least when they're on the ship they have those bracelets from the kids club that they can scan and contact parents with. in fact before ds was old enuf for kid's club we talked them into entering him into their system and "tagging" him too-we figured if he snuck off from us at the crew could figure out who he belonged to!

so with glow sticks so popular now-how do you identify your own kids among the "sea of glowing children"? i think i will pack some necklaces i got at a disney outlet store several years back. they have "main street electric parade" on them and the name lights up as well as a little chaser light around it. we've used them for 4th of july and christmas tree lighting events to keep track of each other.

Barley - Do you want an earlier time on the shuttle? I bet when I cancelled my hotel reservation they didn't cancel my shuttle spot. We had 10:30. I can call and switch you if you want it! If you get to the terminal after 12 you stand in the big line - that was my observation at least!

that would be great-could you call and ask them if they can just switch it to us? if they won't switch ask if they will hold your spots that i will call them as soon as you post me to.

duh-yeah that would help! under the name "james fox" party of 4.

May I chime in here? "FOX", is a fine name I might add! That was my maiden name and how I still miss it so! I was not born with a middle name so when I got married to a bozo with the last name of Kontich (Slavic), I made Fox my legal middle name so I can have it forever. :teeth:

PrincessHaleysmom....thanks for the offer. I had to consider it for a minute or two, but I have it already packed and I am checking that suitcase/cooler so no bother too much. Thanks, though! :goodvibes

Wow! I just saw someone mention "one month and two weeks" to go! :cool1: That really got my attention! :earseek:

I so wish we could join you guys at the Radisson...we will be just down the street from you at Ron Jon's (still a secret from the kids) so DON"T MAKE TOO MUCH NOISE, will ya? :rotfl: If the cruise wasn't still a surprise until that next AM, we would be right there with ya'. Am already planning on videoing "the truth" and their reactions! :rotfl2:

Just got an email from Delta...yup, broke and dismal Delta...they have changed our flight home and wanting us to go MCO to Atlanta to Salt Lake to Redmond, Oregon. Sorry! No can do! pirate: I paid extra just to avoid changing planes twice so I called and raised heck. We now leave at 5 pm from MCO back to the West Coast and still only switch planes once in Salt Lake. Bottom Line.....we are splurging and staying Thanksgiving night at Hyatt MCO, flying out the next day at 5 pm. Anyone have experiences with Hyatt MCO and their amenties? Pretty nice from what I can read up on. Sure is expensive!....for staying in an airport! Anyone know how we should burn lots of time at Hyatt MCO the day after Thnaksgiving or at the airport waiting for 5 pm to role around on THE BUSIEST AIR TRAVEL DAY OF THE YEAR? :guilty: Go ahead....write our agenda.....I dare you!.....we will be simply giddy by then......2 weeks away from home and so spoiled from all the fun! MCO Hyatt will probably seem like a silent paradise compared to the Nickelodeon Hotel we will have just endured 5 nights at! I hear it is loud and crazy and thank goodness we'll have a rental car to escape for decent food and other parks/amenties.

STB - Barb was very flattered! We had a Delta Gamma meeting at her house last Monday night. She got back home from the Emmy's at 4:20 & at 5:00 there were 4 of us there to hep her set-up for a meeting with 50 people. Just before we got started, her hubby played the interview for us. He had Tivo'd it for her. I do have to say that the lady always looks like that. Completely pulled together all the time. She is so sweet & so proud of her boys.

Still working on autographs.....

Remember? I was the proud starter of the infamous thread, "Do they PB & J
's on board?" I was so kindly lambashed by parents of kids with peanut allergies as to why it's so important that DCL DOES NOT have peanut butter...just those nasty excuses for a PB & J called an "Uncrustable". :guilty:

I was seriously flamed.....people even went off about their kids' diagnoses of autism as a sidebar. I just sat there laughing my head off :rotfl: reading people's soapboxes! :rotfl:

Thanks for the reminder...I recalled this but was too lazy to search...At the time of the post, it was funny - now with diving - it is necessary.

hey peanut butter fans-if you don't want to lug around a jar, skippy sells "squeeze sticks". the box has about a dozen sticks, each about 1 oz.. you just open at the top and it easily squeezes out.

i do know they have peanut butter on board-it's always right next to the jams and cream cheese at the toast/bagel bar each morning.

Thanks - the PB on board will work.....bread and PB before a dive...a must have....

Rotten luck but at least you have a flight. As far as what to do at the Hyatt - I have been there many times, a poplular conference hotel. Always was late rushing to catch the plane... Then for those times when the plane was delI rented a car to go home. So not sure I can take you up on the dare, but I'll get you started

#1 - SLEEP LATE - until 10:00 at least.

#2 - Have a LATE Breakfast...

ok - your turn..

DisNurse - since we are flying now, we have a van picking us up and stopping at the grocery store on the way to the port. Do you want me to pick up your soy milk for you so you don't have to lug it on the plane? I wasn't sure how you were getting around once you got to Orlando so just wanted to offer as there is 7 of us to carry whatever we get! It's hard enough with suitcases going thru the airport!
You can get those glowing necklaces in a case of 50 from the Oriental Trading Company. I looked for anything smaller and they don't carry it. We'll just bring our little light that we got from the Magic Kingdom that goes round and round. I don't know why we need these - last time we were on this cruise we were in bed by 10 every night so we missed out on the late night fun! But not this time!

This caused me to remember that there is a PUBLIX about 2 miles south from the Radisson (it is north of Ron Jon's if I recall) for anyone else that needs to stock up once they get into port.

What is up with the Ship's time???? This is what the Blue Island says on their site......

Many Cruise Ship Divers have previously missed their dive trip because they were unaware that the "ship's time" is not the same as the time in St Thomas. Please understand any arrangements made are made on local time in St Thomas time only.

So, what time is ship's time vs. island time which is Atlantic Standard time? Earlier???? Later????

And is it true that everyone on board ship must be cleared before we can go ashore?

I guess I should not worry as this drill happens every day, several times....

Just curious  and excited!

Have we already talked about Pirate Night? I can't remember... I just got William the Jack Sparrow Pirate Costume from Disney this weekend. I figured he could wear it for Halloween, Pirate night in November, and next November if they still have pirate night. He looks adorable in it. Now my fear is that he will want to wear it every night to the dining room!!!
