November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

princesshaleysmom-have fun at disneyland, will this be your first trip or have you been before? what itinerary is your rcl cruise? we did our first cruise (we refer to it as our "taster cruise") for our honeymoon (15 years in march '06) on ncl-san diego, catalina and ensanada. given that it was in march and there was some rain, i remember loads of east coasters being very surprised (and angry) that california is not hot and sunny 365 days a year.

i will hope for you (and ourselves as well) that this terrible heat wave will break for your vacation. at least you will be traveling when the majority of california kids have gone back to school and the park will be less crowded :teeth:

disnurse-i agree with the yucks on an early breakfast! but then we rarely make it to breakfast on cruises (we're big on hanging the order form on the door for coffee, muffins, cereal and milk-we do coffee on the verandah while the kids sleep, then when they wake up they do cereal thing while we get dressed). on the length of time for dinner (i've seen that thread too)-i've never had this experience on dcl. the meals are liesurly, but not nearly as drawn out as we experienced on holland america. if you are concerned with the kids, know that the wait staff is realy good about bringing the kids entrees out early if you ask them-then if they want to go off to the kids club one of you can take them in between courses. in fact one of the reasons we chose late dining was to offer the kids the choice of eating with us or having dinner earlier at the buffet. we did this on our last dc and it seemed to work realy well (of course they also loved eating earlier to justify room service when we got back to the cabin later).

i'm traveling via disney vacation club as well-so i can't volunteer to link the ressies.

chip&dale&fun -My husband will be happy to talk to you about work. He loves to talk. You may have to tell him to shut up.

This is our first trip to Disneyland. I am sure the heat there can't be worse than down south in GA! We have had close to 100 degree temps plus high humidity!
Our cruise departs from LA and sails to San Diego, Ensenada and Catalina Island. From what I've heard - it's a real party cruise.... than again, most of the 3 and 4 night cruises are!

I could try to link everyone's reservations if you want. I will just need your booking# and last name. Not sure if they will let me since I am not the agent on record, but I don't mind trying. Then if they screw it up you can hunt me down and beat me with your souvenier cup.

boy you guys have been busy. I am a bus operator for Chicago's Transit and my wife is a med tech for the University of Chicago Hospitals. We plan to stay at the Pop on Disney. We will get in on the 9th. Dis nurse. I planrto book a table at palos for the wife. I hope she will have a girl day lunch. If you want you and a few of the other girls can join her. We men can watch the kids for the short time that you may go to brunch. Let me know because I should be able to book it on the 13th. She doesn't know so this will be a surprise for her.Lets sell the extra bands for $10. I think we can do this if we show off the band at the right time. Supply and demand it can work.. I keep telling the wife that I will not dress up but I think that I will.

count me in on the surprise brunch for your wife-just let me know which day you book for. i agree that the bands could cause quite a stir on board, just to prevent any problems with "selling" on board we may want to offer them up as a freebie with a $10.00 cash donation to the "11/12 dis board margarita relief fund" :drinking1 :teeth:, shoot-if we order some glow sticks and pirate novelties we may all be able to fund rebooking deposits before we hit the first port :bounce:

princesshaleysmom-nothing is worse (in my opinion) than any kind of heat associated with humidity :crazy2: i will take my dry 103 degrees over any of your humid days in the 90's or higher! i cannot fathom how the cast members at wdw manage to function in some of those costumes-our first trip to florida was an early october and i could not belive how it was stayed so hot and so wet 24 hours a day!!!! at least here it cools once the sun goes down! have a great time at disneyland-and you will love catalina (perfect place to just stroll with a stroller and enjoy the breezes). i'll get my booking number and name to you in the next few days-any rotation on late dining is fine with us.

I'm going to try to do it on one of the sea days sunday or monday. She will be able to slip away and the kids can stay at the pool with me.

You know how I previously reported that "we" are saving Palo for our DCL Nov, 2006 adventure? Well...that is true...but a surprise Palo brunch with just a deserving bunch of awesome women is a different story! :wizard:

I could make time in my day to make THAT appointment and I would feel well deserved of it! Plus, it would allow some first dining seaters and second dining seaters be able to meet! I guess I am really appreciative if you can truly make that link for us all......even for those of us who are "Titanic sink hole" sailors who can't make reservations until almost September! :guilty:

Anyone else interested? I am very excited to have a ladies' day out! :cloud9:

What all is involved with collected those interested and linking the ressie?

On another note, I am also willling to head the "late seating" diners but my TA is out of the country until late August and I am pretty insistant in trying for PLAPPLAPP :wave2:

Does anyone know if you are going to make a rotation request when is the best time to do so? :confused3

You want to call the Cruise Line to see if they will let you - when we need to do this etc? If they say no, oh, well.

DisNurse would like a specific rotation and I don't know how many requestes, the mouse computer will honor.....her TA is out until the end of August if I read her e-mail correct. Thanks. :wave2:

I just paid off my cruise!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Now we have, a paid for cruise, a hotel for the couple of days before & our rental car to & from the airport. Looks like excursions are the next focus :confused3

DisNurse - can you get a PLAPPLAPP? That is nine nights and we are on a 7 night cruise :rotfl2: I thought it would be PLAPLAP???? That said, I am not sure if this is current - but check out this link http://www.new-horizons-travel.com/our_tips.htm

You get the choice of PLAPLAP - APLAPLA - LAPLAPL
according to this table. Hope this is helpful.... :wave2:

OOPS! I guess I am WISHING we were onboard for 9 nights and getting a little ahead of myself. No one should feel pressured to request what we want...just letting you all know that is what we will be shooting for! :flower:

When I linked reservations with another DIS family before, we called our own TA's ourselves. I think that would be the easiet. We found another family with a little boy of similar age, and we linked and sat together at dinner. It was great fun! I really don't think linking EVERYONE's dining reservation is that good of an idea, if that is what you are talking about.

I am all over the place on excusions and cannot make up my mind. :confused3 :confused3

We have booked rental cars at both islands as we enjoy the on your own travel, esp. for the first visit. Not sure about that missing the boat tips I have read. The ecotour sounds fun and we are scuba certified so there is that option.

The tandem parasailing sounded fun, but not sure we will make the weight limit at the end of the cruise. :rotfl: Snorkling sounds fun, but you need to wear a BC....hum

Must narrow down the options... :rolleyes1

For the palo brunch, I will make the reas for the large table. When I get the number of seats I will let you guys know. It will be on a sea day, sunday or monday.

Choc Marg

I saw that you will also be staying at the Radisson on the 11th. Perhaps we can all meet up and start a pre-sailing celebration. Also, could you please add one more large band to my order making it 2-large 1-medium and 2-small. Thanks.

Gotcha fairydismom. band order updated!

We'll be at Kennedy most of the day on the 11th, but I'm up for a pre-meet with you & jaypd and anyone else who will be there that night!

BTW, I'm having issues with Reminderband at the moment. Even though I used "free public" fonts & clip art, they are saying that I can't use them without violating Disney's licensing agreement & they have to have a letter from Disney allowing me to use any of it (including the word "Disney"). I'm not happy about it, but will concede the art/font if I absolutely have to, but I think "DisneyCruise" is essentail to have on the band. So, I have another note in to them & I'll let you all know where we stand next week!

we may have to leave the word disney off because of the copyright laws. [Magical cruise 11-12-2005] could be an option . Just in case we need some thing else.

Thanks sounds great! The girls are looking forward to checking out the pool so I know that is where we will be. I am sure that my husband will be looking forward to talking football.
