November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

I haven't been on here since before the holidays, but wanted to let you guys know that baby Alex arrived on Monday, January 15th. He was 4 weeks early, but is perfectly healthy - just tiny! He was 5lbs., 6 ounces and is totally adorable. Haley on the other hand thinks he should go live with Nana & Papa! Any suggestions on dealing with the jealous older sibling? The baby is great - easy even. Haley is a challenge!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! we were just talking about you the other night and wondering how you were doing. hey don't knock 5/6- dd was born right on her due date and weighed 5/7-and ds was born a week and half past his and came in at 5/3 so i think as compared to ours your guy is a biggun.

can't offer any suggestions on jealous older sibs-dd was thrilled with the arrival of baby brother-but despite that thrill she still had her own stress and adjustment issues (as in she already had the habit of pulling 'fuzzies' out of her designate 'blankie'-but with the arrival of baby brother if blankie was'nt available she took to pulling out her own hair to stroke:scared1: ). yup we have photos of dd with new baby bro at the hospital-nice shoulder lenght hair-then photos a month or so later and she looks like she's in need of donald trump for comb over ideas:rotfl2:

so glad everything went well-keep us up to date!

Congratulations! We want pictures! ;) Okay, when you get a chance. DD was also born 4 weeks early on Jan 15th (1999). She was a fattie though at 6 lb.s, but lost half a pound in the next week. I remember how teeny weeny that was and it's hard to imagine now with the attitude she's giving me these days! We took a picture of her in a shoe box she was so tiny. Enjoy that little guy and let us know how he's doing and what he's up to! When is he cruising next?

How does Haley respond to responsibility? Some kids really enjoy being in charge of taking care of the baby (rocking, burping, swaddling, singing/dancing for, etc.). Just don't put her in charge of impersonating Michael Jackson!

Thank you sooooo much for letting us know......I was thinking about you yesterday, wondering how things wer and here you are playing with little Alex...how totally magical.....Love him, enjoy him....:grouphug: for Haley in having a little brother. Tell her she is sooo lucky to have a baby brother...I never had a little brother and I am just so jealous of her. (even if she would rather have a puppy).

Hey girl!......sooooo happy for you and your newly expanded family! I was waiting patiently to hear about any news from you but have to admit I have been away from the Boards cause I have been working like a mad woman in the NICU picking up extra shifts so I can continue to help pay off my extreme habit of vacations! I am so glad you had a happy, healthy little guy and as far as Miss Haley......well, such is life and she needs to be thankful that she has such great parents! I would have a sit down talk with her myself, but unfortunately I am many thousands of miles away from her jelous little being! She'll get over it and I say you ought to be sooooooooo thankful for two healthy little creatures that you can almost sit down and semi-rationalize with an almost 4 y.o that she is sooooooo lucky, so buck up!

I am currently awaiting a quote from either Dreams Unlimited or someone else on what a West-bound Repo cruise would cost in May, 2008! Anyone else interested? We would have to take the kids out of school, of course....but it could be a chance of a lifetime! I am obviously addicted to the Magic if I already have the Nov. 2007 cruise booked and am contemplating the Repo cruise!?:scared1:

Am I crazy?
I would have to start saving NOW and hope that the school doesn't flunk my kids!:confused3

I have my TA all set to grab us a room on the West Bound in May 2008 - it is either the West Bound in 2008 or a June 8 MR. But how can I pass up the PC crossing again? And we have to go in May because the east bound is during Huricane Season, and do not mean football....

So, if you are interested, you may wish to consider booking early. Last time rates went up $$$$ after the first day....

So, you did the westbound Repo last time? I guess I knew that but have forgotten. If you did, what was so worth it for you? Did you love all of those Sea Days? DId you like Aruba? Puerto Vallarta? Cabo? Were those really worth all the fuss?

I should have our TA get us going the day they go on sale....I will email her tomorrow!

What was there to do in the evenings as far as shows and entertainment for all of those extra nights?

Thanks for any info.....

Sorry for the confusion. I did not do the westbound last time, I am planning on doing it this time, so we may cruise together again. Don't know about ports, it will be a new adventure....The only hint I know so far, is IF you are serious, then provide a deposit to your TA so she can snag the rates as soon as the go on sale. Apparently, last time, the rates rose during the time the rates were posted and the TAs called back with the deposit. It may just be a rumor.

I cannot resist the PC crossing --- for what is posted as $100 more than a 7 day. Of course, we still need to see the final prices......We will know in a little over a week.....(sticker shock, perhaps?)

Gongratulations!!! Welcome to Alex!!! We should plan his first curise!! We can start a baby fund!!

Just wanted to let some of you know I received a mailer today! The West Coaster is coming in 08! Not sure if anyone is interested in the Mexican Riviera. It said bookings begin Jan. 31. We may look into it. It would sure save on airfare for us.

We leave for a fun day at Disney on Wednesday! Love those no school days!!

Hope everyone is doing well and happy!!

Well little Alex likes to provide us with excitement. When we went for his check up on Friday, under the doctors lights, he was a lovely shade of pumpkin. Not thinking the # was too high considering it was only 9 when we left the hospital 2 days before, we go to get tested. It was very high (bilirubin). So we were admitted to the children's hospital and got to stay there all weekend and stare at him under the lights. The doctors ran many tests to make sure there wasn't anything else wrong with his liver but finally decided that since he's such a little peanut and was early - that was reason enough for the jaundice. He's been on the lights here at home since Sunday afternoon and we are leaving in a few minutes to go get his levels checked hopefully for the last time! No rest for the weary around here!

As for his first cruise, Haley already told him, "mommy is taking me and you on the mickey boat after the summer time Baby Alex. You can't play in the kids club or the swimming pool but I can". Hopefully Haley will come thru with the funds to pay for this cruise!

I don't know how to attach a picture or I would post one of little Alex - anyone care to tell me how?

Persistant juandice is bummer, huh? That diagnosis alone keeps many newborns in our NICU and DIS NURSE working! I feel for you, though....and am glad it was just straight forward, good ol' fashioned pumpkin skin! I am assuming he had an IV with fluids, too (for "wash out" as we call it).

We have decided against the 2008 Wetsbound REPO cruise......just too hard of the kids' school situation and wrecks plans for Maui on Spring Break next year. This next Disney Cruise may be our last but ya' never know!:rotfl: I honestly thought we would only do one and here we are going on our third!

DH is doing GREAT! Back up to running and is cross country skiing in the mountains as I type this. He looks at fattening food (even any lean red meat and/or pork and/or "Low fat" ice cream and just about has to leave the room! ) He had a serious shock collar placed around his neck and isn't forgetting it anytime soon! We are eating soooo much healthier! Funny thing is, LOTS of people can eat a moderate amount of saturated fats (eggs, meat, sauces, ice cream) and have no problem not clogging thier arteries. If you are delt the genetic bad hand, however......watch out!

We have learned a big lesson around here!

Taker care, all!:goodvibes

We're all cured here! Alex had his 2 week check up today and the doctor said his color is "very wonderful". Weight is up to 5lbs, 13 ounces - that's up 10 ounces since we left the hospital last Sunday! We may make it to 6 lbs yet!
He did have IV fluids in the hospital - I insisted on it!

Glad to hear Mr. Disnurse is healing nicely! He scared you guys! Glad you are all healthier and doing well!

Hello to everyone! Glad to hear baby Alex is feeling better!

After nearly 3 hours of busy signals and being on hold, we are confirmed for May 08' West Coast:yay:

Looking forward to being able to drive up the same morning and not have to worry about the airport:cool1:

Is anyone coming to the West Coast:goodvibes

I just looked up the prices for the West Coast cruise and nearly had to have a tank of oxygen delivered to me! Needless to say, we won't be going! I am sure you will have fun though!

congrats 4campers! i can't begn to imagine how nice it would be to cruise from a port close to home.

no cruisin for us in the near future-except 'land cruisin'. dh is off sunday to explore the eastern part of washington state, then will turn around with me and the kiddles prez week (they have the whole week off so no schoolwork to schlep along:thumbsup2 ) to take the train up to olympia washington to check out the western parts. we're intent on moving by the end of the school year-and at this point it looks like washington will be the place.

Hi guys - glad to see that we are still posting....I am pondering 2008 options....will post once I know for sure...

There is a thread that has everyone posting which CAT and how much. Very interesting. There are people who are paying over $11,000 for the repo trips!! There is even someone doing both::yes:: East and West:thumbsup2
We got a CAT 5 for 6,500. I know it's alot, but we don't have to add air, or hotels. Plus, my girls will be older! No taking diapers this trip;)

I'm thinking the margarita's will be extra tasty::yes:: Si!

I'm sure Jessica can understand all this better then myself, but the pricing was so different depending on what date/CAT your in, or if you had rebookings etc. I'm not up on all the terms but, it was a bit confusing to say the least.

We are looking forward to our Alaska trip which will be in May. Looking forward to spending a week in Vancouver prior to sailing. Just hope the weather lets us see the sights.

Enjoy your day everyone:grouphug:

who are you cruising alaska with?

when you go to vancouver check out the kid's mall-it was pretty cool. and though it's pretty hokey-the kids realy loved the lumberjack show in ketchikan (and they will happily direct you to the family friend pub in town that has 'martinis on tap':rotfl2: ).

make sure to take an extra suitcase-if your dd's are anything like my kids the only souvineers they will want are all those darn 'cuddle buddies' (we had a whole suitcase of brown bears, black bears, polar bears, moose, seals, whales....). we ended up going to the mail boxes etc in ketchikan and boxing them all up along with our coats (it was the last port) and mailing the whole shebang back home rather than having to schlep it back.

We are taking RCCL. Should be nice and we got a suite this trip::yes::

Thank you for all your tips! I'll have at least 2 martinis! One for me and one for you:upsidedow Hey, how'd you get up there:rotfl:

The mailing back boxes is a great idea:thumbsup2 What month did you go? I know May is early and we take a chance on it being extra cold:cold: But, I like the earlier trips and the prices are much better.

Any way, I'm getting very excited about it. Just have to get the house sitter all lined up and hope she gets along with the cat:bitelip:
