Does anyone know if I can personally cancel my Hyatt if I went thru a TA? I'd sure love to get that $80 rate instead of my $151 to help pay for that upgrade, but I don't want to deal with an irate TA!

Melanie, just remember, that travel agent WORKS FOR YOU....you make any blasted changes you want any time you want.....you hear me, young lady? Call you agent and say "get me that $80 rate!".

..........wow....can you tell I'm still in work mode? Such a nice, unassuming, middle aged lady (who you calling a lady) in real life.....a DRIVER at work ::yes::

SURLEY....no spankings here....I'm the GIVER of spankings, not EVER the receiver....got that? One of my favorite lines from "MP and the Holy Grail"...."everyone line up for spankings!"

Hmmmmm, feeling the need for a little MEXICAN food for din-din, wonder if Peg and Jose have eaten yet?

the 'contract' page and the dreaded Credit Card page....
(it did give me a place to pay for everyone else in our group but I said NOOOOOOOOOOO)
Hey, I'm in your group! Go ahead and check off my name for authorizations!!! Just check off that little box next to Bonnie J -- or even better check off for my dds since they'll be the ones wanting to spend the most! :)

mom2of2
get this....on the 18th my DS8 has his first soccer game at 10:30 AM!!!!

The low rate can only be gotten thru the specific website mentioned....and when I was goingto book the Hyatt many months ago, they had a strict cancellation policy.
Check with your TA before attempting to get the lower rate (it is not a guarentee you will get the Hyatt at that rate) ....FWIW, peace of mind is worth more then $80.

please don't give Mom any ideas about putting pork roll in the tagbags!

I called her earlier and Pops answered the phone, he said that Mom was neck high in packing and was currently sitting on her suitcase...I didn't ask for any more details.

He sounded awful chipper so I asked if he was happy she was leaving for 2 weeks and he replied with a very loud **** YES! :rotfl:

I told mom he sounded too happy and she said that she asked the neighbors to make sure that nothing went out of the house that wasn't suppossed to (the neighbor DH is his partner in crime)

On another note: Mom is packing her Grumpy p.j.'s and plans on wearing them to get coffee on deck 9 at around 6am. Just a word of warning people.

Lauri, thanks much! I will try there tomorrow. I can't take anything else because I am still nursing my son. Thanks again

I think I'm going to LOVE your mother!

Look for me wandering around in my Tink sweatsuit (but not at 6 a.m.!)

Phoeberella,
It warms the cockles of my heart when I hear women are breastfeeding! Happy, happy, happy! I'm in my fifth straight year--my DD turns 3 next week and she still nurses. Alot! Anyway, she was, of course, nursing last year when we went and I suffer from any kind of motion--car, swing, boat. I started taking ginger the week before the cruise and continued on thru the cruise. They are fine for nursing moms. I also wore the bands but I'm not so sure how great they were. I was also told I could take Bonine--NOT Dramamine. Which was fine since Dramamine makes me sleepy, even the non drowsy. I still got quite ill the first night but was fine by morning. I just wanted to let you know there are other alternatives. Lots of folks swear by just chewing on gingersnaps. Check with your lactation specialist if you are uneasy about the bonine or ginger, but I did it with DD last year and doing it again this year with no problems.

There must be some movement going on in the lower decks, upgrade wise. Either paid or pixie dust upgrades. I just checked and Friday there were seven Cat. 6s left. Just now, three of those are gone but four more were added. Total of 8 available now. Same Cat 5s available (except the one I switched to) plus one making 8 and absolutely no changes in the 4s. I would think there might be some complimentary ones given or some paid available at the port at this rate.
Here are the ones available as of now in 4,5,6 in case you want to scout locations to ask about upgrading at port:
4 - 8588, 8590, 8592, 8002, 8502, 8000, 8500, 8006
5 - 7546, 7036, 7536, 7534, 7032, 7532, 7596, 7526
6 - 6110, 6618, 6570, 6564, 5630, 6584, 6590, 6556

I hate disappointing or upsetting anyone so I REALLY didn't want to ask my TA to do this since I feel like I bug everybody enough as it is. (Is that a Southern thing?) But I also REALLY wanted to save that $80. So I called the Hyatt and they were SO nice--said I could cancel with no penalty and the TA wouldn't get a nasty letter dunned or anything. So I said I'd call them back when I figured out Hotwire, just in case. Computer was too slow to do it, so I called Hotwire and it was so painless and easy! Got the very same thing for $72 + tax = $86!! Down from $151 + tax! Called Hyatt back, cancelled, took 30 seconds and I was done and felt so proud and thrifty!
Let's just hope now it doesn't come back and bite me in the butt. (I'm such a glass half empty kind of gal...)

Melanie,
Wow, thanks so much for the info! I looked on kellymom and couldn't find any info on dramamine or such, so just thought the sea bands were my only choice. I don't love ginger, but it is worth a try and good to know the bonine is ok! I will bring some just in case. This forum is just the best! I mostly lurk, but you guys always seem to have answers for anything. I will be on the lookout for lime green while onboard! See you around ship!

Melanine,

Great job on the Hyatt savings. I'm sure you'll find a way to spend that saved money on the cruise.

So ladies, I spent the night trying on outfits for formal and semi-formal nights. :faint: . I told you I was a last minute packer! DH and DD definately do not agree on what looks best. I'm going to need some pixiedust: to help.

Only 5 days till we :sail: ! (I'm just having fun playing with the smilies).

but after changing internet providers and going through two new computers, I am at last able to check in and try to read most (but not all of the posts). Although I haven't been able to get to know you all from these boards, I look forward to meeting you on board as our paths cross.
We have experienced pixie dust with an upgrade from cat 9 to cat 6. I think it is due to a wonderful castmember in the itinerary planning office at the Yacht Club. We will be spending Friday night there, as I wanted to treat my Mom like a queen for one night and I booked a concierge level room. Mom had spent the last year and a half caring for Dad before he passed away and the trip is my way of thanking her for all that she had done for Dad and the rest of the family. Anyway, the lady from the Yacht Club has planned some surprises for us as well. We will be taking a fireworks boat cruise during Illuminations on Friday night. I also had to email a photo of Mom to Disney. I am not sure what they are going to do with it, but someone told me that they show it during Illuminations (anyone familiar with that?). The best thing, however, is that I have kept the whole night at Disneyworld a secret from Mom and from my two children. They might figure it out when we get on the Disney Magical Express bus! I didn't even tell my husband because I didn't want him to let the secret slip! I just couldn't keep it all in and I had to tell you.....I know that none of you will let the cat out of the bag ;)
I hope everyone has a safe trip to the port and may you all find some pixie dust along the way! :goodvibes

Okay I went to hotwire and it does not specifically say that the hotel is the hyatt. It does say that once booked it is not refundable. I am a little nervous about this. How do you know for sure that it is the Hyatt?

I believe someone posted that it's the 3.5 star WITH tennis.

Happy Birthay Jackie! :goodvibes

I was going to try and post this after midnight to hit your actual birthday, but I don't think I can make it---please accept the good birthday vibes anyway.

Mom2of2, I can't wait to meet your Mom and check out the grumpy pj's. At least I'll recognize her! You gotta love a woman who's passionate about her pork products. I myself have a life-long love affair with bacon, sausage, and ham.

Miatmel, great job on the Hyatt take-over! Always keep the bird in the hand until you skewer that hotwire in the bush. Thanks too for the upgrade tips.

Lauri, I'm from near Penn State. Only about 4-5 hours from you. As I've been (and am) out of town, I don't have any information on Joe Paterno (which is what everyone keeps asking, even in Newport RI). I hope he's doing well, but those who saw it said it was an extremely nasty injury.

It's almost Tuesday -- talk about single digit dance, we're down to single-hand dance!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Elaine

Mrs. Greenjeans, I did the Illuminations boat ride last year and really enjoyed it! It's very interesting to see the show from that perspective. ::yes:: Have a wonderful time surprising your family at WDW.

Thanks for the birthday wishes....I've still got almost an hour till it's official here ;) My team-mate and I tried to convience the bosses we should have a FOUR hour lunch tomorrow....I don't think it worked though :confused3 Heaven knows she deserves it after all the work she's had to do on political, and my birthday seems a good (yet secondary) excuse.

Just chatted with Faireygod Mother on the phone and I got soooooo tickled when we hung up saying "See you Saturday". :banana:
