ok...i did it ....i ordered a basket (sand pail) for the kids from shirley....the eager mom in cruise mode beat out the cheap woman in me!!! :cool1:

now what to tell the hubby...it just "magically" appeared.... :rolleyes1

I just ordered mine as well and they couldn't have been nicer. I can't wait to see the baskets! If you haven't done so yet it's not too late!

The lady I spoke to let me know that today they had just received a shipment of lots of pirate stuff. It could be a great opportunity to have some stuff for pirate night in the room when you arrive.

I was just trying to run a total of the number of DISers I have met in the 'real world'. It's just around 75! Though 40ish were all at once when the WISHWALKERS did the '04 marathon. Then there was a DIS meet in Phoenix of about 8 of us. Then there was the October trip with the kids from the Tagliarchy thread (8 of us). Then some assorted solo ladies we met for drinks while at WDW in a couple of different trips. THEN I've met four of you wackos this year! And in all those folks there was only ONE I wouldn't go out of my way to see again.............

Any news about the final distag count? Have a great day everyone! :cheer2:

The last I heard last night on chat it was 20, but that needs to be confirmed by the powers to be... :teeth:

does anyone know if they serve the same food both days at CC? not to be picky but that may get old....

You can always go by my motto.. Since I don't have to buy and prepare it and clean up after it all I don't care what it is. :rotfl2:

Suzanne,

The Monday night games are on ESPN, but the Sunday night games are on NBC. The reason they moved this game to national TV is the Bears should be undefeated and the Giants most likely will be the next best team. Also, since it will be NY vs Chicago, NBC will get more TVs tuned to watch the game.

Hopefully it will help me to not miss what could be the most important game (if the Giants win) of the season.

Jack

Oh Jack, leave the sports home and enjoy the eveing with your wife and a nice glass of wine.

We're a bit more open to it than some might be, as this is not the first online group that we've made plans to meet with in the "real" world. When we bought our first popup camper back in 2001, we signed up with a popup camping club. We went on our first outing that year and have been camping with the group ever since. :) We have met some wonderful people and have made some great friends because of our activity with the group. Some of these folks we count amongst our closest friends...and they're now going on the cruise with us! (Bob & Melanie - aka obx1ab) :) :woohoo: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Our first online group meet turned out well, so there's no reason to think that you folks will wind up being a bunch of crazy, axe toting yo-yo's...right?!!! :yo-yo: :scared1: :tiptoe:

Surely are a trusting person of this group of crazy, axe toting yo-yo's  Wait did I just also call myself that. Well to be in agreement with you I think that this group sounds like they are going to be a blast to be with. :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :woohoo:

This would be my whole family. I catch a lot of grief over the Dis boards and when I came home with a lime green boa, I thought they would die. I will be the one in the terminal that looks like she is traveling alone. :rotfl2:

Two of us will be right there with you.......... :cool1: Here we are after a couple of drinks :dance3: Great dancers and very limber at this point. :goodvibes

Last year I spent about $110 on baskets for DH and DDs. They were nice and all, but lots of money for plastic sand pails and a little candy and trinkets. (I mailed some stuff ahead to add to personalize it). I just really wanted the "experience" of having them open the door and having gifts inside. But it really was alot of money. So this year I did something different. I bought the clearance buckets and sand shovels (MAYBE $2.00) at Wal-Mart after summer to put in my ship-ahead box. Then I went to jenniferjonesdesigns.com and ordered those beautiful costumes--a Peter Pan for my Peter Pan obsessed daughter (and I mean OBSESSED--not Tinker Bell, but Peter Pan! We even had to recreate Never Land in our backyard, pirate ship and all) and the mermaid for my DDalmost3. They are beautiful--hand made in Bali (I have bought a mermaid for oldest daughter years ago). They will be from Peter and Ariel when they get there--they are expensive, but for just the $ more, they have a keepsake that will last lots longer and be maybe even more exciting for them (I hope!) and she can wear Peter on Pirate Night instead of her costume, if she wants.
Just my .02, of course...

Jack - I am sure the game will be on somewhere!!! They do have NBC in the cabins. Good luck! :woohoo:

As for the axes and the yo yos I thought this cruise had a pirate theme and I planned on going with the sword and the wacko plan. pirate:

As for my DH yes he thinks I am nuts and he has no clue why I read the boards every day and why I am "talking " to people I don't even know But I know he will meet everyone and have a great time!! I love to laugh and I have gotten alot of laughs from these people I don't know and even more in chat. Then again to see me alone at midnight laughing out loud at my computer screen is pretty funny too! So i can't wait to meet everyone and I will bring my camera in case any of you forget what you did on the cruise I will post pictures to remind you , No charge..... Speaking of pictures where is that picture of Surley?? :stir:

As far as how to recognize each other I think the dancing and jumping up and down shouting we are here should let others find you! :yay:

Well I just got off the phone with my mom. She finally told my Pops that she was coming to Florida and going on a cruise. His reaction? "Do I HAVE to go?" :rotfl2: Mom told him no, so he's all good although I think he's secretly planning on calling for a dumpster on the 8th!

I also told Mom about DIStag and lime green boas. She asked where she could get one..... :rotfl2: Just what I need!

So 2 weeks from tonight my Mom will be here and I can't wait!

Since I've been under a rock for a while....
Can someone fill me in on this whole DIStag thing? What am I supposed to take? How does it all work? With all the wedding stuff I have to take with me I need to see what all this involves.....

Thanks.

Nani...in the confusion of chat, was someone supposed to post a pic of Surly?? (I know I'm debating whether to post a pic of our new Marine. Don't know if anyone really cares to see, but I just want to share!) Or, was Surly just making more off the wall promises last night! Who invited my DH to chat, anyway? Oh, yeah...that was me...

Melanie...you are so good! Of course, making your own gifts for the kids is so much more personal (and cheaper!). I ordered from Shirley just for the sheer ease of it all. Trying to simplify this cruise. Not entirely sure how good of a job I'm doing....

Carolyn...finished packing and leaving in 1/2 hour....can NOT believe we made it through the last 3 months...thanks for being a grand distraction all...:)

I'm thinking that we'll have dinner, see the shows, and then when the kids go to sleep I'll head up to the bar and catch the 2nd half of the game. :happytv:

Now, if my wife wants to join me and have a glass of wine, that would be great. But, since we are not big wine drinkers, I'll have to get her an Applitini.

Jack

P.S. Just remember folks, I get 4500. So, if you get near there before 9:00 AM tomorrow, you'll just have to wait for me to sing on! :teeth:

Do not play with my emotions. It had better not be me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Not to worry, Dee.

Hey JACK......I got the Navigator from the Oct double dip-------Sunday, Diversions, NFL football....it's a GO!

..........back to parusing (sp?) the Navigator I'll yell if I see any obvious changes from the May one we've all been looking at.

Jack, I'd try Diversions to watch the game. They have several big screen TVs... at least one of them would have the game. How did a Giants fan get so far away from CA?

Swimsuits arrived today. The cute (and on sale) one fit fine and dandy! :cool1: So I can send the $$ one back!

Hey do any of you Chase Disney Visa users know at what point you actually 'get' your rewards to transfer to your card? My billing cycle ended 10/20 and I've transfered all points to my rewards card....BUT what about charges I've made since 10/20? Do I have to wait to the next billing cycle to be able to transfer them? That would be a bummer, since I just charged $700 at the dentist.....heck that's a sail-away drink!
