Okay, I'm in planning crisis.....

Pat, Linda and everyone else - need opinion right away because I have to call DFTW back by Monday!

As you know, the wedding at CC is on Friday at 10 a.m. which means getting up super early for us to get everyone ready and etc. Not to mention that it takes away from our day onshore. We went with this because an evening wedding would conflict with everyone's dinner plans. Cost is $2900.

I just got off the phone with the planner. We can do the onboard wedding Thursday at 4 p.m. which allows us to keep our regular dining schedule...ooohhhh lobster! It's an at sea day. Plenty of time to get ready. No worries about weather - or heat for Jeff in his suit. Full day then at CC. Cost $1900.

Which would you do???

I keep getting the same message :confused3 Whats going n :confused3

Oh by the way i live by Great Adventure in nj, in the middle of no where :rotfl:

I would do Thursday for two reasons. 1. The cost is signicantly more for CC 2. The weather will not be factor

No matter what it will be wonderful. Best of luck to you.

Save the thousand bucks and go for the Thursday wedding. Use some of that leftover $$ and book some "villa" time for you and Jeff! :teeth:

Thank you all, but Ruth Ring past tonight at 6:30. She will be missed. We think the services will be on tuesday, all of the argments are going to be made tomorrow. SHe was sleeping peacefuly, and all of her grandchildren were able visit with her today.

Devin, many thoughts and prayers for you, Michelle, the girls and the rest of the family....

Hi all.
I have not made it all the way through the Live From thread, but I have caught a couple highlights. Sounds great! I can't wait for the trip reports.

I have to admit that as summer has begun I was wondering, "why in the world did I plan this thing for the Fall?"
So, I have been checking around for rates for a summer cruise. Of course, then I remembered why I chose Fall. $$$ :sad2:

So, we're still waiting for November.

Do we know of anyone else who will have kids in the 5-8 age range?

Jennifer

I'm really hoping for APL dining rotation, I think. And I guess it is likely I'll get it since my kids will be 5/6 and 8. Although, maybe that is not considered 'young' on DCL. Anyone else hoping for a certain rotation?

Jennifer, My youngest daughter is 7 (oldest 11) and I think that I there are others in that age group. Without taking time to go back to look to see if it's posted.....are yours girls or boys?

Mine are boys. The youngest will turn 6 on the ship and the older will have just turned 8. Both of them play with girls a lot.

Devin, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. :grouphug:

JJsmama, we will put in a request for APL also. We have late seating and I'd prefer to eat at 8PM. Odds are pretty good DCL would assign us LAP as were are adults only in our stateroom, so we'll be sure this request is on our reservation. Also page 1 of this thread lists a lot of the family 'breakouts'.

I've been working on 'collecting' WDW pictures and e-mailing them to my boss' daughters each day before their trip in mid-June. I'm having a bit of trouble selecting ones for MGM, so if anybody has some good ones please post them (or e-mail me). I also need ideas for the final picture (which will be sent on Father's Day). Other than one of Mickey waving ("See you real soon") I can't think of a good 'final' picture...any ideas? The biggest hit with the girls so far is one of the big silverback gorilla from AK :confused3 BUT that was before they've seen the one of Cinderella's carriage with the white poines and liveried footmen....can't wait for the reaction to that one!

Well, off to weight myself and report in on the weightloss thread. Have a good day everyone!

Devin and Michelle and kids, I'm so sorry for your loss. Ous thoughts are with you during this sad time. Please take care of yourselves!

Carolyn

Jennifer...DD is turning 5 in June and DS is turning 8 in July. I know he'd enjoy chatting with another kid on this cruise, if your DS is interested in exchanging email addresses. Both DD and DS are comfortable playing/hanging out with boys and girls.

Is APL the preferred rotation for families with kids? Why?

Do you have plans, yet, for the kids in Cozumel? We're just not sure what would be best for them...

Carolyn

Statistically, based on numerous DIS surveys, it is generally the rotation assigned by DCL to those with young kids, PLA to the mid-range, and LAP to adults, older kids. Of course, there are people of every age group in each rotation, but you'd be see fewer tiny kids in the LAP rotation, for example.

With the staggared seating, the APL eat earliest, PLA 15 mins later and LAP the latest. So for late seating it's APL 8PM, PLA 8:15PM, LAP 8:30PM.

I am so sorry for your loss Devin - losing someone is so hard - and the "right" words are difficult...

Kris - I agee with Pat / Linda /Dee on saving the money - your wedding will be special - that is a guarantee!!!

Have a good Saturday - everyone!

Does anybody else say the same mantra as I do whenever I hit "submit reply"?

"Please don't tell me the server is busy."
"Please don't tell me the server is busy."

And then hold your breath till it goes through, then a big sigh of relief? :)

Or is it just me?

I totally 100% agree !!! Especially when I 'sneak' at work and want to post and then type a really nice note (it felt that way anyway) and NOTHING!!!! Arrrghhh

:yay: Our CROCs arrived today. Love them, love them, love them! They weigh practically nothing and feel wonderful on my feet. Sarah and I have not taken ours off since they came in. Poor DH's were too big (I think I heard a small, almost imperceptiple, except to my highly trained wifey ears, sigh of relief :) ). I am sending them back and have already ordered him a new pair in a smaller size.

Wishing you all a pleasant sunny weekend. It's raining here, but promises to be very nice tomorrow. :sunny:
