pandamom, looks like Peg and I will be doing the Royal Dolphin swim with you and your DD! You did get your confirmation, didn't you? I was freaking about making it on time to the 10AM as I'm sure we'll still have to tender in and I was afraid of delays getting off the ship (do people who booked DCL excursions get priority for tendering???). So we've switched to the 2PM and I won't have to drag Peg out of bed at the crack of dawn...hehe.

Hannosmon Yikes! Glad you are feeling better. ::yes::

JJsmama, yes, there should/will be Holiday decorations up during the cruise. Last year I cruised 11/6-9 and each morning something new was added...like MAGIC. I'm planing on getting a picture by the Christmas tree for my Holiday cards.

Hi all, just wanted to let ya'll know I am back, mostly. We spent last week in PA visiting my kids and grands. My oldest son got sick with a stomach bug on Tuesday, but was fine on Wednesday. Then I got it on Thursday, and it turned into the Godzilla stomach virus. I just couldn't shake it...so we went home early on Sunday, called my doc on Monday, who sent me to the ER for IV fluids and anti nausea meds. Much better now and much happier :goodvibes , except for gaining back 5 of the 8 lbs I lost. (shoot!)

Spotdude, I'm pretty sure the kids can stay in the clubs while you go ashore. But, keep an eye on the time...there were a couple of "stories" going around the DIS a few years ago about parents who were late for the ship in a port, missed the departure, and their kids were still in the clubs  . It might have just been a rumor, but who knows? I think in this case the ship turned around for them, but you can imagine the Captain was "none too happy". :furious: :teeth:

That flu is all over I have a Driver out that just came back from getting a pace maker and he has been out all week with that flu. And my boss is getting a quadruple bypass next month is out with it as well. (He was supposed to go in this week) I have been eating vitiams like candy. Trying to stay ahead if it. I can’t afford to be out now there won’t be anyone left.
Wow didn't make it back ahhhaa I can't even think of that. I was looking at the Nav. from the last 7 day cruise and I think I am going to go on the Dune Buggy Excursion. That leaves at 1 (well it did) that should give everyone enough time to shop, and look around before we leave. I am really not comfortable leaving and 9 and 6 year old alone. Call me paranoid.

HELLO! Hey ya Wenday & Linda:wave:

What a great couple of pages of posts - people!

SpotDude - I too love Sedona, got married there 8 years ago? Or was it 7? Geez!!!! I blame it on hormones! Anyway, we love being so close - one of the perks. I too think everyone should fly in to see the city - it's the only way to go. My friend Dave has a four seater and a helicopter, I've seen parts of this State that people can't see at ALL! I LOVE ARIZONA!!!!

I'm so happy about the dolphin swim I could just scream...:hyper:

Gosh, it just doesn't seem fair to have to pay full price to watch my sister fly around in the sky... (hmmm maybe it IS worth it!) :worship: She totally came through for me this week making her creative tags for our customer big event this week... have I said how much I love my sister?

I'm sorry we missed the chat last Tuesday, sounds like you had a good group - poor Pat - I would be very sad if I were there and couldn't get in. But I'm making a mental note to send invites even if people appear off line.

ONLY TWO more shows of Gilmore girls and I'll be on at least once in a blue. I'm glad my job has been keeping me busy, but I sure do love OH WAIT!!!!

I ALMOST FORGOT TO TELL YOU!!!!

Guess what I got? A post card from MICKEY!!! Yep from Castaway Cay! HOW DID MY SISTER DO THAT?

Isn't that cool? I have it taped up near the computer - to remind me exactly WHY I have this over busy, stressed job. SO I CAN TRAVEL!

Looks like my sister is due for a DL experience, and God knows she deserves it, so looks like we'll be heading out next month for a weekend to see the Mouse - anyone want to fly out and join us?

:dancer: I promised not to flap on and one - I hope your feeling better HANNOSMOM!

I don't think your paranoid SPOTDUDE - I think you sound like a very caring father! Do your kids like to do crafts? I was thinking how much fun it would be to be on a cruise hanging with the kids doing crafts and stuff... do they have pottery painting and stuff on this ship? I bet I could get my sister and Sarah at least - to do something like that. I know there are going to be things to do every moment once we get on board. Ok, signing off - have to get ready for work!

ibouncetoo Yes! I rec'd the confirmation -- woohooo! I'm so glad we'll be doing the same dolphin swim!! :) I was going to do the 10:00am swim, but after reading the recent Cozumel thread, thought it would be cutting it too close so went w/the 2pm. Have you rec'd the 10% off coupon for photos/videos?

Well it is finally Friday. :cool1: I hope every one has a great weekend.

I am definately ready to cruise. I am tinking about going to WDW in Aug/Sep. Is anyone else going then?

We booked onboard last July . . . weren't sure if we'd really be able to go -- especially since we'll be taking the kids out of school -- but we've decided to make it happen. I've been trying to restrain myself, at least until after our summer vacation, but I fear the compulsive cruise planning is going to begin any minute now!

Anyway, "we" are myself, DH, DD who will be 12, DS 9 and DS who will be 8. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone over the coming months and hopefully meeting everyone onboard.

I thought I'd spend the rest of my life in Az but I can't stand Phx and that is really the only place ther is work so it's a trade off. I got spoiled living here and not seeing all the carnage on the news every night, and my youngest we need the best health care possiable and her is where it is.
The one thing I do miss is we just came back from a day of dirt biking and we really didn't go anywhere. Everything here is small tracks. My oldest loves her bike and she can''t really ride the way I did because it is wall to wall people. (the trade off I miss the open spaces, and cheap flying) so what I learned in a few weeks has taken her almost a year. But we drive around in circles and have a good time anyway. She was about to explode she got a really good report card and we bought her a new PINK helmet. She was all done with that red and black one.
Anyway I think I am going to do the Dune Buggy excursion. ther is snorking at the end, and I really love that. My nephew said he'll go with me ang DW says she want to go also. I haven't told her I'll be driving though. We did some sandrail time in the Imeral sand dunes while we were living there she had a good time but said that went a little to fast for her. but it was the open dessert.
Almost six months I can not quite stand to wait much longer. I thnk to night I'll have a tropical drink to get in the mood.
I need to help Dw with her home work colllege

Welcome aidenht to a entire thread of compulsive cruise planners!!! You'll be right at home here. There are quite a few that have already booked non-DCL excursions so you have a ways to go to catch up!

My DD will be 11 on the cruise so if you'd like to hook the girls up just send me a PM and I can pass on Heather's email to you. My other DD is 7-1/2 and is a bit of a tomboy so she'd be more than happy to latch on to one of your DSs.

Chat night is Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern.....hope to talk to you then!

hey....LOOK! the tag fairy got me! i am so excited!

i have no idea what excursions we will do...i am mainly concerned with how everything looks after all the hurricanes on both cozumel and costa maya....i have read up on paradise beach and it sounds fun! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad more and more people are finding the thread and joining in the posts!

Welcome...

SpotDude - I do know what you mean about the City of Phoenix, it gets to me as well sometimes, I just don't know if I could give up the rest of the state, and being close to San Diego, Lake Tahoe, and many other things. I bet I would have an entirely different view if I had children... I "get it"... :) Have a great wekend!

Welcomd aidanht :welcome: I say, let the compulsive cruise planning begin!

Speaking of compulsive planning, Peg and I have been playing with a door sign. I'll post it once it's close to ready. Spotdude, how are your door signs coming along?

Off to see a chick flick today..."Friends with Money". We'll let you all know how it is.

Have a good Sunday all!

My creative other half is out of school for the summer now so that is next. I need to get some pics out to my parents was going to do all of them at once. I am hoping that I can use the itenary for the 7 night wester and go with that. I guess on 5 27 we will find out. I have a scrapbooking kit from Disney World I need to find as well. We bought it two years ago and never used it. I need some of it for colage and some for our signs. And if any one need Magnets I have a lot of them we pulled them off our racking at work. THay are really powerful I use them on my spare ant. for my sat. radio. THey are like 4" x12" I have about 50 and I can get more.

Peg wants to do a door sign for each day too. The one we just worked on we'll leave up everyday....it's got our DIS names and our pal Tigger on it.

Does anyone know how the fish clips by the door work? Is there just a slotted area where you can leave a note or does it actually 'clip'? Could you, for example, clip a small gift bag to it? I will be wanting to give people reminder notes about the DIS lunch. OHHHHHH, I just had a scathingly brillient idea about making little magnets with my Disney stamps and clay. I good craft project for those long HOT HOT HOT summer days! :sunny: OK, forget I said anything about this.......hehehehe.

I din't know they were clips I remnember the fish but that is it. I know where there is a pic of one I'll go look at it.

Jackie, I don't think there is a "clip" at all. You just slide the paper between the "fish" and the wall.

I've been playing with door sign ideas too. Here are my current stupid questions since Ed made my signs las year....Where do I get the magnetic paper? How does it come (sheets or roll)? Does the whole printing process just work like any other normal printing process only on the special paper?

Last cruise we put a magnetic dry erase board with clip-on pen on our door for the entire cruise, along with home depot alien green mickey magnets we made. We also have a Disney Magnet per family member that we post on our door (Dory for me, Mr. Incredible for DH, 3 fish friends from Nemo for 3 sons). Each day of the cruise we added another magnetic novelty (pirate flags for pirate day, red/white/blue stuff for July 4th, etc). It was fun to add something new each day, and we loved reading the notes others had written on our dry erase board. We are pretty far aft on Deck 2 this trip, and since so very few people will ever pass our door we're not very likely to get any greetings on the dry erase board this cruise. We've also been known to wander the halls looking for DIS signs/magnets on people's doors.

Kris, the magnetic paper comes in sheets....but I don't bother with it. I just do mine on paper, then laminate it (I belive Kinkos will laminate for your...I do mine at the office) and then just glue a piece in each corner off of the strip magnet that comes in a roll (craft store or office supply store). Look for the "Pardon my dust" thread on this forum for a nicely consilidated place for instructions and ideas culled from the "Show us your magnetic door sign" mega-thread. I'll go see if I can find it and will post a link here.

Here it is: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=925792

Wendy, the dry erase board is a good idea. Peg and I have decided not to bother with 2-way radios and this would be a good idea to leave each other messages as to our whereabouts when one of us wanders off.....and that WILL happen! ::yes:: We can move the board to the inside of the stateroom when the early riser wanders off to deck 9 or wherever, so the late sleeper knows what's going on when she wakes up! (Notice I'm not naming names here.)
