November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Great news on the credit FrenchSnowWhite! :cool1:

Yndy....I love the spreadsheet! Great job. :thumbsup2 Hate to be a pain because it looks great, but is there some way to put our "real" names near our user names? I always get confused with everyones reallife names vs. user names :rolleyes1 Not a big deal, I can print it out and write the name son it myself. I may post this next to my computer for easy access.

Lynn, I think we have to be back on the ship in St Maarten at 7PM? That's what the DCL site says? 4:30PM for St Thomas. (The Lord Sheffield trip is in St Maarten) Now I'm worried about it :scared: BTW, we also have an 8 yr old DS, he'll be going into 3rd grade...they start school next week.

oops did not want to make you nervous, was just thinking if you book outside Disney and they are late the ship leaves. If you book a DCL and they are late the ship waits. So just check the times again. I have to imagin unless something weird happen, these trip people know you must be back, from what I understand an hour before. Just confirm, otherwise join us on DOUBLOOn. Lynn

We should be fine if the time is 7PM. Can anyone else confirm that we leave St Maarten at 7PM?

We did Capt Marvins on the Western and loved it! We didn't have any problems with getting back to the ship on time. I didn't book any private excursions on St Thomas b/c we are due to leave so early.

I just double checked the excursions and stuff again. I think you might be confusing St Maarten and St Thomas. We're doing the Lord Sheffield which is in St Maarten, all aboard the Magic is 7 PM. The Doubloon is on St Thomas, all aboard 4:30.

We thought about the Doubloon, but couldn't because 2 of the kids would be too young for the Disney run excursion. (That's why we went with the private one on St Maarten, the 2 youngest are welcomed too)

Oh, forgot our real names :o Kimberly (me) Michael (DH), Sean (DS8), Tara (DD3 1/2)

We also have my 2 parents and my DSis, DBil and DNephew (almost 2)

The spreadsheet looks great. It was a good idea to see the kids breakdown. Some good passport news, my children's passports only took 4 wks, not expedited. My guess not a big security check hassle for children. Is anyone doing the Atlantis excursion at St. Thomas?

Wow that is really fast for the passports unexpedited! We applied for the kids passports 2 weeks ago and I was not even expecting to have them back in time, but maybe there is a chance.

thanks for the feedback guys - I figured I'd update it weekly until we sail.

I was talking to Wally and we both agree that people have different comfort levels about how much 'personal info' to post in a public forum... (note that yndy isn't my real name either, lol...)

So I don't intend to put "real" names on there - but maybe we can figure out some sort of 'voluntary shipboard directory' before we sail that wouldn't be posted here, but would either be PMed or printed out for our "DIS meet" on board.

It's a thought.

You know I have never meet a Lynn before and here I see you :) I am Lynn spelled with the two n's.
So it is me Lynn dh Mark ds 8 turning 9 on board Michael and many creatures at home. We are on 2050.

Well I am glad to meet another Lynn ....:tigger: .

Was it decided that we will be playing Dis Tag ? - on previous cruises I have played this it was a blast ... we each brought a little something that represented where we were from ... I had put together a cd with pics of New England and included Red Sox and Patriots stuff. We should make a decision soon as I would like to start purchasing some chackis for all of my new friends:dance3:

Yndy,

I love your spread sheet. On our double dip cruise last year, a DISer printed a Double Dip Navigator for the DIS board. We PM'd her our emails and any information that we did not want on the public boards. Each person could print it out at home, and we knew who we were prior to boarding. I just checked my PMs to see if I had a copy in there, but I just had old comminication. I will look in my cruise file from last year, where I know I have a copy of the navigator.

It was styled like the old 4 page cruise navigators. I believe the first page had a map of out itinerary, and highlights of our cruise, such as the DIS meet in the prominade lounge, the cabin tour schedule, and a "scheduled" group lunch. The next pages listed everyone, their childrens ages, and possible cabin numbers. There was a map of the ship, with all of the DISers cabins highlighted.

If you're interested, I'll look for it tomorrow. My kids really enjoyed seeing what other kids were there ages on the cruise.

Lynnie,

Our dis tag sounds a little different. How did you guys play? We had a magnet (green Mickey Head) and if you found it on your door then you had to sign it and then try to find the door of another player to leave the Mickey Head on their door. We had a list of people that wanted to play and the floor they were on. The people that wanted to play just had to make sure that they had magnets on their door with their disname on it.

I'd love to see that!! I like putting things together like that, so I'd be more than happy to do something! :)

Quick passport question.....do you have to send in your birth certificates with the paperwork? If you do, do they send it back seperately or with the passports?

Mine expired years ago and I need to get a brand new one and the kids both need one. I'm nervous that even if we expedite them it could take too long at this point and if we send in the birth certificates, we'll really be in trouble!

Here in Canada we do need our birth c. for the passport.

Maybe you should go to the passport office it will go way faster!:goodvibes

Love the spreadsheet!

My DH is a little depressed, though, thinking that we're not taking him along on the cruise. I suppose we'll let him come along, so if you do a revised version, could you add him to our family listing? Thanks!!!

Also, I think distag would be great fun! I was in a serious work crunch last year and didn't have time to buy things to participate, but I'd love to play along this time.

You do need to send in your birth certificate. They return it separately. You are able to print a verification page stating you have applied for a passport in case it is not done in time for the trip.

Lol... I just couldn't find any indication if it was a DH or a DW... glad to know you are the DW!! :)

So I put an X as in "yep, that there is a spouse there!" But I've tweaked it now... so he can come!! :rotfl:

Yndy, PM me your email, and I'll send it to you. I have to wait to get DH to scan it--I'm technologically impaired.
