November 10, 2007 - MAGIC - Eastern

Thanks SPOOHS glad to hear your DD liked it! My DD can't wait and i think it will be a fun highlight for her.

Are you guys doing any excursions this year? or any that you recommend from last year?

Glad to hear you got the dolphin encounter. I think it will be a nice day for you and your DD.

The dolphin excursion was the only one we did last year. We were orignally supossed to be on a Western cruise, but thanks to hurricane Ernesto it was changed to an Eastern cruise when we got to the port. So when we boarded the ship there was a mad scramble to book new shore excursions and a very long line. We had to go over the list while in line and that was the only one that really stood out for us so we picked it and becuase of the price we decided it would be the only one we would do.

This time we booked the stringray on CC. We are interested in doing Coral World in St. Tomas, but we decided to do that on our own so we aren't scheduled and can spend as much time as we want.

My DD is looking foward to meeting your DD:banana: . Hopefully the kids can meet day one so they can know eachother when they start going to the kids clubs. When are you planning on arriving to the port?

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Remember gang when I told you that I would have Palo ressies????:rolleyes1

Well...........now I HAVE THEM!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We are booked on day 4 at 8pm!!!!!

No brunch, but hope to have it between today and day 1!!!!!!;)

I'm soooooooo excited!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

re: excursions...
our 4 yr old is too young for most the disney trips also. we are considering:

st thomas: catamaran sail over to trunk bay in st john for the day.
st martin: rhino rider boats or the dune buggy adventure.
both through shoretrips.com

i'd love suggestions of other private excursion places to look into.

leslie

Leslie, we always seem to run into that problem to so we usually do atleast 1 private excursion each cruise. (My DS is now 7, 8 on cruise, but on his first cruise he was too young for anything. We also have my DD 3 1/2 and my DNephew will be almost 2 going this time.)

This time we are doing the Lord Sheffield pirate cruise in St Maarten. It's supposed to be really good. Its sounds similar to the Dubloon cruise DCL sponsors. They go sailing on a mast ship, then they have snorkling and BBQ & open bar. All ages are welcome. We have 9, including all 3 kids. (We found it through shoretrips but it's a little cheaper going through their site directly)

Congrats to everyone for getting almost everything you wanted :cool1:

Well I got upset that I could not log in and went to bed. This morning I saw Leslielightfoot's post and tried again...and got right in. Unfortunatly, all the reservations for Palo were taken for any of the times we were interested in going. I will keep my fingers crossed that I am able to get them onboard....what is the best way to do that? I did make babysitting reservations for the times we wanted though....if the worst happens and we do not get Palo at least DH and I will have some alone time.

Heynow

Ok, i got up this morning, checked all the site and now it does not show my reservations.
i had booked palo's for supper day 5 (7-9pm) and a massage and castaway cays 11-12pm day 7/

none of it is showing anywhere.

WHAT DID I DO WRONG :(

Leslie,
The same happened last night to me and I had to make the reservations all over again. I better check this am and make sure. I think I missed a step where it idicated UNVERIFIED and there was a submit button that I missed the first time. Thats what happens when :surfweb: .

well crap - that sucks.
i lost all my ressies :*(
i didn't see any step i might of missed but i did notice they all said "unverified" beside them - i didn't know how to change that or what it really meant.

really disappointed now.

I had to re-sign in last night too to book. Then I didn't hit reserve at first since I was still adding things but got it all.

Since my youngest is 3, we are doing the SeaWorld Explorer-Coral Reef tour in St. Maarten. Then I will head shopping by myself afterwards.

I booked Palo dinner for 7pm heading out of St. Thomas. Will change if its a fun dinner night. Brunch wasn't available so will keep trying.

Book a couples massage for Sea Day at end of week.

I think in St. Thomas we will do our own excursion/beach trip. The kids may get tired on a long excursion and will want to head back to the ship.

I can't wait.

Hi All,

We are trying to plan our port excursions and was wondering if anyone would like to do a private tour with us in St. Maarteen. I have inquiries into 2 tour guides that are highly recommended on Cruise Critic. My thought on places to visit are: the butterfly farm, Paradise View for lunch (I here the views are great!), one of the beaches for an hour or two, a quick shopping stop and maybe a winery or rum place and lastly a bit of sight seeing.

We have 2 children (DS 5 & DD 1) and do not want to get stuck on a bus and/or tour without flexiblity to stop for ice cream, potties etc.

Based on the pricies I have seen on posts the cost would be approx. $150 per family for all day.

Send me a private message if you are interested.

well, i was able to go in this morning and book a few things. i am so mad at myself. i realize now that i missed a final step to FINALIZE my reservations. it was midnight, i guess i was already 1/2 asleep. KICKING MYSELF>

anyhow, i was able to get a palo for last night of cruise and will likely try and change it when i get on the ship. i will try and get a brunch too although i don't care that much if we make the brunch.

i couldn't get a massage booked except at the lunch hour. oh well.

lesson learned.

so... Anyone on this cruise from Ontario Canada? We are from Belleville area but are actually flying out of Rochester, NY b/c it saved us a bundle on flights.

We are staying at Coronado resort at WDW for 3 days too. This is our first WDW and our first cruise. SO EXCITED!

Hi Leslie, not from Ontario, but we are from Montreal Quebec, so near each other!!!

And we are flying in the day before and staying at the Hyatt at MCO.

You're gonna love WDW!!!!

We've been there 3 times in the last 2 years!

And like you its our first Disney Cruise!!!

Ooh sorry about that Leslie! :(

But don't worry too hard about the Palo thing... just make sure that when you get on the ship, rather than letting the CM take you off to the restaurant - say you want to go to Diversions for the restaurant reservations - and they'll take you - or just turn to the right and take yourself there! :)
They hold back at least 50% of the reservations for Palo - so you should be able to get it fixed! :)

Ooh sorry about that Leslie! :(

Leslie, sorry thats such a BUMMER! But I do hope it works out for you...sounds like it should. I agree that the it was a bit confusing about the "unverified" part...I almost missed it myself.

HeyNow...a private excursion would have been fun, but we are headed to the dolphin excursion in Anguilla. Have fun though!

SPOOHS...We are staying at the Radisson and i hope to head to the port around 10:30 or so. But we will see how tired we are from flying in the night before and the time change. We will be on CA time, so that may prove to be a bit of a problem.

I'm hoping to head to one of the pools once we get on board and eat outside versus going to the restaurant. My dd would love to meet your daughter and she'll be so happy to have someone older to play with. All of our kids (we are going w/ friends) are younger, so she will love having some "big kid" time.

What is everyone else doing? Are you guys flying in the day of and where are you staying?

list_0827.jpg

Okay, this is based off of Woody's list on page 5 - and digging about a bit in the posts to see if I could find more info...

But this is the list as it stands right now, listed alphabetically by user name - with info about kids and family...

I couldn't add Lynnie04's stuff to the totals yet... no details (Lynn? :))

But I'm one of those obsessive information/spreadsheet types... and I was wondering how many 'fun things to surprise other DISers with' I might want to bring with me! :goodvibes

If I need to change or update anything - let me know, eh?

74 days and counting!

We are flying in the 6 and doing Disney for a day or two and maybe Port Canveral. Anyone done that before any tips on what tour to take and how long we need?
We are staying at the Residence Inn the night before the cruise.

What excursions did you get. We got the Golden Eagle on Tuesday St Martain
Doubloon sail and snorkle at St Thomas
At cc we got the Stingray adventrue and we signed up for the not jet skis, but the motorized two seater with guide. Can't remember the name. Still unsure about that one, anyone with advice?

Also got Palos 830pm on Tuesday, little afraid that is Pirates night and seems so late especially because we have to get up early for ST Thomas.
