November 1, 2012 ~ 3-Night Dream

Sandy, I like your door signs. Espcially the big waves! I need to get on the ball with magnets/signs! I used magnet paper last time but don't remember where I got it. I know it was much cheaper than Staples.

Paula, my kids are excited about EVERYTHING - from missing school to ordering 2 desserts! They will love anything. I will add that they were so excited about getting Bahamian coins in our change last time and each keep a coin collection of 'different' coins they come across. Mostly wheat pennies or Bicentenial quarters! lol

If you have a few pennies or similar coins they would think that was very cool! I am going to send you a PM about something my youngest kid keeps telling me, but he is only 8 so I don't know if he has the facts straight! lol

FLbadders, did you see the shuttle today? We drove over for the last night time lauch of the shuttle. We usually could see the shuttle launch on clear days but I have never seen it 'piggyback' on another plane. That would have been a nice final photo.

We were not able to see it yesterday :( We were on our way to school when it was leaving our area! Many of our friends were able to see it and showed us pictures. Although we have gone and seen launches, the last two shuttles and some rockets. :)

Can't get here soon enough!!!

Did anyone notice that all of the cabins participating in the FE so far have cabin #'s that end in 86?

Must be our magical #! :cool1:

Hi there - this will be our second Disney cruise (cruised med on the Magic last year!). Very excited about this 3 nighter which is slap bang in the middle of a fortnight doing Disneyworld (my happy place!!).
I have booked a GTY verrandah cabin but still no room number assigned yet. Was thinking of booking blue lagoon island in bahamas - anyone have any experience of this?
Ps there will be me, hubby and daughter 7 xx:)

Got all our cruise documents today. How do I contain my excitment! :cool1:
Wow! I thought you guys across the pond usually received your docs later than us in the US. Has anyone else gotten their's?

My family LOVES the Pan-seared Sea Bass at Enchanted Garden. On our last cruise EG also had Prime Rib (instead of The Tuna Salad they show online) that was very good.
DS said he really liked the Roasted Wild Boar Tenderloin at Royal Palace and will be getting that again. We all like the Escargots Gratinés at RP too.
I was not impressed by the White Shrimp Pennette Pasta at Animator's Palate. I don't know why I didn't get the Grilled Pacific Black Cod instead. I will be trying that this time around.
I didn't care for any of the desserts. I've been told to try the Grand Marnier Soufflé at RP. I've also heard that the ice cream sundaes are good.
I've never had lamb and have always wanted to try it, but I completely forgot about it when we were at the embarkation lunch last cruise. It's a must do/eat this time.

If you're parking at the port, I suggest parking on level 3 of the garage. You can walk right across the bridge to the terminal from there. We have 11-11:30am port arrival time again and plan to get there around 11:20. We walked right on the ship after a quick check-in last time, worked out perfectly.

If you don't care about the embarkation photo, skip it instead of standing in line.

If you don't get a Navigator at check-in, go to Guest Services and grab one, before you head to lunch or the pool deck. We didn't get one and had to go back down after lunch at Cabanas.

I've heard there's a very short wait for the AquaDuck, if you get on the ship early (around noon). People have suggested wearing swimsuits under your clothes.

You will be assigned a breakfast time & restaurant on the last morning. It will be where you had dinner the night before. If you have early dinner, breakfast will be at 6:45am; late dinner, your breakfast will be at 8am. You do NOT have to go to this. Cabanas will be open and serving food from 6:30 to 8:30am, but you can sit there and eat until 9-9:15am.

You and your luggage have to be out of your stateroom by 8am the last morning.

If you don't want to carry your own luggage off the ship, it must be outside your door between 8:30 and 10:30pm. I put mine out at 10:40pm and they didn't take it.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'd be more than happy to answer them, if I can.

We got ours last week :) My husband and I sat and looked through the book and ooohhed and ahhhhed, LOL :)

Thank you for all of the Food suggestions and tips!! I have been writing everything I read from the boards, ext. So much to remember but am sure it will be great!

I was wondering, can you request specific tables or places in the restaurant. I assume if you can, it is not guaranteed. I have already asked my TA and she said no, but wondering if I can call directly to Disney on this one? For example in the Enchanted garden it looks like only a few of the tables are the round ones that are similar looking to the tea cups, which would be fun. As well as being on a wall near crush or a wall for the animators dinner or near a window at Royal Palace?

Yes, you can make those requests. I asked for a teacup table for the 3 of us. My TA said he would add it to my reservation. We sat in bad locations in all 3 restaurants last time and I wanted to see if we could get something better this time.

I don't know if you can fit 5 people at a teacup table though.

Hmm, We are going to through small world vacations, haven't been extremely pleased with their services so far. I think I will call Disney to see if they can add it for us.

Any suggestions for seating placements?
