November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

Don't bother getting to the port before 10am I don't think they open the doors until then.
Usually boarding begins between 11:30 and 12 and is by group # (which you get as you enter the port)
FIrst time cruisers may want to get there eary since there is plenty to see and they usually have characters come out in the lobby Heck, the bathroom is even cute. (can you tell that we were so glad to be there that everything was wonderful!)
The only thing I would advise if you get on right away is plan on bringing as little as possible in your carry on.
Its not much fun dragging around suitcases and bags at the buffet or signing up for Palo/Spa stuff.
We have been taking the DCL transportation the last couple of times from our Disney resort. Even though we get there a little later, they take our bags right from our room and we can usually get into our stateroom shortly after getting on board.

OOOH :cool1: I can't wait!!!!

Hi Fish Extender EDCers! I was wondering if an FE recipients have peanut allergies?

We're going to MNSHP. From what I understand, people that purchased tickets only for the party can enter the park as early as 4 pm, however, the party doesn't officially start until 7 pm and lasts until 12. When my family sleeps late, it's no later than 9 and that gives us enough time to get to the ship the next day. We're flying in that day and thought it would be nice for the kids since we're missing Halloween at home. My husband does Halloween up big with over the top decorations at home, so the kids were a little upset.

Thanks. That makes sense!! We went back and forth on the party. I will probably be a bit sad when i see the set-up and everything. We are flying in on Thursday night so we will have all day Friday in the park. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I made dinner reservations at the whispering Canyon for Friday night so our plan is to hit the park at opening. go til we are ready to drop. come back, relax and have dinner. Into bed at a normal time and up Saturday for the boat. We are going to the AKL for one night at the end. I can't wait.

and

then I am done! :dance3:

Now, any ideas how I am supposed to pack w/o the kiddos catching on?:confused3

I think IF I put a couple more bags of stuff in dh's office I can hide the stuff in there.

Here's hoping dh doesn't have time to read this any time this week.:lmao:

I have ordered all my fe stuff, now just need to put them together...aahhh!!:scared1: I only have 1 month, 1 week and 3 days (we head down on the 31st)!!! OMG, I will be working some late nights!! :scared1:

DD knows all about it, she thinks it is cool that she is going to get gifts and it isn't even her b-day...ah, to be almost 4 again!! She is also excited about delivering our gifts...:cloud9:

no peanut allergies here...just love them WAY to much. :rotfl:

Hi All,

We're joining you on this "election day" cruise, we just found the thread. Recently we were on a cruise with 125+ cabins :scared1: as FE participants so this one looks a litle more low key.

It will be myself (DH, Bob) and DW, Dale.

Thanks, Bob :wave2:

Glad to have your crew along! I heard about the FE exchange on your 5 day cruise! Wow, my coworker said he filled his suitcase with FE stuff!

Oh, sure we might seem like a low key group now, but just wait. There are a few on this thread who I expect to show their true colors during our cruise:lmao:

I'll add you to the manifest on page 1 making you Official "Election Day Castaways"! Welcome Aboard!

but my dd who is allergic to apples loves chocolate ;)

Any chance her mother might like chocolate as well?

Wrabitdad...Remember, our Dis Meet will be Saturday at 3pm in the Promanade Lounge. Hope to meet you there!

I have no idea :confused3 what you're talking about or who you're referring too....;)
:lmao:

O.K...survived the race in Dover yesterday.... <-color the eyes red and we're twins...
FE's came in mail on Friday...OMG..PERFECT !!! Both DS's are good for clothes, hoping DH doesn't pull a last minute " Honey, these pants don't fit" or he's good.
I have a few more things to get and it's time to head south !!!:cool1:

Ok - got an answer to all my questions except the one below...anybody know????

1. Wanted to go to Palo on Key West night, but of course it was all booked up. Disney Rep suggested we make a ressie for another night and it would be easier to change than get a new ressie...is this true? We didn't want to miss any of the theme nights with our kids since this is our first time...

Thanks:banana:

I don't know if it would make it easier or not. Personally I think you should just plan on going to the rockin bar D or wherever it is that they have the sign ups as soon as you get on board.
If that is booked still, try calling Palo directly after the ship sails.

I'm not sure about it being easier to make one reservation and changing it to another. But I do know that if you try to board the ship as early as possible, you can go to Palo and try and get a reservation that way. I know it works for some people, on a first come, first served basis. Other than that I wouldn't konw. :confused3

Mindelmouse--You should be able to switch that Palo ressie without much problem, just try to do it once you board the ship. We were able to do it on our last cruise and we were in one of the last boarding groups and had no problem getting the night we wanted.

I'm sending PMs to everyone today for the wristband payment. If you don't get your pm or you want to add to the wristband list or change your size, please let me know ASAP.

Why did I know you would be the first to respond!:lmao: ...but you're not alone!

All I know is I love chocolate and peanuts mixed together, unfortunately they don't work with my new "lifestyle" i.e. Weight Watchers...but hey 21 lbs lighter and still going! I will be smokin' by the time the cruise rolls around...looks like momma's going shopping!!

just went shopping online @ Land's End.

WHOO :woohoo: got free shipping again. I had the crazy idea to make the kiddos some sundresses. It ain't happening right now.

I got some great deals & free shipping & some cute clothes & they match & the kiddos will love them & don't forget that free shipping.:dance3:

How many people realized that because daylight savings ends while we are on the cruise that WE GET AN EXTRA HOUR ON THE SHIP?!?!?

I'm a penny-pincher, so it was just one more reason to book THIS cruise and not another week's.
