November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

Thanks so much for welcoming us. Not to be a dummy but what is SSR? Photobucket is great for posting on internet site such as disboards.

SSR is Saratoga Springs Resort- DH & I purchased DVC in November (at Animal Kingdom) and this was my first time using the points. And you're not a dummy for asking!

We just returned from a great week at WDW. However, whenever we saw a Disney Cruise Bus we cheered loudly, and the conversation turned to Palo, OceanQuest, and Castaway Cay.

We are notorious overpackers. This time we limited ourselves to one checked bag, and one carry on, each. We did alright, but wondered how we were going to add clothing needed for the cruise. At least it got us thinking ahead. Now we can plan on "how to pack for the cruise"!

On our last cruise we learned about fish extenders too late. Do you know if anybody is doing this on the election cruise?

Unfortunetly I won't be cruising with you folks. I made a tough decision today, DCL will have to wait after convincing myself the other day to go.
I want to go but opted it more important to buy a wood pellet stove.

Thanks it was. We put a down payment for our 2008 cruise when we sailed last November. We had so much fun we wanted to make it an annual tradition. I have been battling the decision to go or not to go for a long time. On June 26th Southwest opens up there ticket sails for flights from 10/31/08 - 01/09/09. I convinced myself to go but today reason got the better of me. Wood pellet stove, gas prices, teenager getting license/car insurance in August. Plus we are already going to Hawaii this summer. Free place to stay because Aunt lives there. Can't beat the price. So it like we aren't doing something else. With the money I will get back from my deposit we will go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party for opening night instead and stay at the All Star Music. We already have Disney passes therefore this won't be as pricey.

Podsnel...So we were at WDW at the same time! I just started reading your trip report. Sounds like you had fun! We had a great time, too. We did waterparks in the morning, and then the other parks in the evening.

For those cruise shoppers out there...DW reminded me that the end of the summer season clothing sales will be coming up in a few weeks! Perfect opportunity for cruise shopping!

This week at the pool we have been playing "Livin La Vida Mickey" (along with a whole host of other DisneyMania tunes). It really gets us in the mood for cruising! Anyone have any favorite "cruise tunes"?

How could you not get in the mood for cruising to anything other than "Jimmy Buffett"? First of all we are all going to Margaritaville in Key West. And as far as I'm concerned, I live by the theory " it's 5 o'clock somewhere" so it might as well be here all the time!! Matter of fact I just bought a portable Margarita Machine with carrying case.....hmmmm....I assume it would be considered a carry on?

Of course Jimmy Buffet tunes are always on the playlist! I open the pool in May with Buffet music playing in the background! It's our kickoff of the summer season!

Oh, she's already made a first pass through the Disney Store online. Actually, she was talking about the local mall stores i.e. Macy's, Bon-Ton, Boscov's, etc.

I got a couple of cute tops in the AK a couple of weeks ago- they were on sale in the park and were not on sale in the gift shop at AKL that night. Glad I bought them when I did!!

DH and I splurged for the REAS package because we are Rainforest room fanatics and always end up talking ourselves out of the week long pass and only end up going one day. Now we will be able to go whenever we want, and not worry about it.
(plus booking at 105 days out is a nice perk!)
