November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

We just had an email from Sam's Club featuring...Segways! I'm sure your DH NEEDS one! Father's Day is coming soon, and a SEGWAY makes a perfect gift!

I'm anxious to learn more about the Little Mermaid. I'm sure DD9 would love it. Who knows, by the time our cruise rolls around, the Magic might have a new Little Mermaid show of its own!

If DH read this, he would agree that he NEEDS one. So far he is getting nothing for Father's day (as we don't have any kids and aren't expecting---yet).

After reading how families have been waiting forever for U.S. Passports we decided to apply for ours this morning. Hopefully, our passports will arrive in plenty of time for our cruise!:lmao: Nothing like planning ahead!

Stampinshauna...I was talking to the Easter Bunny the other day. He mentioned he occassionally delivers Segways to good boys, and girls. Has your DH been good?

"Only" 18 months! :goodvibes
It really will be here all of a sudden.
The good thing about booking SO early is we have LOTS of time to look forward to our cruise!
DH and I are missing the Disney Magic!!! We got off the ship 5 months ago, and we are feeling home sick. (we woke up to a foot and half of snow a couple of days ago... Humm.. Maybe that has something to do with it!)

We got our passports a couple of years ago when we first started crusing since it was easier than dragging around birth certificates. (who hows HOW exacty it was easier... but I'm glad we did it!)
One of these days I will actually go somewhere where I can get a stamp in it.
We have been getting together with our friends who are cruising with us for dinner and games every couple of weeks and they are feeling the cruise anticipation. (again... its mud season with snow;) )

DH has decided that we "need" to go to Disneyland for our next trip (2009). Do any of you have any experience with the California parks/hotels?

Have a great weekend! :)

18" of snow - Yikes!!!! I thought our cold April temperatures were bad, but at least we only have snow flurries - not 18"!

I just put a new "Island Mango" air freshener in my car. It reminds me of a Konk Cooler. Ahhhh...at least Castaway Cay will be warm and NO SNOW!

Stampinshauna...I was talking to the Easter Bunny the other day. He mentioned he occassionally delivers Segways to good boys, and girls. Has your DH been good?

Yep. He's been good. He puts up with me and my Disney addiction. Actually, he's addicted too. We are suckers for Disney merchandise. We even check the paper towel aisle at the store to see if they have any Disney prints. We do have Mickey on our kleenex boxes. DH keeps saying that we should go on another cruise before this one, but I don't think it is going to happen. He got a little bonus the other day and he was very nice and put it towards our cruise. He's a keeper!

Feenie--
If you have any Disneyland questions, just ask. Feel free to pm me as well. DH and I had annual passes there last year and were lucky enough to take 4 trips there just last year. I love both DL and WDW, but DL is just easier for us to get to. We stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel last year for the first time and we loved it.

DH and I sure get spoiled on a cruise ship. It seems like anytime we decide to go out for dinner, we can't decide where to go. At least on the ship you are told where to go and they always have something good on the menu. We also get spoiled with the service. It seems like the service at our local restaurants is really going downhill. I can't wait to be back on the Magic!

Rain here today in NJ Oh How I wish I was there......
DisneyMagic.jpg

I wish I was there too. We've had a cold front come in. Last week we were in the 60s and 70s and now we are in the 40s and 50s.

That picture makes me homesick--I like to think of DCL as my home away from home.

Cold and damp in PA, too. The weatherman said a Nor'easter is expected this weekend that could bring us a springtime snow storm!!!!!:scared:

Thank goodness we can dream of our disney cruise! ...warm, sunny days...palm trees...sandy beaches...ahhhhhhhhhh:goodvibes Please pass the key lime pie.

we have yet more snow today. I'm not really sure how much, since DH and I have been holed up sick since Wednesday morning.

Feenie...sorry you haven't been feeling well. Your doctor needs to prescribe...Konk Kooler q.i.d., poolside relaxation, followed by cabana message. (It makes me feel better just writing it!)

If your doctor prescribes it, maybe your health insurance will help cover the costs. :lmao: If you find out how to make that work, let me know--I may be coming down with something.

568 days to go and counting!

Back in 2002 I tore my hamstring a little over a month prior to our first DCL cruise. I went through rehab which included u/s deep tissue massage. I asked my doctor (who I thought was a friend!) for a requistion for a massage while on our cruise. He laughed and walked away. Some friend!:rotfl:

And from New Jersey!!!

We participate in "Jersey Week" each November at the WDW resort. We originally booked a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas for November of 2007, but changed it in January to the 7 day Western Cruise for November 1 to 8, 2008.

My DD is 7 (will be 8 on the cruise). She has been to WDW 5 times. This November, we will do the resort again now that we moved our trip. The cruise will be the first for all of us on Disney and the first ever for me and our DD. I don't know how we'll contain ourselves for a year and a half.

My husband, daughter and I are traveling with my sister's family (all adults). We also happen to have two sets of friends that are booked on the same cruise although unplanned (just a nice surprise).

We are booking airfare through the cruise and won't know when we'll arrive in FL for several months. We decided to play it safe to avoid the chance of flight delays and arriving late.

I have researched some of the excursions and trip activities already. I have an idea of what will be important to us, but it seems overwhelming.

Nice to meet all of you. After all, we're all in this boat together!! :wink

...and welcome to the Dis Cruise Boards!!

You're right, we're all in this boat together! Our DD will just be turning 11 by the time our cruise rolls around. November DW & I will be celebrating birthdays and we'll be turning...more than 11.

Feel free to ask any questions. We already have some seasoned DCL cruisers on this thread. If they don't have the answer, I'm sure we'll point you in the right direction.

Welcome Lisacarolr!!! If you have questions, just ask. We're always happy to answer questions!

Hey everybody...17 months and counting!

Tomorrow we're opening our pool for the summer. Time to break out the Jimmy Buffet tunes, along Livin La Vida Mickey, and the rest of the Disney Mania collection.

Does anyone have any favorite summertime/cruise tunes?

I love Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet. Even though I don't drink alcohol, I love that song because it reminds me of cruising. Steel drum bands also remind me of DCL.

We've had record breaking weather the past few days. Sunday reached 89 and normal is upper 60s for April. I feel like it is summer. I love the smell of sunscreen (it reminds me of cruising and other fun trips). We went and watched our neice and nephew play soccer on Saturday and I used our spray sunscreen before we left. DH asked when were we going to go to Topsiders for breakfast because it smelled like a cruise.

When we get back from our December WDW trip, we are going to have less than a YEAR to go! So exciting!
(humm... So much to plan, so little time!)
