November 1, 2008 "Election Day Castaways!"

100 more posts until 2500. I'm sure that will be easy. I won't be helping after today though. I think the posts will slow down as we all leave.

Still have a bunch to get done today--hope I don't forget anything important.

98 posts and counting! must. get. to. 2500.

Took DD (sydney) to the Pedi Dentist today. She fell last week and hit her teeth, puttin it through her lip. This weekend, her front tooth was starting to turn blackish! :scared1: AHHHHHHHH Not loose, but continued to get darker!

So we went today. Doctor said the root and nerve are OK, but its probably a bruise (since the gum is purplish too). Tooth will get darker, then start turning yellow, then turn white again. BUT, have to watch over the next 2 or so weeks, when there could be an abcess forming...:sad2: I'm just glad it isn't a dead tooth now, and will just fall out. She also said it is a good thing that she sucks her thumb, as it is stabilizing the tooth right now!! Kinda reminds me of 2nd grade at Hooper Ave. Elementary school when that darn girl Jen picked me up and threw me into the door jam. Ahhh, the memories!!

Good news, though, i left work at 12 to take DD to the dentist, and the "boss" said I didn't need to come back! :woohoo: So I ran some errands, last minute shopping ( I was out of tapes for the videocamera!), and am trying to pack a bit more now. Just got online to stop/hold the mail. DD (Lindsey) has dance class tonight from 6-7pm. It got COLD here quickly. I watched the temperature on my car drop as the day went on! Started at about 60 degrees at noon, and under 50 by 3:00pm!! Brrrrrrr. I need the Carribean!!

I will be charging admission to the 7th floor laundry room, so if you don't have a wristband up there, you need to pay! ;) BTW< I heard that they now have HE washers, and you need the HE soap, so if you don't have it, they do sell the gel dropps in HE soap. The Target Tide packets won't work (which totally stinks since I bought like 6 of them!!!!!!)

Well, gotta go get the cameras and charge them up. Oil change tomorrow and need to sew (take in) my dress and Lindsey's dress. Still need to finish up packing, but seriously almost done. Also got out the Passports today!

See you all real soon!!!!

Ok, Deck 2 laundry wench, Jr. Class wants more info as to the HE soap.

I assume it will just be easier to buy their soap at this point and the Tide packet I got at the target is not going to be any good.

I don't want to do a Brady Bunch episode where I fill the corridor on deck 2 with soapsuds.:laundy:

We have to use DREFT for one of the kiddos due to ecema.

So, what other options are there for my kiddo?:rolleyes1

But doesn't that clean the carpet REALLY well in the end???

Anyone have their eye on the horizon? Wondering how our weather's supposed to look. It's 90 degrees and dry here in California...:cool1:
All packed, 6 bags worth...glad we booked in December so Delta allows us 2 bags each. Leaving for Los Angeles after school Thursday with a stop at Phillippe's (Home of the first French Dip Sandwich). Want to start out the food adventures early. We have a red eye Thursday night arriving Friday morning at 1119 AM. :upsidedow and MNSSHP Friday night. We'll be the one's with the green bands running into everything in sight.:cool2: :cool2:

What other alternatives are there out there that are allergy, dye, scent free?

I gotta know by Friday!! I would hate to spend $$$ for detergent on the ship when I can get it much cheaper at the CVS and leave the extra for the Room Steward.

:woohoo: I think my waking up at the crack of dawn is going to work to my advantage regarding laundry. I have been getting up between 4:30 am & 5:15 am. I would be more than willing to start a load, get a mug of hot chocolate and enjoy the quiet on deck 4 ... I think it is deck 4.

Early morning on the Magic is wonderful! The drink station is on deck 9, pastries come out at 6 a.m., and Sunrise is about 6:30 pm. Deck 4 is quiet, except for a few early joggers/walkers. The hot tubs are usually empty, and the Quiet Cove pool is all mine! I truly love the early morning hours on the Magic since they are so peaceful. It's fun to watch the ship come to life as families get awake and start moving about.

I bought these packets at Walmart that are hypoallergenic, enzyme free, dye free...well you get pic...and the are for HE !!! If you absolutely run into an issue and can't find any, I will be in laundry room Deck #7 or catch me Sat at 3pm and let me know, I'll toss you a few.

As some of us get ready to leave in the next few days I want to pass along my thanks to everyone. I've waited a long time for this cruise, and I really appreciate sharing this thread with you. As you know not everyone outside of the DIS has an appreciation for Disney Cruise Line. All too often I hear, "oh, your doing Disney AGAIN." Thanks to the DIS, and all of you we have been able to share the excitment of our upcoming Disney Magic crusie. Thanks!

I have an HE washer use the HE detergent, but haven't seen any in travel size. My husband also bought packets of Tide. So I did some research to find out if you can use regular detergent in an HE washer and technically you can. The issue is the suds...they say most HE detergents are mostly low sudsing detergent...the probably is if you use less detergent, you may not get the same quality of clean....so for me, if worse comes to worse I will put some of my HE detergent from my big container into a small one and put the whole thing in a ziploc. I or DH will be in the 7th floor laundry should anyone need some.

I am with you! Its great to have a collection of people that understand the love of Disney and understand the anticipation of the cruise.
Although it is painful when we get to 3 months out or so, the wait and chatting with dis friends is part of the fun.

The cats know something is "up" they are stuck to us like glue.
That is the only thing I hate about leaving for vacation. I just worry about the "babies".
One trip my neurotic cat licked all the fur off his belly and the front of his front legs.
We took him to the vet and he said it was because he probably had a lot of anxiety about us being gone, and that was how he dealt with it.:sad1:
So now when we go we have someone do more than just clean their box and give them food and water every day. We have someone come and sit and watch tv with them and hang out a little. :rolleyes1

Ok this is a small world, because our one kitty does the same thing. He just licks all his fur off in places because he's too stressed. He's already started to pull his fur off of a section of his tail. My friend is going to watch our babies and sit with them for a bit some nights to watch a movie. Hopefully that'll help with his anxiety!
