November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing fine...and those of you who were sick are all fine now.

I have some exciting news!! We are making a quick trip to WDW on Apr 6 for the P&P Party & staying the night in Orlando (off site). We bought a car on Ebay and it's in Florida, so we're flying down, picking up the car and taking the car on it's first trip to WDW!

So, we'll probably do some shopping at Character Warehouse for our "real" WDW trip in November.

We aren't telling the kids we're going to the P&P Party, so they'll get TWO surprise trips to WDW this year!!! We would stay in the Orlando area longer than just two days, but we are combining this trip with a visit to my best friend in South Carolina. She's more like a sister to me and I have a "nephew" that is a little over a year old that I'll be meeting for the first time! I've seen a bunch of pictures of him, but I haven't been down there yet to meet him, so I'm REALLY looking forward to that!!

I haven't done much more planning for the November trip yet...we're not doing the DDP, but we will make some ADR's for some character meals. I guess I'll start working on that a couple weeks before I'm able to call to make the reservations.

Jersey week is fun. Last year was our first, we usually go in October. I mage t-shirts and on the back it had a pic of NJ with a star where our town is, and it said Cherry Hill. We met quite a few people from around our area and DD11 even ran into some boys from school that she didn't know were going. It's also funny to go past people and hear them talking about us Jersey families like we're a gang or something.

We were trying to change the first half of our trip from staying at the Boardwalk Villa's to the Beach Club Villa's. Called this evening and on some of the days we wanted there is no availability Not fair..... So that is a no go. We will stick with the Boardwalk for the first half of our trip but we are going to try and now change the second half of our trip to Wilderness Lodge - wish me luck guys

I see from your sig you've done alot of surprise trips. I keep wanting to do that for my girls, but I can never keep my big mouth shut. Also we go at pretty much the same time every year so they know it's coming. This year, however I may have surprise for them. Dh is trying to get his vacation extended so we can go to MVMCP. If he gets it, we will check out of SSR like we're leaving to go home, but then check into the Nickelodeon hotel and go to US &IOA and then the party. They have been wanting to go to the Nick hotel, so I hope DH can get the extension. He works for UPS though and Nov. is just getting into the busy season so it could go either way. I will report with our date changes if he gets it.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you! Hopefully you can get WL the second half of your trip! But, look at the bright side...at least you're going to WDW and staying ON property!!

Now, here's the REALLY WEIRD PART...while it's snowing, it's also lightning and thundering!!! I've never seen such crazy weather in all my life! They're calling for 1-3 inches of snow overnight.

Is Mother Nature confused?! The calendar said it was SPRING a WEEK ago!!! HELLO!!!! I am SO ready for WINTER to be over!! Anyone else?!

Just booked Nov 24-Nov 30 at POR with a whole group of us! 13 total, myself, DH and kids, both sets of grandparents and my sister and her husband! We can't wait!

Oh yeah I didn't notice the dates until just now. Now that I have, Do you realize that it says 12/29-12/4? Should that be 11/29? Or 12/4-12/29? That would be an awesome vacation!!! Just thought I'd point that out to you in case it's a mix up. Good luck keeping your secret! That's a long time to hold that much fun in.

I say it's worth it just once. If your kids can stay up late and they aren't going to be miserable doing it.

My little one endured it. Plus we had her reclining stroller for when she was ready to pass out.

I don't think we will do it this trip. But then again, it's still early

We are definately doing it We did it last trip with DS, We left just after 9pm as DS was tired. But it was still worth it

OMG!!! OOPS!!! Thanks for pointing that out! LOL!!! I wonder how many people have looked at that and thought I'm just stupid or crazy!

I'll change it tonight. Yeah, I would LOVE to be able to spend almost the whole month of December at WDW! Maybe someday.

I don't watch Big Brother, but I doubt that I know him. Unless he's got kids either in kindergarten or 6th grade. Those are the only people I know.

ETA: Ok I just checked out the website and No I oficially don't know him. It says he's from Delray Beach, Fl. via Cherry Hill so I guess he lives in Fl. now. Lucky him.

I haven't tried it but I would definitely be interested. I just found out about them last night and it sounds like a great way to save some dollars. There are alot of threads on the budget board about them and I lurked around to get a general idea. The way I undersdtand it is, someone "leads" the group, setting up an account and takes everyone's pooled money. After your trip, you give her your code and she adds it to the account so you can go in and edit your pictures. After all in the group have edited (you only have 30 days start to finish), the leader gets the cd from Disney, and burns a copy to each member of their pictures only. Hope this makes sense. And if I'm wrong about something, please someone correct me!
