November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Thanks guys. It was a huge releif. Not only because it meant he was feeling much better but also because I am back in school and had 2 tests scheduled for today. One I was already streeing over because I knew I wasn't ready for and I knew I was getting a bad grade (yes, I did make a 68-D) and the other I was ready for (Only missed one question on it, making a 96-A).
But at least those are over with and I can focus on my next tests now.

Glad to see the DS is up and around :cool1:

How's the planning going everyone? :wave2:

I'm passing the time reading up on Restaurants and trying to pick some we haven't tried yet. My kids are so picky and one son has food allergies, so Epcot is hard, but I discovered the international gateway and I think we'll be trying that to get to Cape May for a dinner.

I love seafood and this sounds yummy. Plus they have american for everyone else. Bonus!

I've never planned ahead to view fireworks in Magic Kingdom and we've always seemed to walk off an attraction and just looked up. So, I'm dealing with that.

My DD wants to do the Bibidi Bobidi Boutique.

Anyone else planning on (or done in the past) the Pick a Pearl in Japan? I told DH I want me and DD to do this.

i'm also trying to finish p some eating choices. I'm kinda a picky eater myself as are bothe the DSs. DD will try just about anything. I guess as long as youngest DS can have chicken and macaroni and cheese he will survive...LOL

Is it November yet? I think this is going to be the longest 8 months & 2 weeks :rotfl2: I woke up this morning to about 5 inches of snow, freezing my u know what off, and I am sick of it. I can't wait to be strolling around WS sipping whatever concoction I have decided to try :drinking1 soaking in all the sights, sounds and smells that goes with being in WDW. And best of all, relaxing :woohoo:

I need a Disney fix bad :sad2:

WARNING... I'm gonna get a bit sappy here:

I just wanna say I am so glad Jo started this post for us November (and now october and December ;) ) goers. I have been a member since 2004 and didn't really get to know anyone here when I was planning the 2006 trip we were suppose to take but ended up having to cancel. I am glad I am able to get to know you all a bit better. The Dis is so big that its hard to get to know people personally. So thanks Jo, and all you posters on tis thread.

And now for a non-sappy post... Is anyone doing a pretrip report? If so I'd love a link to it so I can go read it.

And another non-sappy Disney related post...LOL

What is one thing you all are looking forward to doing at Disney World?

I hink for me it is seeing my youngest Dss face when we go to MK. He is ging to be 7 when we go and its his first trip. We were suppose to be there when he turned 5 (that was the trip we cancelled). But he hated mascot type characters and even though he said he wanted to go, once I started planning it he really got upset about going. And I sure didn't want this to scar him for life so we decided it was best to postpne until he was 100% ready. He is so excited about this trip now so I know it was the right decision to wait. And we are letting each of our kids pick a character to eat with. He picked Cinderella...LOL So I am really hoping we can get the castle for breakfast on our forst day. But its gonna be a Sunday so I'm worried it will be tough. But that would be the perfect beginning to our trip for his first visit. Of course I'm looking forward to the other two kids enjoying theirselves as well. And Since they were 4 and 2 last time we went, they can finally experience all those thrill rides with me (especially Becca since she is my fellow thrill ride lover) and me not having to do them alone.

Bama,

My dd will be 17 when we go and I can tell you that it is just as great to see the look in her eyes as it was when she was 5. There is just something about WDW.

This trip is going to be a little different for us. We plan on going without planning out every day. We are going to relax and go with the flow unlike the commando trips we have done in the past. With the exception of the first day, we are hoping to make it in early enough to head straight out to the F&W fest. I have always wanted to go, so hopefully it all works out.

Glad to see the DS is up and around :cool1:

How's the planning going everyone? :wave2:

I am also looking at different restaurants and their menus. We have our favorites that we will return to. Both my older boys will be "adults" (12 & 10)when we go. They really like being able to get adult meals though. So we have been going through menus just to see what they would want. They are excited about that. It is hard for me to plan each day though because I have always planned our ADR based on EMH. I will have to wait until May 1 to really plan my days out.

I also have especially been looking at Epcot and all the restaurants. We have gone to WDW for many years, but we never went to Epcot. I guess we didn't go to Epcot because I wanted to wait until my kids were older. So we are really excited just because it is a new park to us. That also means lots and lots of new rides and attractions.

We are also looking forward to a lot of other new things for us. We are getting Park Hopper tickets for the first time. We are also going to the water parks and Disney Quest for the first time. Last year when we went in June, Haunted Mansion was closed for refurb. So we can't wait to ride HM. My twins are going to be tall enough to to ride Kali River Rapids, which they are really excited about. Also my kids are excited about the new ride Toy Mania at Disney Studios. We have also watched clips of the new parade that will be at DHS. We may even get to go to a MVMCP. I have heard they start in mid November.

Also we will be a Grand Gathering for part of our time. So I am reading up on others posts about GG special events.

Anyway... sorry to be so long. There is just so many new things that we will be doing. So my planning right now is just learning all I can about the new things we will be doing. I have a lot to learn about Epcot, so I try to read as much as I can every time I see something about a ride there or a restaurant there.

I agree with it taking forever to get to November. It is freezing here today, but the ice finally went away yesterday, although we are supposed to get some snow this afternoon. I look at Orlando's weather forecasts every day and dream.

I haven't tried any concoctions at the WS, but plan too this trip. I love just taking everything in while we are there. I need a Disney fix too :sad1:.

Please add us to the list. Noveber 2-8 at Saratoga Springs. Thanks

Good Morning OctoNovembeCember'ers!:flower3:

How's everyone???

I have been going crazy moving furniture around the house. Can someone please explain the logical reasoning behind why, when you buy ONE piece of furniture for your house, you MUST then move all existing pieces of furniture to other rooms to make room for it?????

Well, at least I am staying focused...buying furniture and redoing the house! The painter dude came this morning to look at two rooms we are painting. Well, one of them he already painted when we moved in (In August) but i just don't like the color, so there goes more money...

If I don't stop soon, we won't have any Disney funds. Um, not gonna happen.
;)

Well, Sandy, I am glad Blake is feeling better. It's no fun when the kids are sick. I am so ready for the cold weather to be gone. I want the kids to go outside and play and breathe in that fresh air.

As far as this thread goes, I am glad i started it too, to get to know each of you! I am part of the MAYer thread- we all went last MAY to WDW- and we all still talk daily, multiple times even. I think I talk to them more than some of my family members, hahaha. It's a lot of fun to develop friendships that go deep. If you are able to meet up with them, it makes it even more fun, so I am hoping some of you will have the chance to meet during your trips.

As for planning- um, I think I saved $40 for the trip this week, maybe? LOL. I jhave to check with TourGuide Mike for the dates I get to call for ADR's but it's sometime in April for me. I do have a list of where we want to eat...

Question- anyone eaten at Garden Grill that could tell me about it??
Here are some places I have eaten...if anyone wants me to answer any questions about a restaurant, I'd be glad to :

By Parks~ (and which meal we had)

EPCOT:
Le Cellier (L,D)
San Angel Inn (L,D)
Akershus (B) (Princess breakfast)
Les Chefs de France (D)
Cantana de San Angel (L) (CS)
Boulangerie Patisserie (Snacks- a must stop every trip!)

Magic Kingdom:
Liberty Tree Tavern (L,D)
The Plaza restaurant (D)
Columbia Harbor House (L,D) (CS)
Cosmic Rays (L) (CS)
Pecos Bills (L,D) (CS)

MGM AKA- DHS ;)
Hollywood Brown Derby (L)
Mama Melrose's (D)
Sci-Fi Dine In (L)
Toy Story Pizza Planet (L) (CS)
Backlot Express (L) (CS)

Animal kingdom-
Flame Tree Barbeque (L) (CS)

Resorts:
Kona (D)
California grill (D)

Downtown Disney:
Cap'n Jack's (L)
Fulton's (D)
Wolfgang Puck (L)

And I think that's all. We are not big breakfast eaters- so we usually have a protein bar and water in transit on the way to the parks, and eat a CS meal around 11 am before the crowds get insane at lunchtime. Then we like to have a sit down meal for supper.

Welcome to all new people, and to those changing their ressies- I will go now and update the list.

Okay, ya'll have a great day!

Jo

Let me know if anything else changes...

Wow Jo, y'all have ate at a lot of different places/ Did you like Le Celliers? Its on the list of ones we would like to try. I think the only breakfasts we will do will be CRT and Chef Mickeys. While I love breakfast, the others aren't as into eating it as I am, so we will be doing quicky breakfasts most morning too.

Oh, another question for everyone...Do you fly or drive? Unless there is an awesome Ding rate we will be driving. Its about 12 hours not counting stops for us to drive. So right now we are planning on leaving around midnight and me driving the first half while DH sleeps and him driving the second half while I nap. I figure I can stay up the night before so I can sleep while the kids are school on the 31st, or after DH gets home from work. Then I'll be wide awake to drive. But I would love to fly since its just an hour flight...even though it'd be my first time ever on a plane.

We always drive 17 hours. DH is afraid to fly. He will drive pretty much the whole way. We plan to leave Friday early, very early to beat that DC traffic, and then stop after 13 hours in Jacksonville for the night. Get up and finish the last 4 hours to WDW to arrive mid/late morning.

In our past 2 trips we drove down at night and DH drove most all the way. He would sleep the day we would leave so he could stay up all night. Plus, he loves to drive. :confused3

Gosh, if I only had to drive 12 hours, I'd be going to WDW twice a year instead of once for sure!
