November '08 ~ What Do You Mean It's Over? Should we plan another???

Sandy, since you are all knowing :worship: about these dinner ressies, I have a question! :)

Is the 180 day mark your CHECK IN date or your CHECK OUT date? We're DVC members and ressies there go by CHECK OUT date! :headache:

THANKS!! :goodvibes

LOL, I can't get DH to admit that
:lmao:

Actually I don't know about DVC but I know nonDVC goes by check in date.

I just go to thinking about how I am going to have to do an absentee ballot for the Presidential election since I will be in DW on voting day. wonder if that will make the parks less crowded...LOL

That is a good question about ADRS!! We will be there during Thanksgiving week so obviously I need to make them as soon as possible as well. We will be staying in a timeshare for most of the first part of the week but in the pop for the last two days. So my question is does that count or do I still have to wait and call each day or should I wait till after the last day of the week for those days and call and make all of them at once. Does that make sense?

HELP!!!

I think you can only do the 180 plus 10 from your check in at Pop, so you would have to call each day before that for the ones while you are in the timeshare.

Where are you planning to eat on Thansgiving? We originally were going that week but thankfully the kids fall break week changed. I was planning on Le Celliers for Thanksgiving when we were planning that week.

I vote Donald Duck for President...:lmao:

Sandy- I wasn't rubbing my snow in... I was SHARING it. As a matter of fact, I'd scoop it all up and mail it to you if I could. :rotfl2:

This is EXACTLY what I am hoping for. It is very important to vote so everyone needs to stay home that week!!

Hi. Has anyone ever been there at Thanksgiving time ? We have been to WDW several times and I am trying to talk my husband into going at Thanksgiving. How bad are the crowds?:confused3

I was there the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year and it was pretty crowded. We got to MK for park opening and it was pretty dead, but things picked up around 11:00. If you fastpass rides, it isn't too terrible. You gotta figure though, pretty much the whole U.S. has Thurs and Fri. off.

I've never been for Thanksgiving, but i have been for Christmas and for New Years, and I will tell you that if the crowds at T'giving are anything like when I went, I will never ever, never ever ,never ever, never ever, did I say never yet? I mean NEVER think of going again. One day in the MK a Cm told us that they had let in 86,000 people by 2 in the afternoon. 86,000!!!! Just in the MK. It was gross.

Here's a thread that shows pics of how crowded "crowded" is. It is pretty accurate. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1358599

I don't want to deter you from going. I just want everyone who goes, to go into it knowing that 1) yes, it's crowded, and 2) yes it might be miserable at times. If you go into it with knowledge, you won't be disappointed when you get there.

We went the week of Thanksgiving in 2005 and the only park we thought was overcrowded (for us) was MK. This was on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I was a little worried that our entire trip was going to be wall to wall people but it wasn't. However, that is the only day we did MK. The rest of the parks were busy but not to bad. If I remember right the wait times were never very long.

That is why we decided to give the week of Nov. 9th-16th a try this time. I wanted this trip to be more of a relaxed and go with the flow trip vs. our prior divide and conquer trips.

I completely understand how crowded it will be during Thanksgiving, however I have dealt with the hot summer crowds at the end of June beginning of July the last few years and can't imagine this would be worse. Even if the crowds are worse at least the weather will be more comfortable. Have no choice but to go at this time or summer as to not take my daughter out of school, she gets a week off for Thanksgiving. Would be great to experience Disney in comfort and to be there to see the Christmas decorations.

I got a pin code for April :cheer2: and I can use it for July and November also   Im on the phone right now I got the code via E-MAIL

Thats a good point. Maybe we can even go the week after. I know we would have fun either way!

We went the day after Thanksgiving Nov 06 and there was hardly anyone there. Well compared to Mid June in 05, which stunk green fungus it was so crowed!

Right after Thanksgiving but before Christmas is our new favorite time to go. The crowds were so managable and the weather was purr-fect!

Just booked today Im so oooo excited
SPLIT stay.....

11-22 to 11-30 POP Century Never been!
11-30 to 12-07 WILDERNESS Lodge - Also Never been!!!

P.s. also aboutthe crowd levels in November - Ive been 2005 and 2006.

2005 was very crowded the day before and after thanksgiving. But I remember saying the Monday after the weekend was a ghost town! We loved it so much we are coming back for the 3rd year in a row!
