Nov Vs. Dec

we flew on thanksgiving a few years back and wentshopping on black friday! its really good

we didnt find the parks to busy at all

We've been twice end Nov - one year flew thanksgiving itself and it was a great time to go. Quiet but all the xmas decorations up.

So are the crowds not too bad the week following Thanksgiving? I thought it might be busy the weeks before and after it?

The Americans only get a couple of days off so they are only there for the Thanksgiving weekend, after that its quiet again. I prefer November to December as the weather tends to be better, plus its quieter :goodvibes

We just avoided the parks until Sunday and it was fine.

US visitors will leave sunday at the latest to be back in work/school Monday.

Flying in on thanksgiving was great - airport was quiet, no line for immigration and for DH driving there were no cars on the road - like xmas day here. We ate at Friendleys - all the I drive chains were open as usual.

If you are a shopper - black friday not to be missed.

Its a sales day, its a massive shopping day, the shops will be heaving but you can get incredible bargains! I got a pair of Sketchers for £5 one year :goodvibes

not heard of it before - what day is it and does it happen every year?

It happens the day after Thanksgiving and thanksgiving is the 4th thursday of november so black friday is 25th november this year. The outlets normally open at midnight(the thursday going into the friday) to start midnight madness sales most other malls open at 5am or 6am been to them a few times and the sales are great always got loads just to know it does be quite busy but just adds to the fun :) and they are the best sales I have ever been too :) Im planning on going again this year for that time of the year and the sales too

Black friday is the equivalent of our january sales.

We went to the premium outlet at Ellenton - it was heaving had to park miles away and horse mounted security - had a great time (I love the sales)

Been over thanks giving and yes was busy but again if u get there early and just do a few things its fine. We go 8 th till 22 nd this year so just miss it. Love the beginning of december though as well. The time we go i think we could do both mvmcp and mvmhp but not doin either this year. Whichever u choose are both good choices but if u dont like the crowds go to a wter park or dtd for a while or disc cove.

Thanks for your opinions. I am hoping to avoid the crowds, I'll be taking an 18 month old baby so I really don't want it to be too busy. Last year we went Nov 8th til 22nd and it did start to get busy in the run up to Thanksgiving, especially at the weekends. I loved the Christmas decorations though and MVMCP, does anyone know when they start going up?

I would say start of November without a doubt.
We went for 3 weeks starting th eend of November and on 1st December temperatures plummeted and we were frozen. It didnt ruin the holiday but it did make us think twice before venturing out.
When we returned I looked into temps in Nov and Dec and found that November is usally fairly warm where as Dec it is point luck sometimes hot sometimes not.
We were there over thanksgiving and Black friday wa ssomething to experience if you happen to be there but not sure I would book purely for that as the sales seemed to last the whole time we were there anyway.
Hope that helps xxx

either is good in terms of crowds....beginning of nov or beginning of dec..

i've been both times and both are good..

as for weather, both times can be very cold....so you have to be prepared for cold weather either way..

if you can manage to come in time to still go to the halloween party and then also go to the xmas party, that would be really fun!!!
