Nov 6, 2011 Mickey's Mexican Fiesta

Finally got all of my magnets created and personalized but when I went to print them, I ran out of ink in the middle of one of them! Arrgggh--wasted some expensive magnet paper. Looks like I will be adding an ink cartridge to my ever expanding shopping list before we leave. Why do I think I will be up all night the night before we leave?

One more week!!!
One more week!!!
One more week!!

I am just a little excited.

Sad news...I am taking a quick trip to Atlanta to put my dog, Bolt, to sleep. He has bone cancer and there is not much else we can do at this point. My kids are super upset. And I am not looking forward to flying from Alaska to Atlanta then LA - with a 2 year old:scared1:. It going to be a long couple of days!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We have been there (I must admit I cried as much as I have at funerals for people as I did at the veterinarian's office). I hope that the trip is just the thing to help your family deal with Bolt's loss and think of him in a better place.:littleangel:

PS - how did the Rocky Horror Picture Show performance go (I've been following your pre-trip report quietly from the sidelines)?

Oh Joni! I'm sad with you. We have been there too many times (married nearly 29 years and many, many furry babies. Wish I could be there to hold you after... I will have an extra long hug ready for you. Cindy
.

Thanks!

Welcome Sand! I'd be happy to drop off some little surprises if you'll message me your cabin number and who's with you.

To all: I finished my FE today. Since I don't sew, I'm sorta waffly about how it came out, but my heart was in the right place. It's PERKY anyway!

Cindy

I am sure it looks great! I am finishing mine right now!

Thank you. I will update the prey report tomorrow night. It is not so fun posting on a phone.

FOUR!!!!!!!

I'm so excited I cain't stand it (yup, I'm from TX and we really DO say cain't)

My very crafty friend, Mary, helped me out with my FE goodies...she brought everything she'd done to me last night...I am BLOWN AWAY. I'm so hyped to be able to hand these things out...whoo boy! They make my magnets look so paltry...ah, well.

OH, I printed out a couple of recipes for the ladies among us (or the menfolk, if they are so inclined, dontcha know), as there was a mention of a recipe exchange. I will be dropping these in pockets during the week.

Okay folks, I'm SO ready to meet and greet. It's gonna be WONDER-ful!!!! Cindy

I'm so happy everyone's super excited about the cruise. At least I know I'm not the only crazy one here. LOL

I'm so excited to meet all of you!:cool1:

Good morning everyone....can't believe the cruise is almost here! Just wanted to give you all a bit of a weather warning- currently the forecast is predicting an 80% chance of rain on Friday and a 40% chance on Sunday.:umbrella: I know, so uncharacteristic for Cali at this time of year. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I know a bunch of you are flying in early to go to DL and I want you to be prepared.
Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

I can't believe it is here! We fly out tomorrow evening. I'm so excited. Looking forward to the meet and greet on Sunday.

I have a few errands to run tomorrow, but we should be ready to go.

Safe travels to everyone!

:yay:

I'm still missing some cabin numbers and I have plenty of magnets if you want to me to drop you some and I don't have your cabin (you should know who you are, I messaged you!). We arrive later than some and may miss the 3:10 meet up. cindy@csthompson.com

Everyone is okay - just everything that can go wrong, has. Troy and the kids got stuck in Bethel (Alaska) on Wed. night and did not get out of Alaska until after 3 on Thr. That put them into Disneyland on Thur night - late. I had to deal with all of the luggage and the 2 yo by myself. Disneyland Express dropped me off in the parking lot with my 2 year old and 11 pieaces of luggage with no one to help me to the hotel - a good ways away. Everyone who came by said that it was not there job "but someone would be by soon" took 20 mins to get someone to help me. Really?
I picked Disneyland Hotel to stay at. BAD decision. The pool area is uncovered but the front building and lobby is destroyed! So much for my kiddo's limo suprise in the morning. All of my pictures are going to be horrible. I wanted a bellman to take my luggage to GCH so I could meet the limo there but I keep getting told that they won't help me. How come Walt Disney World will tote your luggage all the way across the World but Disneyland refuses to take your luggage across the street? :confused3 I have not been impressed with customer service here. Everyone has been really nice but no one will step up and actually help me. The standard response is "...that is not my job, you will have to find someone else".

I don't think I will ever stay at a Disney hotel again. I have a really bad taste in my mouth. I tried to switch hotels but GCH did not have any open rooms.

This is in addition to recieving bad news from Atlanta after I left that resulted in us having to go back to the hotel for an extended part of the day on Friday to deal with the problem. Then it has been little annoying issues that by themselves would be fine but they seem to be happening alot this trip...ie: rain, missing monorails by just a second, Big Thunder Ranch not opening, broken elevators, lost key cards, broken rides, broken rum bottles, forgotten FE gifts, that I worked hard on!! - just to name a few.

Sorry - I don't mean to be a downer. I am just frustrated. Maybe all the bad things have happened and everything will be great starting in the morning. My fingers (and toes) are crossed!!! I need some Pixie Dust!!! :wizard:

I am so sorry to hear you are having a bad time. PLEASE contact a resort manager and let them try and sort things out.

And things can only get better and the cruise will be great.

So here I am waiting to board. The child in me wants to start jumping up and down but that migh be slightly embarrassing. LOL I wonder if anyone else from our meet up is here yet?

SOO sad to be home :sad1:! It was our first Disney cruise, and the kids absolutely loved it. Only a few minor annoyances (like a cabin fridge that refused to get cold), but overall it was a truly magical experience for our kids.

I just want to give a shout-out to all the Fish-Extender folks. Being newbies at this, we didn't really know what to expect, nor were we really prepared. All I can say is WOW!! Some of you really went the extra mile - the Mickey cut-out/flip thing, the custom magnets, the cards of each day of the cruise, play-doh, candy, toys, etc., etc. Each day brought a new surprise, and our kids loved finding the goodies. We felt guilty that we weren't better prepared with our own FE goodies!

If I can make one suggestion for the future though - a single piece of candy is more than enough, considering how many desserts there are onboard. Then again, it may have been because we were the first post-halloween cruise. But it was also neat to get Canadian candies that we'd never seen before, esp. the lollipops with the maple-leaf - very cool!

Thanks again to everyone - I hope you all had as much fun as we did!

It was so exciting to meet everyone! I had an awesome time. I hope you all did also.

Thought it was really nice ... very different from the Caribbean. We loved Paradise Beach at Puerto Vallarta! But dealing with the disembarkment at LA is something I never want to have to go through again. What a disaster compared to "having breakfast and then walking off the ship with no lines at all" in Port Canaveral. One of the crew members (officer) said he hates dealing with LA disembarkment. He wants to get back East!

Hi, did anyone get something signed by all the characters? Can you tell me who all signed it? We cruise next week and I'd like to know which characters will be onboard so I can prepare autograph pages for each character. Thanks!

I think we got almost all of them, but it's definitely possible we missed some. Here are the ones I know we got:

mickey
minnie
donald
daisy
goofy
pluto
stitch
chip
dale
belle
snow white
ariel
cinderella
peter pan

The only one I know we missed for sure was Capt. Hook, because my kids didn't wan't his autograph :) We really wanted one from Jasmine, but we didn't see any of the characters from Aladdin. Good luck getting them, and don't forget your pillow cases!
