We are going Nov. 5-10 and staying at the Beach Club resort. It is already sold out except the conciere level. We already have our room booked but does anyone know what is going on that it is already sold out or is it usually that way? This is our 4 th time going in 2 years but our first time staying on site.

Wow! Can't answer your question at all but we just booked at BC for the beginning of October. We've never been before and I have no idea what to expect. Does anyone know if BC normally is pretty full?

My understanding is that this is the dates for the dreaded 'NJ Teacher's Convention'. They don't meet at WDW, it's just that NJ schools are out and a lot of folks come to WDW that week. There might be some overlap with Soap Week also.

 Of course, we arrive the 8th! I am seriously thinking about starting off at Universal that weekend.

I checked room availability last year before we went that week and it showed things were pretty full but when we got there things were pretty empty. Except of course for the weekend. Longest line we waited in was 15 mins. I think people are holding reservations for more than one resort until discounts are available(or not) and then they will book the best deal. Just a thought.:)

:(dylansdad- I hope you are right. I go in the value season because of the low crowds. Does anyone else have any insight about this convention?

It's not a convention in WDW. The NJ teachers have annual meetings every year (in NJ) about this time. Schools are not in session during the meetings (this year it's 11/7 &11/8), so many families choose to visit WDW at this time. Some even take their children out of school the entire week. FWIW, this year Veteran's Day (a Holiday for many) is on the following Monday (11/11).

The EPCOT resorts are especially popular during the Food & Wine Festival which runs from mid-October to just before Thanksgiving.

Even though the on site resorts are booked, it doesn't necessarily follow that the parks will be crowded. Unless the off-site bookings are strong and lots of "locals" choose to go that weekend, the parks may actually feel rather "empty" The WDW resorts alone cannot possibly "crowd" all four parks plus the waterparks, DD, and all the other attractions. IMHO, that's why Saturdays are so crowded at the MK.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi All-

Now I'm a little nervous! DH and I will be there 11/3-11/10. What sort of crowds are we talking? Is it primarily the weekend that is so busy, or will it be the whole week? Any info would be much appreciated!!!

Erin

honestly, the crowds last year at this time were not bad at all. at the mk, the longest we waited was 30 minutes. you'll be fine. :)

We're going 11/8 - 11/17. We usually go the first week in March and from what I can gather, this particular week in Nov. may be a little busier that 'normal' Nov. weeks, but nothing like the March week we're used to. I don't expect 30 - 45 min. waits for rides, at least until early afternoon and that's the time we usually hop to Epcot to do the 'Beers of the World' tour.

Thanks for the info. I had looked into the Veteran's Day weekend and found BC & AKL both sold-out, and could only get Poly at rack rates. Not worth it for just a long weekend...
