and another question.....
When should I expect to see papers fom Disney in my mailbox? Has anyone else gotten them yet?

Deb,

You probably won't see anything till about 3 weeks out and if memory serves me correctly, they'll be delivered UPS.

As for excursions, I haven't decided about Nassau, but I may go back to Atlantis. Castaway Cay will be parasailing and the Personal Watercraft Eco-Tour, plus some time on the adult beach Serenity Bay.:cool1:

Anyone else?

We're doing the Catamaran reef sail and snorkel. Very seriously considered staying on the ship-but that one seems to get pretty good reviews.

Ok, we need some more activity on this thread!

I'm calling perfect gift right now and ordering a gift basket for the kids. I don't want to try to pack sand buckets and I definitely don't want to pay Castaway Cay pricing!

Also, I keep thinking about a day room at the Atlantis. I missed out on the $99 rate (we just booked this cruise a little over a month ago). Is anyone going to the Atlantis?

Have fun,
Jennifer

I have been thinking about the sand toys too. My boys are older and would rather play in the ocean, but without waves there won't be any boarding.
Trying to find beach toys in Colorado during halloween season is going to be tough!

Hey all, doin' the doc dance today!!!:dancer: WaHOO!!!

This cruise I got the new document package with baggage tags separate from the contract booklet.

Ya got me all excited for nothing! I saw the UPS guy pull up, stop in front of my house and then he went to the neighbors. I was so excited I was almost jumping up and down. I had to go eat a bunch of cookies to feel better.

Maybe tomorrow!!

Hey Deb,

When you see the UPS truck pull up you have to run out and grab the driver and shake them till the document package falls out of their pocket! After a while they won't make deliveries to your neighborhood unless they have a DCL treasure chest to hand to you!:scared1:

Now, usually when the UPS guy drops off a package for me there is glitter leaving a trail from the truck to my door. Something like that tends to make them rememember you.

I am kinda hopeful that they arrive when the kids are home. It'll be more exciting for them.

So, our docs will arrive soon? I printed some stuff off the DCL web site. Is this the same stuff?

The document package you get through UPS contains:

- a booklet with facts and information about the ship, dining, customs & immigration, children's programs, and all kinds of other stuff.

- your cruise contract (in the form of a small booklet with tear-out pages). Included in this booklet is the signature form for your cruise contract, emergency contact information form, credit card authorization form, transfers (if you included any DCL ground transfers in your cruise purchase), and some other things. You will need to take this contract booklet with you on the cruise.

- Bahamas immigration document

- your colored DCL baggage tags that you will attach to your luggage before you give it to the porter at the cruise terminal.

mwaldron,

Thanks for the ego boost, but I wouldn't say I'm an expert...just done it a couple of times! :goodvibes

Deb, thanks for saying hi on my other thread. Can we do a kid (and kid at heart) roll call? My DS8 and DD(turning)7 will be in different kids' clubs, so I'd love to know if they have some company. DH and I will be the 2 adults doing as little as humanly possible while still allowing the kids to have fun. We are SUCH lazy vacationers....we work too hard in our real lives.

I have 2 sons.. 10 and 13, 4th and 7th grades. I don't know if they will be into the kids club stuff or not. This is our get a taste of what a cruise is like cruise.

We watched the DCL show that was on the travel channel last night. I kept saying I can't wait to be there! The kids aren't so impressed yet, but bring up room service and their eyes get big.

Keeping an eye open for those documents today. Deb, this is our second cruise: We took a Carnival 4 day in 2003 and were really underwhelmed. It's the Disney mystique that has us giving it another try. DD won't know until we surprise her the night before; and I think that I'm missing experiencing her excitement build. We surprised DS with a birthday Disney world trip 2 years ago, and it was priceless, the look on his face (at 4am) when we told him we were about to fly to Orlando!

none here.

I wish we had the ability to surprise the kids like that! Too many things to work around to keep it a secret around here.
