Hi all. Never did the first set of questions so thought I would get going with the second ones so you have some idea who i am. We are getting soooo close

Do you like living where you live? (and remind us again where that is?) I live in a suburb of Chicago near Joliet and yes we like it.

What's your ultimate vacation? Cruising, of course on Disney. Would love to sometime visit Ireland and Hawaii

Favorite weekend activity? Camping during the summer

If you could have lunch with someone famous who would it be? Would like to go back in time and visit with Walt himself

Favorite city? I agree with Walt Disney World. Another favorite is Sedona Arizona

Favorite drink? Strawberry Daiquiri

Favorite and least favorite holidays? Favorite is Christmas. Least favorite is Casimir Pulaski Day as that is one I dont get off work

Are you a morning person? Hate getting up early but once I am up then am good to go

Are you a Disney nut? Of Course

Favorite Park? Magic Kingdom
Favorite resort? Caribbean Beach
Favorite restaurant? Ohana
Favorite ride? Splash Mountain
Favorite Character? Thats a toughie but I would have to say Mickey, Sebastion and Stitch. Cant narrow it down to just one. Love most of them

Alright folks, it's time to get back on the diet first thing tomorrow morning. Yep, that's my plan!! :thumbsup2 Let's hope I stick with it. :rolleyes1

This weekend was a gorge fest! The GS cookies came in. I ate a whole sleeve of the Lemon Chalets. Dang those things are good. :sad2:

Today we had to drive the cookies into the city to drop them off at the office. DD has become a huge fan of that show Cake Boss on TLC. So since I practically have to drive right past it to get into the city, we promised her a stop. She got extra excited when Buddy came down and waved to her. It's a small place. She's 9. He caught her staring. He seemed genuinely nice but then escorted his consult upstairs and away from the crowd. Two of his sisters were there including DD's favorite, the blond (I can't remember the names). She was so excited but they were busy so we just got our food and ate it. She got this cupcake with a huge rose on it (for breakfast :rolleyes1). I got 2 slices of crumbcake thinking that DH wanted one. Nope. Me, being the piglet at most of one at the bakery and the second when I got home. Oops. There went that diet.

After we dropped the cookies off (3 trips as DH had to sit in the car since we were double parked) we then found a spot and walked around Times Square. Went to Toys R Us and played there for awhile. Then we went to Bryant Park because the Christmas shops are all set up. DD found something she wanted so I'll head back there tomorrow at lunch and pick it up for Christmas.

Then off to Katz's Deli. After I ate an entire potato knish, I had no room for the pastrami sandwich so I packed it up and brought it home. Shared it with DD for dinner tonight (after that second piece of crumb cake:rolleyes:). But I forgot to mention that we found this candy store called Economy Candy. They have every piece of candy ever made, I swear. It's really small but everything is packed in tight. I was lucky as I only bought sugar free chocolate for myself. But the bill came to $40 with everything else. :rotfl2: They have all the old fashioned candy as well as the new stuff. We got the wax bottles with the liquid in it for DD. She hasn't tried them yet. She's probably still full from the day. :goodvibes

I went shopping tonight for yogurt, flax seed and oranges. Back to the diet full swing tomorrow. I may weigh myself next Saturday because I certainly don't want to get on the scale tomorrow morning.

So have a great Monday all!! It's less than 2 weeks before th cruise. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

On the list I got it says DD. All of the names on my list have gender so let me know if you'd like me to send you mine.

Skylar, Taylor and Ryan (Jen-n-greg's) don't have it on my list either. I went with 2 girls and a boy. Hope I'm right.

Sorry. I don't mean to. I have been in college for the last four years and just had a ten week break. It is amazing how much I can get done when not in school. Just excited and I am trying to fill time.

I know , I'm just teasing! My problem is I just need to get my lazy butt in gear! That's great taht you are on a ten week break. I just need to borrow you for alittle while to get things done around here! :thumbsup2

Happy Monday everyone!

Just think--there is only ONE more Monday that will be spent off the ship!!!!! Holy Crows Toes!!!!

I fluctuate between sheer excitement, and sheer panic when I think of how close we are to sailing. I panic because I feel like I'm going to forget to pack something/not have enough room....;) I've already packed my oldests summer clothes (day) clothes, and I've gone though my middle man's clothes, and sorted out his summer stuff. I need to make sure Aubrey has summery clothes that fit her because as a baby they grow so fast, yanno? Then I need to tackle dinner-ware. I really don't want to buy a bunch of stuff...but none of Cohen's non jeans/shorts fit him anymore..;( Nor do many of his collard shirts....:(

I have my dinner clothes pretty much figured out with the exception of 3 "cruise casual" outfits. I have a bunch of tops...I'm just struggling in the bottoms arena.

I'm trying not to overpack...but it's always something that happens.

Anyone have any good packing lists? Should I bring any "rain" gear? I was thinking about those plasticy cheap panchos? Jen and I have been brainstorming...and I think we have a pretty good handle on what we need...but it's always nice to see other packing lists to make sure we're not forgetting anything...

Allison...

It's Girl Scout cookie time?? Uh oh.....;)

I am thinking about hiring myself out in January. I think I might get bored once school is done. ( yea right) But you are right, I think it is about time for you to start packing. Yippy Skippy Can't wait to meet a mom who thinks she is lazy.

there is a great packing list on one of these forums. It has tips and everything. The bad thing is that I don't remember where I found it. I guess a search might turn it up.

Steph - For cruise casual I usually just pack one pair of pants and lots of nice shirts. I'm never wearing them for long so they don't really get dirty. I put them on for dinner and change immediately following. So maybe 2 hours max for each nights x 3 nights. I wear my pants during a regular work day much longer so I figure I'm totally smelly or anything. :goodvibes

Well, maybe not lazy, but more like unmotivated.:confused3 I just can't seem to get out of my own way....:)

Packing list idea: While perusing the boards I came across a suggestion to pack a clear over the door shoe organizer to put all your toiletries and small stuff in over the bathroom door to help keep it uncluttered. I picked one up and figure I'll give it a try.

I have to finish up my FE gifts because I keep buying more stuff everytime I go out! It's addicting!

Yes, Linda, we were in category 9 on deck 1 in connecting cabins. Now we are in the solid-wall verandah type of category 6 on deck 6 in non-connecting cabins. And we went from the very front of the ship to just about as far aft as you can get. :)

I am severely sensitive to cigarette smoke (migraines), so it may be that our sliders become one huge window, and I am somewhat sad that we won't be in connecting cabins, but that just means we'll have to divide our time between our cabin and Judy & Charlie's that is the next one over. I'm glad we are at least in adjoining cabins.

I can't believe we will board the Magic 2 weeks from today!!!! I am really starting to get excited, even though the only clothes I've figured out so far are my formal night and semi-formal night attire. LOL!

I'm totally psyched! On the Wonder I'd paid for a Navigator's verandah we couldn't use so I'm thrilled to get one for free!! Maybe we'll even be able to use it this time!:woohoo::yay:

Motion sickness.

Past cruisers--Did you have any? Did you take anything? What did you take?

I'm trying to decide what to do. I've cruised 3X before without any major sickness--I do believe I took Bonine here and there. My concern is that this past summer we took a ferry, and it was rough seas...and I got uber nauseous. I would just take Bonine daily as a precaution....BUT...I'm still nursing Aubrey sometimes, and it's said not to be compatible.

I am going to get the ever so pretty sea bands, I guess...and hope these work???

What about your kids? Anyone's kids get seasick? Are you planning on bringing anything for them? Bonine makes a "kids" one, but I can't seem to find it in stores....and it is different than the adult one...and may make the kids drowsy. Thing is I don't want to "wait" and see....if they get sick...because then it'll be too late...

You thoughts?

Can I ask what your stateroom number is? My DH really wants to get a Cat. 6 HC stateroom and they keep telling us they're full. Are you in either 6154 or 6654? Those are the HC all the way in the back of the boat. Thanks.

No, neither of us is upgraded to a HC stateroom. I think those are the very last ones as far aft as possible, and we are a couple of cabins away from them.

Thank you for responding. :thumbsup2 And yes, they are as far aft as you can get. We like those staterooms. ;)

I was worried about same thing and recently posted question on DIS Boards - see this link for helpful advice

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2330559&referrerid=247093

I think the pharmacist told me kids take 1/2 of Bonine pill - this is hard to decide what to do - don't want any of us seasick but hate to medicate.

Any other thoughts?

Well...I was able to move my sis one cabin (well one in between) over from us--the connecting room still isn't available.

Anyone have cabin #8570??? This is the room connects to mine....and I'm just scared for the poor ppl in the other cabin with my 6, curious 3year old, and 14 month old. I don't want to disturb anyone...I'd much rather it be Jen and her clan...hehe...

I can't understand why someone would want a connecting room....if they aren't connecting with anyone...hehe....Maybe they cruised in that room before....

Who knows...at least we're closer...originally we were on opposite sides of the ship....

I purchased kids sea bands for my 8 year old for our first cruise. She gets horribly car sick. She also takes a quarter of a Bonnie table sometimes. On the last cruise I gave her a quarter of a Bonnie every morning, didn't do anything over night, and she wore the sea bands none stop (except in the water), and she did great.
