Can I just buy a case a water and bring it on with my suitcases. Do I just put a sticker on saying what room it needs to go to? Or do I have to put the water in a suitcase?

Thanks

I think the pharmacist told me kids take 1/2 of Bonine pill - this is hard to decide what to do - don't want any of us seasick but hate to medicate.

Any other thoughts?

Make sure you double check about Bonine (meclizine) with the Dr or pharmacist cause my pharmacist just about gave birth to a rhinoceros and died when I questioned using Bonine for my children. Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate) is approved for use in kids (and is made in a kids' formula) The company "Bonine" makes a kids' formula that is impossible to find and is a DIFFERENT DRUG (Cyclizine) Clear as mud huh?

I'm going to give my one kid who is prone to motion sickness in the car Dramamine prophylactically and the other two I'm gonna wait and see. I can't take any of it myself so I'm bringing sea bands...I don't usually experience sea sickness but of course this trip will be the exception since I can't take the drugs...

I'm jealous Allison that you get to go to the Cake Boss bakery! I used to work (and will again) at a really awesome bakery/espresso place here but I'd love to try his stuff too!

Awesome on the upgrades!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I'm still holding out hope that I'll get my free upgrade to a Cat 3 (we're already in a 4 so...) :lmao: (I'm not holding my breath :rotfl:) The best I can REALLY hope for is that that person who is in between steph and my rooms decides to hightail it out of the connecting room ;)

And as far as dress-up for the little kids--sue me but I'm totally breaking the rules for my 7 year old DS. He owns one pair of grass-stained khaki's--I'll put him in those but they won't last he's a 7-year old boy "pants" is synonymous with "napkin". Other nights he'll wear shorts--they are totally "presentable" one pair is even "dressy", he'll wear dress shirts/polos and everyone can stare and snicker and...I don't care :mad: :sad2: :rolleyes: :snooty: Hopefully you all still want to be my friends ;):thumbsup2

I don't think that would work cause you're not allowed to check liquids--any liquids you bring need to be carried on...

And, if you board before the rooms are ready, you will be taking it around the ship with your carryon until the room is ready.:sad2:

I hear mixed comments on this. Sometimes they let you put a room sticker on a case and they will deliver it to your room. Other times they tell you no. Personally, we just bring refillable bottles and fill them up at the drink station. The water tastes fine to us and I'm too cheap and lazy to either bring it or buy it. :goodvibes

Jen - don't worry about his cruise casual clothes. He'll be fine! :thumbsup2

Well I'm glad you'll still be my friend cause my kid really likes your kid :rotfl2::thumbsup2
If I ever worried about what other people were wearing, I'd have no friends. :goodvibes:rotfl2: And I'm glad your kid likes mine because the feeling is mutual. Now if she could just kick her sinus infection, all will be well. :sick:

Please note that I took Bonine on our first cruise and got very sick from the meds. I was worried about being seasick and took it as a precaution just in case - the OTC stuff from the drug store -- thinking it couldn't hurt. Well it did. I was so sleepy and actually slept for the first 2 days of the trip. I hated cruising, or so I thought. Turns out I didn't really need the med and it did cause horrible side effects that nearly ruined the trip AND me from ever cruising again. Once it wore off, I was fine. So....that's just my story..

oh and re the water...we bite the bullet and buy the bottles of evian. Yes, it's very expensive but cheaper than buying it one bottle at a time on the ship or even in port -- and I'm too lazy to haul it around the ship...

It is almost here :banana::banana:

All of my travel documents arrived in the mail today:dance3::dance3::dance3:

(Took longer since my TA had to wait for the WDW part which is after the cruise.)

Luggage is getting layed out Tuesday to start packing :goodvibes

Thanks for the replies, I think i'll bring some refillable bottles, or buy the evian.

Like I said, it is expensive (i'm thinking 40 bucks for a case) but we drink a LOT of water and we all really like Evian...so we figure that if we would buy 20 bottles on the ship and for shore excursions at 2.50 - 3 per bottle (if we're lucky), we are still "saving" some money... and they deliver it to your room. :goodvibes

Motion sickness.

Past cruisers--Did you have any? Did you take anything? What did you take?

I'm trying to decide what to do. I've cruised 3X before without any major sickness--I do believe I took Bonine here and there. My concern is that this past summer we took a ferry, and it was rough seas...and I got uber nauseous. I would just take Bonine daily as a precaution....BUT...I'm still nursing Aubrey sometimes, and it's said not to be compatible.

I am going to get the ever so pretty sea bands, I guess...and hope these work???

You thoughts?

Not sure what sea bands are. I'll have to check them out but I saw on another thread that Ginger Gum helps with sea sickness and is all natural so I'm guessing no terrible side affects. I was going to bring some with and try it before I go with the Dramamine.

And Allison, you were correct - 2 DD & 1 DS for jen-n-greg.

Do any of you experienced cruisers know how to let DCL know you are celebrating a special occasion? I don't see a spot on their website.

Assuming you mean a birthday or anniversary that you'd like to celebrate at dinner (with cake and singing) you just tell the head server about it on the first night. He'll take care of it.

We did our oldest DD birthday on an August cruise even though she is born in September because she never gets to be at WDW on her birthday since it's so close to the first day of school. She was really really surprised and happy we did it and the servers did a great job of making a big deal out of it.

On the water question -- I have heard there is a walgreens or cvs or the like very close to the port in Key West and that many people on the Western itinerary actually buy a case there to bring on board.
I have stocked up on crystal light lemonade packets and will pack a couple of large empty sport water bottles, since I live on water. I just add a tiny bit of the lemon flavoring because I enjoy lemon in my water.

I am finishing FE gifts today. A friend is helping me out (bless her heart). I can't believe we are so close. I am having trouble sleeping. :cheer2:

I'm still working on FE gifts. The last of the stuff won't be in until Thursday! How annoying! :confused: :rotfl:

I just looked at a cam on Grand Caymen and it said it was 74 degrees there. Brrr! I think I might have to rethink my packing! Maybe I'll go look to find a cam/weather for Cozumel. Maybe it's warmer there!

Well Weather undergound says Grand Cayman is 82 deg and Cozumel is 77. Oh, well. Guess we'll have to wait and see!
