And yes I prefer NE clam Chowda, Not Manhattan.

I like you more and more every day. Despite his being a Yankees fan, hubby only likes New England Chowda. He gets into some heated arguments with his mother because she only likes Manhattan. And we all know that's not really chowda at all, more of a clam stew.

The best Chowdah is (IMO) from Boston Chowda Co. They can be found in the Quincy Market food court in Faniel Hall. They serve the chowda in a bread bowl that soaks up the chowda and when the chowda is gone you eat the bread and it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

Chowda gets its name from the type of pot they first used when making it. I believe that is what it is, it was one of them there big ol' round bucket looking things that was actually called a chowder pot. I remember either reading it or seeing the story on TV a while back. Don't recall all the details.

And yeah, Manhatten Chowder is a sorry chowdah, how dare it call itself chowder, its more like tomato soup with stuff thrown in. blaaaaaa uk

Now that we own a digital camera, I'll have to take some pictures around Boston for you. My office is right on the waterfront. Rowes Wharf for those who know that area, at the Boston Harbor Hotel. A beautiful place to be in the summertime.

Love the pics! I hadn't seen the railroad bridge in years, but now my parents live in Carver, so when we get down there to visit, we sometimes take a drive down the "old basket highway" so I can show my husband some of the little known places on the Cape.

My little town is old- Century store fronts and little diners. Norman Rockwell-ish. Cute, quaint and old. And Lots of WINERIES!!!

You can walk to my house from where this photo was shot-

My home town is like that. I love it. And, we actually have some of Norman Rockwell's descendents living in our town. I loved my hometown, but it's not quite the same anymore. Too much has changed that it's not as quaint as it once was.

Here is my towns claim to fame! The building in the backround can be seen in the movie Planes Trains and Automobiles! Hows that for Famous!:rotfl:

Oh...but no wineries in our town. We do have a good number of farms and even a couple that still deliver milk. Yep...you can get milk in glass bottles delivered to your house.

Here's the only picture of my hometown that I've found online so far. This is the Blackstone River in downtown Uxbridge. I'm going to see if I can find more.

The town I live in now has nothing. Even the center of town isn't like a center of town. We're more known more for a mall and other big shopping areas. Though they did just open a new shopping area that has an LL Bean store in it!!

The town I grew up in has a lot more history and is more of a village with a bunch of beaches and stuff. Many big celeb's in the 20's 30's and 40's used to frequent the town. There was an old casino/hotel/entertainment building where the big band's used to play, Benny Goodman, the Dorsey Bro's, Glenn Miller and the like. The beach is HUGE and quite a few old houses. In Buzzards Bay, Grover Cleveland (22nd & 24th President) had a summer retreat on the Canal, the Kennedy's before Hyannis Port was big used to spend some summer times there. I'll see if I can find some decent photos of the area, Onset, Ma officially. :)

I love Norman Rockwell--I have -Stockbridge- hanging in my front parlor!

My parents honeymooned in Buzzards Bay. If you don't live here, you wouldn't have a clue where that is. They were pretty broke back in 1968 and couldn't afford anything fancy, but the Cape wasn't the costly vacation spot it is these days.

Ok, we also have many old mills in my home town. (Notice I never talk about the town where I currently live?)

Here's a picture of the Stanley Woolen Mill.

This creek is tiny in my yard but empties into Lake Erie-
