Dh is military and I would LOOOOOVE to know if they are going to extend the discount for military. We are looking at branching out and getting 2 rooms for the 5 of us if they keep the 35% off for mods.

If not, we are SQUUUUEEZING in to the cheapest possible!

We want to go 12/17-12/23. It will be our first trip so I wanted some place nice!

Did you look at Shades of Green? I'm not sure what the rates are there now, but we went back in 2000 (BEFORE the refurb) and it was AMAZING!! I've never stayed in such a nice place before!! It was like a 5 star resort for the price of a value!! Just a thought!

I would really LOVE to go November 11-17, but without a discount I don't see how we can swing it! : I don't even know how to get a pin since this is our first trip.

I am in the same situation! Waiting on some sort of discount that will work for our week so I can go ahead and book! There will only be 2 of us in our room so a room discount would be in our favor!!

Good luck on getting your pin too! I just did a little math and we would save $617 with the room discount and after the dining upgrade somewhere around $1600 with free dining. But it would still be worth it for me to book with a pin!

I finally got a PIN...we did the math...and then decided we won't go at all without the free dining. It's a significant difference when you're staying at a value reosrt. With free dining, the four of us can do 7 nights hotel, 7 days in parks and all the food for $1800. We'll just wait and see if free dining comes around for the end of 2011. If not, it may be time to see a different part of the actual world, instead of the mouse world.

I can't imagine that they wouldn't continue FD into late fall/winter again. After all, they ramped UP the FD offers this year, not down. Besides. I think Disney management is addicted to the higher crowds in the parks and the higher occupancy in the resorts!

the only debate is how many folks are coming with us. Last year, MIL and FIL came with us. This year my folks want in on the action...and of course that means my sister and her family are interested too. However, they all want to go the week of Turkey Day and based on our 2009 trip, the crowds are just too much at times during that week. (yes, once you discover what WDW is like on low crowd days) We prefer the week before or after...even though that means 2 weeks in a row of no school for both turfettes.

There used to be a spreadsheet that showed the percentage discount is better for long trips staying at the Deluxe resorts with the dining package but the free dining gives you greater savings at the Mod and Values. We booked on a PIN code last year and when the free dining got extended switched, saving us some money.

For those wanting to see the Christmas decorations - don't forget that the Food and Wine festival is in EPCOT from September 30, 2011 – November 13, 2011. The Osbourne dancing lights started November 8 in 2010. Santa is at DTD but not in the MK until after Thanksgiving (except during MVMCP, I think)

We just booked for Nov 12 - 19!!! We are super excited since it will be a family reunion and 7 of them have never been to WDW.

Now I get to check my emails waiting for a pin. I did double check when I booked that if a pin/deal comes along I can have it applied to my reservation as long as it is 45 days before our trip.

Looks like we'll have to set up a DIS meet by the pool - assuming no Free Dining that allows me to upgrade to a mod. We still haven't booked, but I gotta repair that shortly.

I just booked Nov 27 - Dec 4 at the AKL with the 40% off room deal (via PIN emailed to me). We went this same week last year and stayed at POFQ with the free DDP. I booked my package this year with the DDP. I am hoping that they will offer the free DDP but I am unsure if it would be cheaper than the 40% off at AKL. Either way, I am hoping for the rest of you!!!!!

Did you try several different dates or resorts? I know a couple of people who had some choices come up rack and others discounted. Just a thought. Hope you get something good!

This just isn't right.

We want to go this fall SOOO bad, but the money thing...

We set up a new email address, did all the settings to encourage Disney to send us a PIN.
IT WORKED!!!
Three days later, a PIN was emailed to us.

It can be used at any of the resorts in May and is a flat 20% off.
What is THAT all about?

The over the counter deals for everyone is better than that.
But we holding on hoping for something better in November. Sounds like some of you lucky ducks are scoring, but the PIN computer seems out of gas right now.
