Nothing like a last minute trip! (July 7-13)

We scored NASA causeway tickets on Thursday & we are going to wrap a WDW vaca into it. I've got plane tickets (Virgin America, woo hoo!), NASA Causeway tickets, WDW tickets and reservations at Pop Century.

We are Disney people, we are Annual Passholders at Disneyland (we go about every other week), took a Disney Cruise this year, but have never done Disney World, and did not expect to for several years. I'm crazy nervous, it seems enormous.

We have a 2AM pick up in the parking lot of All Star Music for the shuttle launch, so I am desperately hoping a room opens up @ ASM between now and arrival!

We were supposed to leave on Pop the 7th, but extended our stay a couple of days to be in the area for the launch. We don't have tickets for the launch, but we are doing the KSC tour several days beforehand.

Disneyworld really is enormous compared to Disneyland. I'd been to DL as a kid several times, but was totally overwhelmed at WDW the first time we went to the point where I had to stop myself because I was dragging the family around the park like a madwoman. Just pick what you really want to see and for everything you don't, well that's what the next trip is for.

Keep trying for the rooms, call several times a day anytime you have 10 minutes open up, in the car, in line at the store, etc. We did last minute trips in Feb and Aug last year and in Aug I snagged the last available room at any of the All Stars (sports) with my persistance on my 4th or 5th call. It was nerve wracking but at least you have a back up booked already.
