So I havent been around a lot lately, its been a crazy couple of weeks. Were moving from a TINY 2 bedroom apartment into a 4 bedroom house, and are currently startling between the two locations. So life is pretty chaotic. I also received a promotion at work, and the person who I worked closely with that I didnt get along with transferred out of our department, which is great, but until we hire someone else, I am picking up the slack from her job on top of my new and old responsibilities. DF started school and has class Wednesday and Thursday nights until 9:30. Last week, I was making myself a sandwich, and the knife slipped - I have 5 stitches in my finger and cut deep enough to have nerve damage. Oh how I long to sit on the couch with a glass of wine and surf DIS all night!
Okay... enough whining... I have a little time here at work today...
Today is the 1 year anniversary of our engagement! When we started planning, my little day ticker said over 500 days, and now were down to 136!
We got a huge checkmark off our list today - the invitations are now officially mailed! After all the drama and indecision, theyre done. I dont know why, but the invitations were and are something that really bothered me through this whole process, and something that my mother and I really clashed on. Weve been fine for almost every other piece of the planning... but these were brutal. In the end we both compromised and I think they came out decent. Im not in love with them, but I dont hate them, and theyre just going to be garbage anyway, so Im not too concerned.
Were in the process of moving, and my camera is MIA, and I had to use this old dinosaur of a camera to take these pictures - so I apologize in advance for their quality.
How it looks:
All the pieces:
The invitation:
The events card:
(yes, this one is smudged - thats why it was relegated to my copy)
The RSVP:
Im so relieved to have these done and out the door! I feel so official now.
Oh and we heard for 100% official sure that DFs dad will be coming to the wedding. Hes thrilled. I just wish there was any possibility of his mom coming... but I dont think there is. His dad is worried about being bored... Seriously? Who worries about being bored in Disney?
And Im having trouble getting in touch with the company for the slide show that I won at the auction. Ive emailed them several time, and when I call them I get a generic machine voice the person you called is not available. Please leave a message. Its pretty sketch. Im bummed because even though we got a rockin deal, it was still a lot of money... you know? At least it went to a good cause.
Im trying to convince DF to take a Disney break in November or early December, for the weekend. Weve been so crazy - we need a break! Ive got him almost convinced... I just have to come up with some wedding related thing to do while down there, and Ive got him for sure!
Oh and.... I think Ive mentioned before that although we dont have the best relationship with DFs parents, his grandma is one of my favorite people. Shes so sweet and supportive of us, and DFs (second) biggest cheerleader. So a few weeks ago, we took her out for a fish fry and we were talking about the wedding and my dress and I said that I needed to find a bolero or something because I have a skin condition on my arms that makes me really self conscious, but I was striking out big time and getting nervous. So she called me last Friday all excited and asked how white my dress is... she went to the store and bought fabric and is going to make me a bolero! How sweet, and way more special than anything I was looking at. (She sells stuff at craft fairs and is a really good seamstress, so Im not worried about quality at all)
Now that the invitations are out, Im hoping Ill be able to just sit back and let the RSVPs roll in for a month or so, while we get settled into our new house, and avoid overlapping chaos.
