Ok, Seriously Joanna, you need to stop making me laugh so loud at work... your gonna get me in trouble! Your TR is flipping awesome btw!

That is no fun about the launch.... stupid nasa and it's scheduling

Your DF's "I have to wait in another line face" is priceless! I too have made that face while in WDW

Mango Pie, I couldn't agree more, delicious and weird all at once. It is super yummy, but at the same time it just tastes like mangos in pie form, which is weird... I know it shouldn't be, but somehow it makes an odd combination...

Your TR is wicked funny, I can't wait to hear about your PS!:goodvibes

Okay - I'll make the next entry really really boring just for you :lmao:

We were so bummed we even seriously talked about extending our trip a day so we could see it. Oh well, just means we'll have to go back :rotfl2:
The worst part is my mom was there to see it and she keeps rubbing my face in it - intentionally talking about it and bringing it up constantly. Isn't my mom the best?

Yeah, I must say I was leery, but the mango pie is a new favorite of mine!

Thursday - PS!

Since we were on the 4-3 deal, we had 7 day tickets, and since I couldn’t let those go to waste, we were there at rope-drop for DHS today. Plus it was DF’s birthday, and we needed to get our gift card. This took way too long and by the time we dashed to Toy Story Mania, the fast pass time was 11! So we grabbed a fast pass and hopped in line. It was 30 min, not too bad. Then we dashed to RR, and did the single rider thing 2 times cuz the real line was 70 min. Then we dashed back to TSM and dashed to the busses. We were starving so we took a bus to the Poly and had lunch at Captain Cook’s. It was decent. Then we walked to the WP and met my parents. (it was about this time that I realized I left my camera in the room, so I apologize for the lack of pictures – my dad took some, but not a lot)

There we met with our WC, Joe, and talked about the contract he had sent, and some of our concerns and ideas. Then we jetted off to Epcot to see the AAP. I must say from seeing pictures, I was convinced I’d see it - love it - have to have it. Not so much. It was pretty an all, but seemed dated and closed in. Well at least I was off that kick. When we went out the elevator we came through the main entrance of the American Adventure ride thingy, and my dad stopped me because a receipt fell out of my pocket - remember this it comes back.

Then we went to the Contemporary to the California Grill. We drove by BLT, and I’m so excited to stay there before the wedding! We saw the Napa and Sonoma Rooms, and the views were stunning. We decided we’d use the Sonoma Room for the pre-reception cocktails, and dinner in the Napa Room. I will admit I’m not *in love* with the carpet and existing pictures - so if anyone has any ideas -I’d love to hear them.

We didn't take any pictures of the rooms – I don't know why – but we did take a picture of this pretty centerpiece they had at the bar of the CG.

100_0206.jpg

(I'm useless I know)
From there we went to the Whitehall room which was set up for a reception to take a peek. Both my parents really liked that room, but I couldn’t get over that it was/is a ballroom. They also were sold on the patio - which I thought was crazy since we’d spent the first part of the PS arguing with my mom about the DP since she thought it would be too cold outside and didn’t want to rely on that. Hellooooooo?? The patio is outside!

Anyway, I wasn’t feeling the Whitehall room, so we stuck with the Napa/Sonoma combo - for now. Then we parted ways with Joe and ventured to the poly for a much needed lapu lapu. As mentioned this one was about 1/2 the size as the first one and about 1/2 as good. Disappointed in the bartender, we headed to the boardwalk to check out places for the rehearsal dinner.

Now this is one of those things that will be the death of me I can feel it.
I really want a Dessert Party. My mother does not. Well, actually my mom has no problem with the DP concept - she just wants a venue where we can have it indoors. Sorry doesn’t exist. She also thinks that we need to treat everyone to dinner before. My dad and I keep trying to tell her that the point of the DP is so we don’t have to buy everyone a full dinner, but they can all still meet. But she has her mind set, so we’re just going along.

So she wanted to look at places around the boardwalk/beach club area so we could just hop on a boat and go to the DP. So we looked at Flying Fish - too fancy. Spoodles - too much food. Big River Brewery - PERFECT. DF used to work at a micro-brewery, and the location they have for parties is right by the brewing equipment. So we’re going to do a really informal - sandwiches and such - dinner there and then take the friendship boats to EPCOT for the DP is France. So it’s very “us”

After that we went to back to the contemporary to get seats at the bar for Wishes since I knew we wouldn’t get seated in time with our 7:45 ADR. We got great seats until this woman came up to us and asked if we minded if she and her family stood in front of us and blocked our view. At first we thought she was kidding, but she was dead serious. We kindly kicked her butt out of our view and took these pictures.

100_0207.jpg

100_0208.jpg

100_0213.jpg

So finally after Wishes, we were seated and had the WORST waitress. We were seated by 8:15 had water by 8:30 and were served our appetizer at 9. An hour - for sushi? The food was good - not great - but good. After Sushi - the dumb waitress talked me out of what I really wanted and into a roll that she claimed would be amazing - it was okay. DF and I shared a goat cheese ravioli - good- but too goat cheesy for the reception. (I LOVE goat cheese btw) I had the pasta dish for dinner, it was okay. DF had the ostrich and mom had the pork and dad had fish (can’t remember what kind) but everyone’s was better than mine. Then our dippy waitress asks if we want dessert. We all decline and get coffee. The table adjacent to ours receives a free piece of cake, a song and balloons for their birthday. I have DF’s birthday on the reservation, he's wearing his birthday button, and we’re both wearing the just engaged buttons Joe gave us, and I put on the reservation that we were planning on having our reception there. I made some snotty comment about how we must not look like we’re big tippers or something - and then 5 minutes later we both got free desserts. I felt a bit guilty like I might have been overheard - cuz I wasn’t trying to get a free dessert. But I was just genuinely disappointed in the whole experience. I wanted to feel special and be re-assured that I was making the right choice in venue, and I just wasn’t, so I’m still second-guessing my choice.

Everyone else enjoyed themselves, but I was just disappointed in everything and now I’m totally bummed

Then we headed back to the hotel - getting less lost and breaking fewer traffic laws this time around.

I should mention at this point, on the way back to the room, I broke down and bought the ridiculously over priced cold medicine since I was pretty sure my head was going to explode if I didn't.

And we were greeted by a pacifier-free bed, and fell asleep.

I forgot to tell you earlier... WHAT THE HECK WAS UP WITH THE BINKY!!!!!!:lmao:
That is just plain weird! I'm sorry it spent the night mocking you from the other side of the room:rotfl2:.

Your site Visit sounds like it went well, at least you narrowed stuff down right? At least there is still time before the wedding to figure it all out. BTW have you decided when you will be in WDW next year for your wedding/honeymoon?

I know right. DF kept saying well at least it's not a condom or something much groser - I had a college roomate that was into kinky stuff and it would occasionally end up on my bed - EWW..... I went through quite a lot of sheets that year - no amount of bleach! But anyway - It could have been groser- it was just plain weird!

Yes, we narrowed stuff down and made a ton of decisions. I wasn't as in love with the CG as I wanted to be, but we're still choosing it for the reception. I'm really glad we did all this now, because July would be way too late since I was not sure at all what I wanted to do.

I think we're going to do the 21st-31st - so we'll probally just miss you  - again. BOO.

We have BLT booked from the 21st - the 25th, and we're still deciding where to stay from the 25-31st. DF really liked the Poly, so most likely there.

Don't you love how I just wrote like 6 paragraphs to answer 3 simple questions. Wow I'm really direct!:rotfl2:

Ahhh we do miss each other again! We are doing 2/3 - 2/13 as of now... I want to try and squeeze a few more days out in WDW though... but I am not sure budget will allow lol! We are doing the WL for 3 nights then switching to the Yacht Club for the next week. It was a tough choice though since there are so many cool places to stay.

BLT is one I want to stay at in the (hopefully very near) future. The Poly is so nice too, and just think you could have a lapu lapu every night and a dole whip from the food court every afternoon, can't go wrong there!

Your binky story is still weirding me out a bit... I am not sure why but it is just the bizarre-ness of it that is creepy... but at least it was just a binky, I don't even want to imagine anything else!

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Our e-picts are up on Randy's site :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Joanna and Chris.

I'm not doing a good job of focusing on work I want to look at them so bad... 20 more min....

Friday - Yeah that’s right - it’s my Birthday!

I woke up this morning the sickest I’d been on the trip, but determined not to let my pesky cold ruin our last day in the parks I made DF roll out of bed, get his coffee and we were off to EPCOT one last time.

We weren’t really in a hurry so we just sort of moseyed our way around EPCOT. We did notice how much more crowded it was and how many groups of teens there were. It was another 85 degree day so we decided to hit up the cool station, since we’d never been and DF loves those kinds of things. Then we went straight to the Land to get fast passes for Soarin’ and grab a bite at Sunshine Seasons. Then since we were there, we road on Imagination! Since I used to love that ride before they ruined it, and I’m a die-hard figment fan. Then we checked out the shop and I was so disappointed in their figment merchandise that for the first time in 26 years, I left without purchasing a figment souvenir. Then I still wasn’t feeling good, and desperately needed a nap, so we went into Honey I Shrunk the Audience so I could close my eyes. Wow is that dated and blurry! So I took a nap and DF watched the show. Then we decided we needed ice cream. So we walked over to the Beach Club for a No Way Jose. We sat down at the counter and were talking with our waitress. Then the lights start flashing and I tell DF to look because someone probally ordered a kitchen sink. No - our waitress came out with our sundae and a balloon and had the whole restaurant singing to me! I turned bright red, it was cute! She apologized for embarrassing me and I told her that it surprised me because I wasn’t expecting it at all, and thanked her.

Feeling refreshed, we headed to mission Space and then Test Track. It was almost time for our 4:00 ADR at Le Cellier, so we headed out to Canadia. I was so regretting the deliciousness of the No Way Jose, because I so was not hungry at that early hour, but whatca gonna do? I called 90 days ahead like a good girl and that was what I could get. We both did the Chef’s selection menu - I have no idea why since I was so full! I got the chicken sausage appetizer and DF got the cheese soup. We both liked mine better. I know there are serious devotees to that cheese soup, but coming from the land of beer and cheese - we’ve had better. For dinner DF had the slab o’ meat - can’t remember what it was and I had the pasta - again it was okay. For dessert I had the chocolate moose and DF was insanely jealous.

100_0215.jpg

He had key lime pie I think. I also got a card signed by everyone at Le Cellier. It was a cute touch. So now feeling like I could be rolled around the world, we set off to kill more time before illuminations.

Since DF was so jealous of my dessert, I tried to cheer him up by giving him a Joanna moose.

100_0216.jpg

:rotfl:

When we got to France, imagine my dismay when again there was a large group on the lower island that was using the arm as a kitchen. GRRRR. So we peeked around the ropes and talked to the CM a bit before moving on.

100_0217.jpg

So we were leisurely wandering and went into American Adventure and the CM runs up to me and says “Where are you from Joanna?” I answer “Milwaukee?” he says “Oh good, you’re the Joanna we’ve been looking for” I’m really confused now, thinking I dropped something important when we were there the day before, so he leads me over to a table to wait, and then hands me a phone. It was Goofy singing Happy Birthday. It was cute. I felt kinda dumb cuz I didn’t see it coming, but I’ll blame my cold. So then we wander into Norway and finally ride Maelstrom. Eventually we’re not so stuffed that we’d toss our cookies so we head to Test Track one more time, but it was down, and I wasn’t so digested that I was ready to ride Mission Space, so we headed back the WS and decided to scope out UK lower - since our WC kept telling us how much better that location was than the French arm.

The view was great, but we were bombarded by ash and my eyes were burning by the end of the show. No thanks - I’ll stick with France.

So we hung out for a while letting the crowd thin out - it was EMH at EPOCT and then headed out to Test Track one last time but it was still down, so we headed to DDD. Now I didn’t know that you can’t take a bus directly from EPCOT to DDD, you have to go to a resort. The resort bus that happened to be closest - there - and empty was Old Key West - so we hopped on. Well so did about 4 groups of teenagers. Man do I apologize to anyone I met when I was like 17. Wow were they annoying. So the bus dropped us off a OKW, and we were waiting for a bus until I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was thinking to myself, I wonder where we are in relation to the boat stop - and what do you know - a boat pulls up across from us. So we walk over there and get on the boat - the teens yammering still waiting for their bus. We wait awhile, and the driver finally goes “well I guess you have a private cruise - happy birthday” It was so nice and quite. DF kept thanking me for thinking of the boat vs the bus.

When we arrived Downtown we went to World of Disney to blow our B-day gift cards. We bought our bride and groom ears - cuz the were essentially free, and got my mom a hat. We found a Mickey gnome statue that we bought as a thank you to DF’s grandma for supporting us, cuz she loves Disney and collects gnomes. Then we bought an extra carry-on to tote the stuff we bought and a few trinkets for my friends’ daughters and we still had $4 left on the card! It was almost midnight so we headed back and finished packing.

Loving the TR! Just spent 30 minutes reading it all. I'm so far behind on everyone's PJ! You crack me up though!:rotfl:

Last Day - Boo!

I originally had reservations at the Captain’s Grille for breakfast today, but like 2 weeks before we left, our flight was moved up 2 hrs to 12:40. Since I figured the ME would pick us up around 9:30, I canceled it cuz I didn’t think we’d have time. Let me just say - I’m a genius.

After our morning ritual of pouring coffee down DF’s throat to make him human, I had him call the number to pay for our bag. Well after being on hold for 40 minutes, he accidently hangs up on the woman as she’s giving him the confirmation #. So then I had to call back, and wait another 40 minutes to get the bloody number. Let me just say, for a company of Disney’s size, it seemed like they had 2 people working that airline number. It was really slow and frustrating. So we finally made it to Classic Hall around 8:00. Well all the parks opened at 9 that day, so it was a mad house of really rude people pushing and shoving to get their breakfasts. We had one CS left and I was so frustrated that I told DF just to get whatever he wanted, cuz I didn’t want to be there.

So I lugged our bag into the giant line to get checked into the ME. Well the woman behind me was being super rude, declaring that she needed to get to the parks. So a CM comes to the back of the line to help her. Seriously?? There were like 3 people ahead of me, and you’re going to skip all of us to help this obnoxious woman? So she’s whining and the CM is explaining that everyone needs to be present, and show ID. She arguing with him that her family has the same last name as her, so it should be okay. Eventually even the CM looked like he was going to strangle her. Ha! That’s what you get for skipping all of us friendly people. So, I eventually get checked in and DF has since come out with a really gross looking (and tasting) breakfast pizza. And we wait for the ME. I was so grumpy and pissed off at people that I was actually glad we were going home!

I think the Pop was fine for what we used it for - a place to sleep for 6 hrs. a day. But honestly I won’t be rushing back to stay there any time soon. We both agreed, that if we were just coming for a park-centric quick visit, and didn’t want to spend the $, we’d stay again, but we even had trepidations about recommending it to our guests. I just wasn’t impressed at all.

So on the ride to the airport I was quizzing DF about where he wanted to stay after the wedding, since we’re staying with my parents at BLT before the wedding and CR the night of. I left the choice up to him, since I have stayed at most of the resorts before, and this trip was his first time on property. I figured he’d pick the Boardwalk or Beach club, and I’d researched and priced out a bunch of different rooms and had the prices ready to spit out at him… so imagine my surprise when he said …”Well, I really liked the Poly”

The Poly?? That wasn’t even on my radar screen! I had dismissed it when I read there were almost no king beds. I told DF and he was like “So? We sleep on a Queen at home” So anyway, this left me silent the rest of the bus ride. I didn’t have a billion facts and prices memorized for the Poly so I felt I had nothing to say. DF was like “well if you don’t want to stay at the Poly..” I told him I had nothing against it I just didn’t research it because I thought we’d stay in the Epcot area.

Anyway… we got to the airport and killed some time in Del Sol. DF hasn’t been to the Caribbean with me, so he was unfamiliar with the novelty and awesomeness that is Del Sol. Then we headed to the gate, and were able to get onto an earlier flight and upgraded to 1st class! Score!

They were concerned our luggage wouldn’t make it with us, but we live like 3 minutes from the airport so I didn’t care. The flight was boring and uneventful. Then we landed, and our luggage made it on the earlier flight with us, so we headed home (where I immediately went online to research the Poly - I’m not obsessive at all!)

Sorry for the lack of pictures on the last day. I was so crabby and sick by that point I didn’t care.

Okay... now that the TR is over, I can update some of my plans.

When my mom and I were in the Caribbean a couple of weeks ago, we did some serious jewel shopping. I won the trip, so she treated me to a few bobbles. And since this was the first time we'd been to the Caribbean without my sister or dad complaining every time we went into a store... we were successful! Well, the big thing in the Caribbean right now is blue diamonds. This got me on the idea to do the "old, new, borrowed, blue" with jewelery.

My mom liked the idea, so we started brainstorming...

Old...
this was easy. The very first piece of jewelery Chris ever bought me was diamond earrings. They're small, and actually I hardly wear them because they slip through my first holes, so I'm always worried about loosing them. But I have 5 holes in each ear, so I figured I could wear them in the 2nd holes, and they'd be a sentimental old.

JDPWeddingstuff001.jpg

sorry the picture is so blurry, I really need a new camera.

New...
The first night of our cruise, the onboard shops had a costume jewelery sale, so we checked it out, and found this.
JDPWeddingstuff005.jpg

It matches my dress quite well... My dad took pictures of when I tried them on together, he claims he'll send them tonight... Will post when I have them.

Borrowed...
Though I haven't figured out exactly which one yet, I will be borrowing a ring or a bracelet from my mom to wear.

Blue...
So, this idea was born as an excuse for us to buy blue diamonds. (Somehow, my mom decided that was her excuse too :confused3 ) So she bought me this:
JDPWeddingstuff006.jpg

Crappy picture, I know. It is 3 small diamond flowers, the side two are blue diamonds, the middle is white diamonds. It's a cute pinky ring.
Sort of like this:
ringlookalike.jpg

but the whole flowers are blue and white... if that makes sense...

I got a call from my planner today :cool1::banana::banana:
I have Maxine. I haven't heard much about her, but she had heard of my favorite singer (chantal kreviazuk) who no one has ever heard of. So yay! I feel official now.

Aww I just read about your day when you were going to watch the shuttle launch! If I could send you a shuttle launch I would! That would have been so perfect if they had done it on Wednesday. Silly NASA

Thanks! Cross your fingers that the next one goes off on schedule :rotfl: (okay even I don't believe that will happen) Cuz we're supposed to be on the Monarch that day - and from your picts, it seems like that's a great view! However, my luck it'll be delayed 4 days and I'll be on the plane when it lanuches - again. Oh well.

Okay.... so I have this obsession with glow cubes. It's one of those fun things that I always get when I'm in WDW. Well this year, the glow drink - the Magical Star - was FABULOUS. It was pinapple, passion fruit and rum I believe MMMMMM. Anyway, my mom and I started talking and we decided it woud be fun to have glow cubes at the wedding. I found a site that personalizes them, and they're pretty reasonable!

The downside is that I'd have to order 250 of them. To get the personalization. So we were thinking of decorating with them as well. I found these votives in the clearance bin at Michaels - $.50 each.
JDPWeddingstuff010.jpg

It's sort of a bad picture, so in case you can't tell... they say Celebrate, Believe, Friends, Inspire and are metalic on the outside and different colored on the inside.

So then I was playing with my glow cubes and this is how they look with the glow cube..
JDPWeddingstuff011.jpg

I wasn't sure I liked it, so I tried it with a battery powered tea light I bought at holloween
JDPWeddingstuff013.jpg

The tealight fit in there better, but the light wasn't as bright and I'm not sure I liked that either.

So I'm not sure I'll use the votives, but I got 40 of them for $20, so I'm not too concerned.

OK, just got all caught up on your TR, I can totally relate to how you felt about your DF saying he wanted the POLY! Dave has said things like that to me before that just catch me so off guard I don't know how to react lol! Wackiness!
Sorry to hear you were feeling lousy the last day... thats strange about ME taking so long to do airline check-in. POP left our boarding passes on our door the morning we left and all we had to do was check our luggage which only took a minute... and they stored our carry-on's while we went to DTD that day too. POP is good for a quick visit but after seeing the Boardwalk area I am totally sure we will stay there for our Disneymoon. Although, DF did say he wants to stay at the POLY soon... so who knows maybe we are in the same boat lol!

WooHoo. I actually remembered to take pictures this time, so I can finally post picts of me in my dress and not just in blobular form - though I'm sort of blob like so I'm not sure how much of an improvement it is...

Okay - now please don't mind the red bra...

With Panic's dress - don't mind the face, I was just about to sneeze.

and just me...

Hmmm... Come to think about it - the red bra is growing on me - maybe I could start a trend :rotfl:

and the detail
DSC00383.jpg

It's still really really big on me, but we're meeting with the seamstress in September so hopefully it'll eventually fit me.

So honest opinions - does it look cheap? I can't get the price tag out of my head! I'm also having buyers remorse, because I really really liked that other dress I tried on (that was over 11x more expensive than what I paid for mine...) I mean I like this one fine - I'm just a spaz!

I LOVE your dress!:lovestruc

It's a tough choice though. I honestly don't think that the other dresses will even cross your mind on your wedding day. And honestly, I think that one is very nice. My vote is to keep that one. But if you think deep down inside you want another one, maybe you should consider it a bit more. But I Dont' think that one looks cheap!

Thanks. I do like the dress. I think it's a combination of knowing the price and that it's too big right now, that are making me feel uneasy. Plus even though I fell in love with that other dress, even before we found the price, I was concerned that the other dress was to "Belle" like and I'm not going for the Disney princess look....

Ugh I hate being a girl.
