Hi, this is my first post, I am trying to plan a vow renewal at walt disney world for December 2010, I have been reading up on here and various web sites and I am not sure where exactly to start. I am planning on calling disney but i am not sure if this can be booked yet, so would the call matter at this point or is it too soon? It will be an escape package and I would like to have it at the wedding pavillion, and I would like to upgrade the cake and have the magic kingdom photo shoot. Can someone give me an estimated cost for all this? I also would like to use an outside photographer but I am not sure if you decide not to use the photography included in the package do they give you back any credit to use towards anything else? I also have read that they give the wedding couple annual passes- do you get to use these for the trip or do they give you them at the wedding? Iam asking this because I would like to know if the annual passes can be used to book a room with a AP discount- needing the annual passes at the check in point. I have lots more questions but these are the most burning ones right now, so if someone here could help me out that would be great.

Hi! :wave2: You've come to the right place!

For the Escape package, you won't be able to book until 8 months before the date you want, but you can certainly call now and get the ball rolling.

It will be an escape package and I would like to have it at the wedding pavillion, and I would like to upgrade the cake and have the magic kingdom photo shoot. Can someone give me an estimated cost for all this?

The price of the Escape Package in 2010 is $5,750 if you want the Wedding Pavilion. Cake upgrade prices depend on how elaborate your changes are and are set by the pastry chef. However, the standard cake generally counts for about $200 toward the price of the cake you want. Magic Kingdom photo shoot has been $1,000 for a few years, but someone here was recently told the price has increased to $1,200.

I also would like to use an outside photographer but I am not sure if you decide not to use the photography included in the package do they give you back any credit to use towards anything else?

No.

I also have read that they give the wedding couple annual passes- do you get to use these for the trip or do they give you them at the wedding?

You get them in the mail after you return your signed contract and deposit. They are vouchers, so you can wait to activate them whenever you want.

Iam asking this because I would like to know if the annual passes can be used to book a room with a AP discount- needing the annual passes at the check in point.

You can book a room with an AP discount without being in possession of an active AP, but you will need to have one when you check in.

Hope this helps!

Welcome and congratulations on your VR!

My DH and I are planning a VR for our 10th anniversary at the beginning of 2011. The first step I took was to go to the disneyweddings.com site and order the planning brochure, they recently re-did their website. We are planning a Wishes ceremony.

One of our resident experts Carrie, aka lurkyloo has published a great guide for Disney Weddings, I am sure one of the ladies here will have the link handy, it is on pdf format and has a lot of info on it.

I would read some Planning Journals by fellow escape brides, sometimes the ladies here go above and beyond and help by posting their floral and other budgets, it really helps when trying to figure out what to expect.

I called DFTW right away and received a ton of info regarding prices and minimal expenditures, etc and had a site visit to look at potential venues. It never hurts to contact DFTW they can answer any questions you might have.

:lmao:
Looks like Carrie and I were posting at the same time.

Thank you both so much for your replies, this is a great start for me, now I will sit down and call WDW and get the planning guide sent to me. Thank you very much!
