....THAT'S gotta be really annoying!
....I'm beginning to think that it might be easier to let Photobucket hold my pix hostage and then just pay the ransom....![]()

....this is what REALLY gets me....that photo was not originally mine [on my account] and there was much sentimental value to that particular photo...It's infuriating.....We really have no idea how much longer Photobucket will even be in existence. I have to wonder if this SUDDEN change wasn't because they ran out of money to be able to act as a third-party host. So they had to immediately pull the plug on it all. They KNOW most people won't pay - for services they CANNOT - not will not provide......Just go little by little. Move & re-link what is immediately important to you. Your signature photos & your house photos for your thread that you care about and are still posting on. Then slowly move the other ones, several at a time......

What annoys me the most about this is that PhotoBucket went nuclear. I totally understand them wanting people who have a TON of photos that they have hotlinked to pay something, or limit them somehow. My library is 1% full with only about 150 photos. What a PITB. Frankly, if they offered a cheaper plan with hotlinking I might have stuck with them just not to deal with the PITB aspect. But NO! I am NOT paying $400 per year to hotlink to less than 200 photos. The freaking beancounters at PhotoBucket will realize what a huge mistake they made while people leave in droves.Don't do it. Yeah, but they might have been able to make money off of us if they offered a reasonable option. PLUS, their advertisers pay for eyeballs. Fewer customers = fewer eyeballs = fewer advertisers. But they weren't making money off of us anyway.Meanwhile, they were paying for all the bandwidth space we were all using having them host our pics. That's why I don't think they will be around in a few months.
Even of they charged us all a reasonable $5/mo, they are probably already in too deep of a hole. NOW, when they go under, they can blame US for not paying the $400
extortionfee.
...is that a frittata? Whatever it is, it looks delicious....
I have a question. Can you still see your photos on PhotoBucket or are they totally held hostage? I'm busy downloading mine right now.
Your OWN photos? Wow. My account is still OK but I'm downloading everything.I can see them but it takes some clicking to get the grey box to go away.
I click on a photo. There's the grey box.
I enlarge the photo by clicking on the magnifying glass. Then I can see the photo. (I can download this photo to my computer by right mouse clicking and then clicking "Save Image As." )
I click on "Go Back" in the upper left corner and the photo finally shows up again on that page. And there is also a Download button there in the right column.

....I just logged onto my Photobucket account and didn't have any problems seeing my photos. I was trying to consolidate them and have a lot of trouble moving photos into different folders....I'm just trying to get them into some kind of order...in some cases, the photos could not be moved........I click on an individual photo. There's the grey box......

....I don't want to even THINK about going back and reading my old TR's....robinb said:...In the meantime, it's like PhotoBucket broke the freaking internet. Everywhere I look I suddenly see the stoopid "please update your account" in place of people's photos.
It's like that all over the Internets.....I don't want to even THINK about going back and reading my old TR's....![]()
