Not sure if I’ve gone crazy

Polynesian points resale seem to be almost as high as direct. So I guess the question is resale vs direct … if the perks are worth it or not. I’m sure you guys have watched DVC fan on YouTube? They seem to favor resale..of course they do sell them for a living ..but I’ve learned a lot from them
The gap between resale and direct for Poly isn't significant enough to buy resale when you consider the length of time that you'll be using it. While direct benefits are not guaranteed, they do add some value, if you are going to use them.
Probably should just buy a SSR second contract for points and call it a day!

Do you all think stripped contracts are worth it if you can get a good deal?
I'm not a fan of stripped contracts, unless they are truly bargain basement. I couldn't imagine going through waiting 60+ days for the contract to close and then waiting another year to get my points.

I'll just caveat that slightly and say, unless and until OP decides there is something specific for which she wants or needs home resort priority. Resort view 1 BR villas at Poly, BLT, BWV come to mind - if she takes some time and decides she just absolutely loves one of those resorts and wants to be able to stay in those cheaper point 1 BRs, well, then, CCV won't be the best option.
SSR & CCV are still great options as SAP for those resorts as you can buy more points and thus grab the preferred rooms since you are correct the resort rooms will be much harder.

PVB I think you have to own there regardless as there are only 72 1 bedrooms total which matches owners home resort BRV which is much smaller.
CCV actually has a smaller amount but do to only sleeping 4 they don't book as fast.

I probably won’t be able to get anything. What should I do with 112 points that will expire at the end of August 2026? Are they sellable?

No that requires selling the contract but you will be able to rent them out.

You can list on this board you have 112 BRV points at $xx or you could go with a broker like the board sponsor.

You should be able to certainly get something for the summer. Perhaps you have friends that have kids that would like a trip.

Perhaps your listing agent got it wrong and the points are actually bankable.

You will be able to get something, just prepare for split stays and if you really want a certain hotel you need to check multiple times a day for a shot

Yes they can be rented out.

If you are flexible with dates you should have no problem booking something.

No they were borrowed from 2026 for some reason so they have to be used. One time I will not go to Disney is in the summer! Do people have good luck on this board renting points?

Definitely true now, but I think it's a pretty open question how that will shake out once fully declared, sold out, and the newness wears off. VGF only has 47 1 BRs, but I think the steeper points chart helps keep 7-month availability pretty good. Could easily see the same thing happening with PIT in a few years. Even more so if LSL comes in with similarly sized 1 BRs (maybe even 2 bathrooms?) and a better points chart, even if only slightly so.

Agreed. I was all excited to someday use points out there, but now I'd rather just save my points and book offsite. They really need to look at the value proposition of Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian. I have no idea who would want to own at DLH right now.
We LOVE owning at DLH. We drive cross country to go and you couldn’t pay us to stay offsite and get our catalytic converter stolen. Or our car broken into. The safe parking at DLH alone is worth our 250 points lol.
