*Not so Scary* Fridge/Toaster/Coffee Pot Swap!oPEN 5/12-6/8

I am looking into shipping the *brand new* coffee pot that I am donating to the Pop at the start of the swap so everyone will be able to enjoy it (I know I can't get out of the room w/o a cup of coffee much less to the food court). :surfweb:

Accountingbabe08 is looking at getting a very nice, very large fridge for this swap. Without her generosity we'd all be paying $10 a day to rent a much smaller fridge. Thank you so much for your kindness Accountingbabe08, please know how much we appreciate your effort. :cheer2:

Now, we'd have a trifecta if someone was willing to donate a toaster....any takers?? popcorn::

Again, I am happy to bring a container of cleaning wipes and some tape/labels/sharpie marker for the box.

Ok, who can tell I'm trying to keep myself occupied over the next 2 months and 3 weeks. :rotfl2: :dance3:

We have a toaster donated by Ears they are leaving on the 6th of October they are leaving it for me in luggage services.

Belinda

Now we just need more swappers

To drum up business I've added a line about the swap to my signature.

Maybe we need to come up with a fun name for the swap. Only thing I can think is like "Mickey's Very Merry, no Not Scary Fridge/toaster/coffee maker swap" but that won't be relevant after the new year....

I am interested in joining your swap. I will be at the Pop 11/18-11/23. I have never done this before, so I may be PM'ing you with more questions.

Thank you very much accountingbabe for your kind donation. :yay:

We're going to be at Pop September 3rd - 12th, 2010 (we booked the bounce back offer while there last week). If you're booking that far in advance we'd love to use the fridge.

Thanks :)

I'm thinking of buying a fridge and donating it for a fridge swap while I'm down @ POP and wanted to see if there was any interest here on the disboards. My reasoning for doing this is because I cannot find a fridge swap for all of my dates.

Ok, I'm obnoxiously curious, but why are you doing this? It costs you more to buy a fridge than the alternative of renting a fridge from Disney. So you're purchasing (at a considerable loss) then transporting at some inconvenience, a fridge to the resort, and after that more or less committing to the responsibility of managing the swap, out of the goodness of your heart? Is there a fee for swapping that I'm missing in the fine print?

I'm paying for it using it then donating it to the swap so other disers can use it after me. The disboards rules state that no money is to switch hands. If you would like to join let me know.

In the dates of the swap accounting babe has 2 trips during the swap time frame. Her 2 trips total 16 days; at $12 per day for a rental she is actually saving money by purchasing a fridge, shipping it to the resort and allowing others to benefit from it in between her trips. She is also getting a larger fridge than she could rent from Disney and a toaster & coffee maker. In her situation it makes sense.

POP on Dec.29-Jan.1

I got a pm but I can't answer yet bec. it says I need to post at least 15, this is my 11th..

Anyway, I would like to join the fridge swap pls. on Dec. 29, 2009-Jan.1,2010.

:yay:

Thanks, Mrs D, that clears up my confusion.

darn me for being a lurker..i can't send u a PM...but i am looking at joining your swap..we are at pop from dec 17-26 if that is possible

We will be at POP from Aug 15-22, 2010. would it be possible to reserve the refrig for that time frame? I have done the swaps previously, actually had one myself a few years back until it was lost. I understand all of the rules and cleaning it out and either handing it off or leaving in luggage service. Please let me know and what information you would like.

I have added fridge/toaster/coffee pot current availability in our title to advertise some more swappers.

Time for a little getting to know you: (I suddenly feel like Julie the cruise director from the Love Boat :lmao:)

Is anyone in our swap planning on attending either MNSSHP or MVMCP?

I am still debating if the kids will come or not, but I am pretty sure we'll do MVMCP on 12/15.
