Has anyone been allocated seats on the eurostar apart from each other?

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 3 and 6 and we have been given 2 seats together and 2 single seats apart from each other. One of us will have to sit with the 3 yr old but I dont really want the 6 yr old to sit by himself for 4 hrs.

I've been told to talk to the train manager when I board and I'm hoping that someone will swap to help us sit together.

I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

Unfortunately this seems to happen quite a lot if you're not booking direct with Eurostar. Seats through agents are allocated in a different way I think. Hopefully some people will swap with you.

What are your seat numbers because they may seem like they are apart when they arnt, for example we had 43 44 and 47 and they were next two each other and opposite (we had a table in the middle). Also going out our carriage had a couple of other in it and was empty and the carriage behind us was completely empty.

Where abouts are you going from, because it should only be 3 hours max if going from London. Worst case, your 3yr old could sit on your lap (then ask for a refund as kids under 4 can go free this way) then have your 6yr old sitting next to you and then the other adult on his/her own and maybe swap over half way.

If it's any help I sat between my (almost 7) yr old and my (almost 4) yr old before Xmas on 2 seats, but that was because we hadn't paid for a seat for the 3 yr old. I wouldn't of course be happy doing that if I'd paid for the seats.

Yeh this has happened to me before.

We were sat at either ends of the carriage!

It once happened to us but people moved round a little bit to accommodate. The Disney travellers were very kind.

This happen to us too, the people we were sitting with were really moody and took over the table plus kept tutting when the baby made a noise:sad2: so Dh and I swapped and he took the baby and I took my 3 & 6 year olds and we all shared there was plenty of room too!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all your help, I thought I'd call up eurostar one last time, and they have moved us to sit together :)

This has happened to me and my brother. I'm in Carriage 4, he is in Carriage 16 :rotfl:

I'm going to call Eurostar on the morning that we go and ask if there are two seats together anywhere on the train.
