Not ROFR thread - general discussion

, were you able to remain firmly in that camp even after trying one/two bedrooms?
We mix back and forth. Our style is mostly short trips/park warrior with “time awake in room” maybe 30 minutes in the AM, 30-60 mid-day between parks, and 30min at night (for kids) and 90m (adults). We love the villas for the fridge, washer/dryer, and soaking tub but can live without out on a 4 day or less trip…more than 4 days and we want to be in a villa.
I’m already being asked to bring school friends on these trips - far earlier than I expected - so part of me wonders if I should just admit defeat now. 🤣😭😎
Do you drive or fly? We let kids occasionally bring friends to our local park (DLR) for a day, but even if you have space in your room, the extra park tickets, food, LLs, flights, all add up to at least an extra $1000 per guest.

Ultimately I think it’s about tradeoffs — do you want to take fewer more luxurious/comfortable trips or more trips on studios? The answer will vary by family.

I like the idea of having a 4-day threshold for the studio vs one bedroom…although all of our trips are usually a week + so I guess I have my answer 🤣

The other challenge is that I’ve been working remotely for a few days on our longer stays and have found that having the door to the bedroom for work has been invaluable - both for me and DD.

We fly to WDW so yep bringing a friend will definitely add to our costs - I was budgeting $1500 all in. 😬

We bought into DVC after our first 1 br villa stay at a DVC resort. Our son had just hit preteen years and we could see where the added privacy and space was going to be the way to travel. We only utilize studios on short stays now or couples trips.
