We mix back and forth. Our style is mostly short trips/park warrior with “time awake in room” maybe 30 minutes in the AM, 30-60 mid-day between parks, and 30min at night (for kids) and 90m (adults). We love the villas for the fridge, washer/dryer, and soaking tub but can live without out on a 4 day or less trip…more than 4 days and we want to be in a villa., were you able to remain firmly in that camp even after trying one/two bedrooms?
Do you drive or fly? We let kids occasionally bring friends to our local park (DLR) for a day, but even if you have space in your room, the extra park tickets, food, LLs, flights, all add up to at least an extra $1000 per guest.I’m already being asked to bring school friends on these trips - far earlier than I expected - so part of me wonders if I should just admit defeat now.![]()
Ultimately I think it’s about tradeoffs — do you want to take fewer more luxurious/comfortable trips or more trips on studios? The answer will vary by family.
