I am not a fan either and wont use them again unless the price is amazing (unlikely here), but im glad everything went well for me aside from them seeming to not care to get things moving faster or about us in general.DVC Resale Market totally messed up…claimed they couldn’t send an email to me so they had to call (this was after I’d already moved through the process at Vacation Club Life) and they told me the seller’s counter offer was 148 per point for a listing I’d put in 125 offer for and was listed at 132!! So they for sure aren’t perfect.
They will have some “Red Hot Deal” or “Certified Hot Price” every now and then, but that just brings the price from laughable to funny.Does DVC Resale Market ever drop their prices significantly? I see some contracts I like, however their asking price is truly laughable (who even comes up with these numbers sometimes, wild...)
Just offer what you want, don't worry about the advertised price, never hurts to try.Does DVC Resale Market ever drop their prices significantly? I see some contracts I like, however their asking price is truly laughable (who even comes up with these numbers sometimes, wild...)

I have my alerts set now and called it "good deals" and i only look at ones that are reasonable (but im also not in the market anymore). Now that im set i want to track if there's any price drops! When you get an alert email for a new listing so you open it up and literally laugh out loud at the obscene price they are asking.
Seller paying the maintenance fees is a great oneCan anyone tell me, what’s realistically up for negotiation when making an offer? Obviously the total cost but what about other fees/costs? I’ve just seen a contract that has an excellent price that I doubt they’d budge on but curious what other elements could be haggled on.
So say im buying an Oct/Dec UY contract that has 2024 points. They should have had dues paid already, so unlikely to get that right?Seller paying the maintenance fees is a great one

Yes dues will already be paid, however read your contract carefully, all the small print up and down.So say im buying an Oct/Dec UY contract that has 2024 points. They should have had dues paid already, so unlikely to get that right?
However, if it was say a Feb contract, several months have passed already of that UY so reasonable that seller pays part/all those dues?
Are closing costs negotiable at some resalers? There is a DVC resale site that states in their FAQ on Closing Costs that "buyers cannot negotiate asking for the selling to pay or share in the cost of these fees. This fee includes a title search, providing the buyer with title insurance, document preparation and recording fees... The buyer always pays the closing costs. We do not allow buyers to negotiate who pays this fee..."Closing costs.
Who pays certain closing costs can be negotiated--not the amounts (except for any service fee). But my general advice--it's better to focus on the cost of points in negotiations and maybe who pays this years MFs.Are closing costs negotiable at some resalers? I don't know if it's just that particular site that has that rule or if it's not allowed anywhere, so was curious.
Interesting. I have never bid with anyone who said closing costs weren’t negotiable. I am in the camp of negotiating fees can greatly reduce your overall costs and often sellers just want to feel like they are getting more money per point even if the bottom line is the exact same number. A mental thing really. Not all sellers are this way but I have found it to work in my favor. Are closing costs negotiable at some resalers?
