Not ready yet???!!! A February trip report! Update 10/25 Day 9

Karin you have some great friends! My favorite of all your treats are the coconut Mickey's. I always get a box of those when we visit.

Some really good friends they are ....... and very generous too!
I love the coconut patties too! They are so good! I brought a few home, but they are all gone now! :sad2:

YAY for being that much closer to EMHs! I can't wait to see your pictures from that evening. I have a feeling they are going to be just a bit better than mine! :lmao::lmao:

Wow, thats alot of snacks! Did you take them all home or eat them there :lmao:

Everytime I go to Publix (grocery store) I crack up at the California citrus in Florida! I try to go to the local farmers market but they only have them in the winter and the prices have been so high lately!

That is crazy to me...California produce in Florida. :confused3 But its also fairly standard; our produce is shipped in from all over the place.

Those scarves are too cute!! :) I saw them in Nicki's DR and thought they were so cool!! :thumbsup2

There is a very creative art teacher at the school I teach at who came up with the basic idea for an event at school. I was going to do t-shirts, but the scarves seem so much cooler. And what does a girl who lives in South Florida need, if not a scarf? :lmao:

I cannot believe that I had to devide that day into so many portions! :rotfl2: It really WAS a long day and we just kept going. :thumbsup2
Only one more update and then we will be enjoying EMHs together! ;)

We LOVE California produce - very tasty and they smell really nice. It was just awkward that in Florida, that produces all that OJ, they would have to use California oranges. :confused3

Day 2, February 20

Friends, treats, a DREAM and finally a hotel room - Part 7

Tina came over to drive to the Contemporary with us, as there were Extra Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom and we were to meet there lateron.
We arrived at the Contemporary just in time to make it to our reservation, signed in and were handed a buzzer.
Then we took a seat in the lounge area and waited for our buzzer to go off. Well, we didn’t sit there long and we were called, as our table was ready. Once we sat down we were greeted by our server and she took our drinks orders, Diet Cokes and left us with the menus. She soon came back with our drinks, took our orders for the main courses and rushed back with a basket of Whole Grain Bread

and some Butter with sea salt.

I was still busy taking photos of it when the table next to us complained that the bread was still frozen. So while I was still trying to get the best picture of the bread it was whisked away by the server and we were told she would be back with some edable bread real soon.
She reappeared about 2 minutes later with some hot bread. A little while later our main courses arrived.
Tom had the Chili-marinated Flat Iron Steak with Grilled Vidalia Onions, Boniato Mash, Chipotle Barbecue Sauce, and Marinated Beet Salad,

while I had ordered the Apple Brined Pork Tenderloin with Bourbon Sweet Mashed Potatoes, Warm Spinach-Bacon Salad, and Sassafras Jus.

Both were wonderful and tasty.
Since we had tried some of the snacks we weren’t too hungry in the first place, but at a place like The Wave, you cannot leave without trying some of their desserts and especially now that they have introduced a whole new range of desserts.
So we both ordered dessert.

Tom had the Freshly Made Gelato, Popcorn Gelato,

IMG_9617.jpg

Rocky Road Chocolate Gelato,

IMG_9614.jpg

and Peanut Butter and Jelly Gelato.

My heart was set on the American Flavors, Mississippi Mud Pie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream,

IMG_9624.jpg

Key Lime Cube with fresh Citrus Whipped Cream,

IMG_9620.jpg

and Boston Cream Pie.

IMG_9623.jpg

Since they have some really special Lavender infused Earl Grey Tea I had to have that too.

When we ordered desserts the restaurant started to clear out but there were still several tables occupied. Until we had finally finished our desserts and tea the restaurant had gotten empty and we were once again the last people to leave the restaurant.

It was Extra Magic Hour from midnight until 3am at the Magic Kingdom and we were determined to at least give it a try.

Wow, that is a lot of snacks! If you space them out good enough maybe you could have a taste of Disney every week until your next trip.

The Wave looks very good. I have nevered even considered it before.

It was FAR more than we could have eaten during a four week vacation, let alone a one week one! ;) We brought home lots of snacks and we still have some of them! :thumbsup2 Whenever we open another bag of snacks it's like a little bit of a vacation! :goodvibes

We LOVE the Wave! We have always had good food and good service. I love their idea of the tiny desserts. That way you get to try more than one! AND they were all pretty good!

Wow what a wonderful surprise to find in your room :cloud9:

Full of lovely yummy goodies to snack on during your trip, so very thoughtful of your friends

Ooh....that looks so yummy. I keep wanting to get The Wave on my list and never find room for it. I think NEXT year we are going to go with ALL new restaurants (except CP and Plaza that is).

Awesome gifts, v cool scarf different and unique :)

Wow that pork tenderloin looks soooo good and the rest that comes with it yum!

Wow 3am EMH that is late, can't wait to hear what you get up to :)

Your meal at the Wave looks amazing! I have never been, but hope to go in December. Is it one ts credit?

The Wave is on my list of places I really want to get to, but never seem to fit in!! Maybe November.....:thumbsup2

I really enjoyed the Wave, but on our next trip we are going to all new restaurants. The one exception will be Teppan Edo, my DH really wanted to go back there. Since he is a Disney resister I wanted to make sure that he was happy! :thumbsup2

Your meal at the Wave looked great. The mini desserts were really interesting. All things I would love. Someday we'll try it.

Can't wait for you next update! :goodvibes

The Wave looks delish! :) Those new desserts look so yummy! I'll have to get there on an upcoming trip to try out those gelatos!! :cloud9:

We just LOVE the Wave! We went when it first opened and ever since have been hooked!
The food is really good and I just love the desserts and the tea is one of the best I ever had! :cloud9:
You really NEED to find time to fit it in! :thumbsup2

I could not believe how generous our friends had been! We loved all our gifts and the scarf is cute, isn't it?

Yip, we tried to stay up late on our first full day, and you'll find out soon how we did! popcorn::

The Wave is one credit, but the food is really good and the desserts are wonderful! Tom isn't really into cakes and things, but he loved the ice-creams and they were just soooooo good! Wonderful flavour in all three of them! :thumbsup2

You have never been? :scared1: It's a great restaurant and the food is really nice!
I hope you find a chance to fit it in in November! :thumbsup2

We always try to have some new restaurants on our list, but we have so many favourites already that it becomes harder every time! :rotfl2:
And I think, even if you want to do all new restaurants, fitting ONE repeat in to keep the Disney resister happy, is the perfect solution! ;)

Your meal at the Wave looked great. The mini desserts were really interesting. All things I would love. Someday we'll try it.

Can't wait for you next update! :goodvibes

You would love the Wave! Nice setting, good food and very close to the MK! :lmao:

You want ANOTHER update? :scared1:
But then I might even catch up with you ......... well, I don't think so, as you are already a day ahead of me! :rotfl2:

The Wave looks delish! :) Those new desserts look so yummy! I'll have to get there on an upcoming trip to try out those gelatos!! :cloud9:

It's a wonderful restaurant and the idea of three small desserts is just great - you get to try so much more! ;)
The gelatos were really good - we are used to the real Italian ones and these came pretty close and we were stunned at how well they were able to boost the flavours! :goodvibes
