Not ready yet???!!! A February trip report! Update 10/25 Day 9

Day 2, February 20

Friends, treats, a DREAM and finally a hotel room - Part 8

It was Extra Magic Hour from midnight until 3am at the Magic Kingdom and we were determined to at least give it a try. :thumbsup2

When we arrived at the Magic Kingdom we phoned Tina to let her know that we had finally made it there.

We were at the entrance to Adventureland she was right at the hub, so we met at the gate to Adventureland to experience some rides together.

IMG_9625.jpg

First off we decided to get on the Jungle Cruise. I love that ride at night and the wait was pretty short, so we gave it a go.
Tina had not been on it in some time and we all enjoyed the jokes and sights of the boat ride.
Next we looked into Pirates of the Caribbean and they had a 20 minute wait, so we decided to wait and ride it lateron.

Thunder Mountain had a line which already started outside, no thank you. By then we were way into Extra Magic Hours, so we kept on walking around the edge of the Rivers of America and had a look at how long the line at the Haunted Mansion was.
It looked long, but actually moved fast and we decided to get in line. We were inside the stretching room in no time and even though there were still lots of people we were soon to board a Doombuggy.
Tom rode on his own and I rode with Tina, pointing out the Hidden Donald and Hidden Mickey at the end. Once we got off we walked past the Animal Cemetery and over to Fantasyland.
Peter Pan was offering Fast Passes, so we got some and walked across to “It’s a small world”, which was a virtual walk on.

Once we got off the ride we walked through Fantasyland, looked at the new Fantasyland expansion fences and the long lines for Winnie the Pooh and Philharmagic.
It was time for a biological break near Cosmic Ray and this is where we ran into one of the Cast Members, who, broom and water in hand was drawing characters onto the pavement. Not one, not two, but three characters, Donald, Daisy and Goofy.

Soon there was quite a crowd around him and we all cheered once he had finished his work.

By that time we were able to get another Fast Pass, so we walked over to Space Mountain, but by the time we finally made it there they were all gone and they were already covering the Fast Pass Machines.
So we decided to just do Peter Pan and then try to get on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Peter Pan had the usual long standby line, but Fast Pass was short, so short that we held up the line when I wanted to show Tina the Hidden Mickey in the queue area. We were on the ride, flying over London and off the ride in a flash. After flying over Britain's capital city we thought it would be about time to try Big Thunder Mountain, so we headed over there.

IMG_9639.jpg

It was supposed to be a 10 minute wait, but it was a walk on, so we asked if we could go to the back. :goodvibes
Yes, we could, but we would have to wait a train or two. Didn’t bother us, best seats on that train are in the back, so we waited and within a few minutes we were actually on the train, laughing and having fun. Once we were off we just looked at each other and voted to go again. Same procedure, asked for the back, were allowed to, waited and had fun. So much fun that we did it

IMG_9641.jpg

four times in a row. After the fourth time we decided that there were just one or two more rides we wanted to fit in, so we finally left and walked over to Pirates of the Caribbean.

IMG_9643.jpg

No line here either and we were to be seated front row and ……….. the ride was stopped.
The very nice and funny Cast Member at the start of the ride was trying to keep us entertained but even he ran out of conversation topics during the 20 minutes it took until the ride was functioning again. They had a whole lot of boats going through empty before we were allowed to board and meet those pirates. We still had a few more minutes of Extra Magic Hours left so we headed over to Space Mountain and discovered that it was either down or the line was out the door, so we finally decided to call it a day and head out to the car.

On the way out we had our photo taken by a photopass photographer and then we were really on our way to the car.

About 10 minutes after we had gotten into the car we pulled into the Coronado Springs Parking Lot.
We said goodnight to Tina at our door and didn’t waste much time until we hit those heavenly beds.

:yay: It worked! You posted another update! And now I know the exact order that we rode everything in. :lmao: I think was more or less correct. And we did do BTMRR four times? I thought so. :rotfl2:

Such a fun night! Are you all set for Easter? What are your plans? I can't believe that another week is almost over. :scared1:

Awesome update, Karin. I love what those CM's do with the brush and bucket on the ground...so very :cool1:

I love that you, Tom and Tina got to do quite a bit while you were there for EMH's. And a big :thumbsup2 for Thunder Mountain four times in a row--one of my favorites.

The rides were emptly like that when we went to the Christmas party. It's pretty cool you can get to ride the rides all you want without the line. Is Big Thunder mountain scary? Even though it will be our 5th time going I have never been on it and my kids are finally old enough to ride some rides other that POTC lol. I have never gone through the singles line either because I felt guilty about leaving the family lol
We are still trying to make my dd grow so she will meet the height requirements.

Wow you really made the most of your time and spent it really well. Karin you are the Queen of MK PM EMH's :worship:

I love the water character CM's, so talented. I hope we get to see more this year :)

What a night. I love late EMH's. Claire and I lasted till 2:45 AM, and I think she really wanted to stay till the end, but I just couldn't go anymore. She was asleep about 2 seconds after we walked out the gate in the stroller.

How awesome to ride BTMR 4 times in a row! We just rode it once, and Claire decided that she is no longer a fan of it. Hopefully she forgets that by next trip

I was terribly far behind:confused3

What wonderful friends you have...those goody bags were amazing ,.. and quite yummy by the looks of things. Those CM can do wonders with a mop and bucket...I have a hard enough time just washing the floor some days:lmao:

The food at The Wave looks spectacular! We really must try it on one of our trips!!!

Staying late at MK is so much fun! I tried it for the first time back in December. I rode HM, BTMR, and Splash with no wait at all!

I wonder if I should wait with another update until you bribe me again? :lmao:
We really had fun that night and enjoyed spending it with you.

We are finally set for Easter! :cool1: Even though there is nothing big I have done there were so many things to catch up on that the week just rushed by. I intend to enjoy the remaining 4 days off (we go back on Wednesday next week). :goodvibes

We came about one of those "broom artists" last summer and were stunned at what they were able to do with a simple broom and a bucket of water! The one at the MK drew quite a crowd once he started!
We had such a fun night together! We just love riding BTMR ......... one of the best rides ever! And Tina didn't seem to mind! :rotfl2: It made me remember those first e-ride nights we used to do, when we didn't even have to get up and walk around! :thumbsup2

I remember that from the other parties we went too as well. The later it got the emptier the rides got - spells FUN to me! ;)
I would not call BTM scary. If you want a moderate ride, sit towards the front - this is one of the rides that feels much faster at the back - so this is where WE sit! :lmao:
Do your kids do the Barnstormer? If they can do that, they can do BTMR!

Hope your DD makes the height requirements! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Thanks for the compliments, Stefy! They are extra special, coming from you!

Isn't it amazing to watch them paint those characters on the floor? They make it look so easy - which I bet it isn't! :rotfl2:

It was quite a night! We had so much fun.

I cannot believe Claire made it until 2.45! :scared1: She's some kind of a girl, a Disney girl! :goodvibes

Claire is no longer a fan of BTMR? Maybe she was just "tired"? I really, really hope she forgets not liking it, as it is a wonderful ride! One of the very best, even though I have to add that the best BTMR I have yet ridden (in DL, WDW and DLRP) is here in Paris! Longer, faster and through underground tunnels! :thumbsup2

I was terribly far behind:confused3

Don't worry, I get behind on my threads weekly! ;) :lmao:

We are blessed with our friends! All the snacks would have easily lasted us for 4 weeks, and I wish we would have had a chance to stay for that long in February - the weather was just PERFECT ........ and the company too! :goodvibes

If you haven't tried the Wave, you really should give it a try one day! :thumbsup2 It is a bit different in terms of what they offer, but very tasty! :)

Staying late at MK is so much fun! I tried it for the first time back in December. I rode HM, BTMR, and Splash with no wait at all!

We love it, when the MK is open really late. At midnight there were still a lot of people around but about an hour later they started thinning out and the CMs become more relaxed, they joke around and you can "feel" that they like their job. :goodvibes (Very few of that kind of CMs here in DLRP).

Day 3, February 21

A lazy President’s Day with lots of sunshine, treats and a dinner with a view! - Part 1

It was President’s Day and since we had only gotten to bed by 3.30am we decided to sleep in and only got up around 9am.

Tom made some coffee and we had some of our cookies for breakfast.

IMG_9644.jpg

We unpacked and by 11am we were ready to head out to do some shopping. We drove over to Publix and did some shopping.

There are some staples we want to have every trip, so we got those and a few more treats we wanted to try.

Since we were already close to the Kissimmee Krispy Kreme, we took a chance and drove there. We were happy to see that the “Hot Now” sign was actually on and parked our car and headed into the store. We bought half a dozen glazed doughnuts and plopped down at a table.

IMG_9648.jpg

Now it came in handy that we had only had a small cookie or two for breakfast. :lmao:

Tom got some chocolate milk

IMG_9649.jpg

and I got a Diet Coke

IMG_9650.jpg

and we started munching the first one of our doughnuts.

IMG_9652.jpg

So yummy and it was gone fast.

Should we eat a second one?

Hm, they were hot and yummy and calling our name.

We had a second one. ;) Now the two left over doughnuts looked really sad, so we decided that even though we were full we would put them out of their misery and eat them too!
Stuffed to the gills we went and washed our hands before we picked up another half dozen to take back to the room.
On the way back to the resort we stopped once or twice to look at one shop or another, but all those souvenir shops along I 192 look exactly the same. We came back to the resort in the early afternoon and were sure that our room was done by then – nope!

Not Ready Yet!!

So we put everything away, had a drink, grabbed our cameras and decided to explore the resort for a while.

IMG_9654.jpg

First we headed over to the pool because Tina had mentioned before that they might be there.

You're off, Wednesday, too? So jealous! We're back first thing Monday morning! I hate having to go back the next day after a holiday, but there isn't much to do about it!

EMHs were so much fun! And I truly LOVE BTMRR...its my favorite ride.

You got such beautiful shots of the resort...and I wonder if we see you? :rotfl:

I missed two updates! :scared1:

I love MK EMH! They're so much fun. Every ride is a walk-on!

Great that you got to ride BTMRR 4 times! :thumbsup2

I love the drawings that the CM's do on the pavement! They're so talented!

CSR is SO pretty! I cannot wait to stay there in August! :yay:

tiggereasater.jpg

Happy Easter, Karin and Tom.

And those Krispy Kreme's did NOT pass by me...I saw them. I actually got to have two when in Florida earlier this month...I was so excited.:banana::banana:
