I just linked our UT tickets to our BoardWalk ressie for Oct and the message appeared :Good news––your MagicBand package will be waiting for you at your Disney Resort hotel! Simply pick it up at the front desk when you arrive.

I have no reason to need them before we arrive but I'm wondering if there is a way to get them shipped if we want them in hand or are they not shipping anymore.

Thanks,
Bill From PA

We just got ours for a trip later this month last week. So maybe they're making a change, or maybe it's a glitch and the message will change later. Who knows.

That's really strange because if you're taking ME to Disney, then you will need them as they use them to "check you in".

Make sure you checked the 'verify your address' page. If you don't verify it (even if you've gotten MB's before) it will default to resort pickup.

I hope not - I have to decorate my bands before we go! On one hand, it makes sense to get rid of the extra mailing expense. But on the other, it doesn't make any sense if they're trying to streamline resort check-in. :confused3 Maybe its just a glitch?

You don't need the bands to ride DME. The vouchers are still sent to your house and you can use them, or you can get new vouchers at the DME desk at MCO if you lose or forget them. DME information is on the bands, but they're certainly not the only way to obtain access to the buses.

I am sorry to say, but this is incorrect. They can use them if you have them. however, they are not at all needed to use ME. Otherwise, no international visitors could use ME since Disney will not ship the bands to them at all. All you need is your reservation information.

Thanks for the replies, I just did verify my address to see if that makes a difference. As mentioned I don't really need them ahead of time, we land at 9:30, we'll either have a rental or Tiffany to get to Board Walk and our only goal is to be in WS by 11 am on Oct 16.

Our MB's for our upcoming trip (8/29) just arrived by mail today-

I thought we were going to have to pick them up when we checked-in, but guess not-

Personally, I wondered why they felt the need to mail them. Think of all the money they will save on postage.

I'm guessing because if they mail them, tickets are linked, then the people with the bands can go straight to the park when they arrive if they so choose. With resort pick up, they'd have to physically check in at their resort to get the MBs/tickets to then enter a park..

I had an email Saturday (8/02) that said our MB's have been shipped via USPS parcel post with a tracking #

Is it possible to customize your Magic Bands and then not have them mailed to you? We are going on a cruise before we go to Disney and I'm afraid they won't get to us before we leave home for the cruise. I would like to customize them and then just pick them up at the resort. Is this an option?:confused3

I'm with you. I want my plain gray band so I can paint it purple! I guess I can take fingernail polish with me, but would be more fun to have it ahead of time so I can stare at it and get excited.

Personally I'm about to get like my 5th one this fall. I wish they'd give you a "don't need a new band" option. I'm out of colors that I like.

On a related subject. I verified my address. Picked our bands. Is there a message or email I should have gotten to confirm my order? MDE has the bands listed under "ordered" - but still says I have x number of days to customize. Are they really ordered? Do I just wait to get an email to say they've been mailed? Just feels like I'm not sure if they're really ordered.

Yeah, I received 3 emails from Disney last week to verify our address and reminding us that our customization time period was coming to an end. Everything is correct so I assume we'll get our bands in a week or so. :)

We received ours last week for our trip at the end of the month. In fact, I got multiple emails to confirm my address so they could ship them.
