I'll defend the pool/lightening wait time though. Florida is the #1 lightening strike capital. It's common advise to wait 30 minutes from the last seen lightening or heard thunder to be safe!. I'm sure the lifeguards are doing pool chores after the 30 mi. just to keep busy.

I agree also. The staff probably wants to rearrange the chairs back to where it should be so it doesn't look cluttered and probably picking up some garbage around the pool. This is their chance to do it because the pool area is empty of people.

OP- You know, I totally agree with you about the buses. When we stayed at BWV in Feb, I remember saying to DH that this whole sharing w/4 other resorts has to suck when it's busy. I understand BC sharing with YC.... But this sharing w/4 other resorts is kinda crazy. Especially since they charge so much to stay there. We honestly thought that all 5 of the resorts only shared buses during the slow season... Guess not!
And about the bees. So Disney doesn't want to kill anything, huh? What happens when a child with a severe allergy gets stung and goes into anaphylactic shock? That could possibly kill them. I understand bees are needed. But from what I'm gathering from the OP, is that there was an abnormally large amount of them flying around the pool. That needs to be dealt with. I understand if they were mainly around the soda fountain, tho. I don't know if there's much they can do about that bc of all the sugar. Anyway, We live in Florida and yes there are a lot of bees and wasps. But where we live the HOA takes care of removing bee hives and wasps nests and bc of that, we rarely see them. There's no reason why Disney can't do the same.
Anyway, despite your valid complaints, I hope you still had a great trip!

I haven't read past the first page....but....all the deluxe resorts share a bus with at least one other, and usually two other resorts. And those resorts are sometimes not as close as the Epcot resorts.

If by "share a bus" you mean that the bus goes to one deluxe and picks up folks and then to another completely different resort then I guess we have just lucked up all these times we've gone because that hasn't been our experience at all.

I do not see why YC & BC cannot also exclusively share a bus.

The YC and BC have exclusively shared a bus to the MK and AK when I have stayed at the Swan - at least for park openings and closings. The MK has separate bus stops for the YC/BC as well as the BW/S/D.

FWIW, I've never found the bus service to be "fast everywhere" at any resort. There are always pluses and minuses.
Epcot resorts work for us, because we can walk to two of the parks. We love that!

It sounds like you were a bit luckier than the OP! Your experience is, unfortunately, not always the case.

You are likely thinking of Blizzard Beach, but the AKL buses definitely do not always stop there en route to/from the parks. You are correct that the bus service is not ideal at any of the deluxes, but it seems that the consensus is that the Epcot resort bus service is particularly bad.

SSR last Feb, didn't share a bus. CR a couple times last year, didn't share a bus. OKW, May 2011, didn't share a bus. When we stayed at YC I don't remember sharing a bus but to be perfectly honest we didn't use the buses except for returning late at night from MK or DTD. The kids like the monorail so we tended to walk into Epcot and go up front to the monorail station.

I leave for the BC on Thursday morning... A couple of the comments in this post really concern me!

1) Bees? If there is a bee problem, Disney DOES need to deal with it. I know they don't like to kill bees and whatnot but there are ways to handle bees so they are not a problem. For example, installing a beehive near the property to draw the bees away from the area is one resolution.

2) The buses. Why on Earth would they make deluxe resorts share a bus? I don't understand why this would be set up this way... We rely on Disney transportation and I don't have a problem waiting a reasonable amount of time for buses... But this sounds like a disaster waiting to happen...

The rest of it, eh... won't really impact my vacation at all so I'm not really worried. We are there to have fun and don't expect everything to be perfect.

But the bus thing...

We have stayed at the BC the last 3 summers. The bus issue is to AK or to Downtown Disney. To Epcot you get to walk (which is FANTASTIC) and you can also either walk or ride a boat to DHS. To MK we just share with the YC, you are picked up secnd for the MK and returning off YC is dropped off first but they are so close it is not an issue. We usually just drive to the AK when we go there. The pool is fantastic and the overall ambience is fabulous.

This is a situation where we'd take a cab. For me, the cost would be well worth the savings in time, especially early in the morning.

How bad are the rooms? I had thought there was a refurbishment not that long ago?

Also is the earliest time the buses start to run for a 9am MK opening 8am? What time does the Character Breakfast bus run from? Maybe we'll take the super early bus to ensure we get there in time to see the park opening ceremony (my nephews and niece have never seen it and I remember it from back when my parents used to take me and my brothers)

I was there the same exact time as the OP and while I did see bees I did not find them to be bad. Its not as if they were swarming like some SciFi channel horror movie. If we go down this path why doesn't Disney kill all the love bugs while they're at it?

We stayed there. The bus service is horrid and the toilet backed up onto the floor with nothing in it to stop it up. Toilet water spilled all over and out into the dressing area. Disney moved us into another room after about 3 hours and gave us a generous hotel credit which I used to purchase a Dooney.

Bad experience, yep. They dealt with it ok and I love to show my toilet Dooney to friends.

Same here.. I don't mind if the bus will circle the resort, but for the bus to drive from one resort to another resort to another resort and to another resort, I don't think I would like that.

Can you imagine if each one of those Epcot resorts were set up where there are at least 3 stops (inner bus depot) and there are about 4 resorts that is sharing the bus.. that's at least 12 stops! I know.. I'm being silly. I'm sure if it was set up like that they would probably only share the bus with two resorts.

We stayed at the Beach Club in July. We did not go to DTD but we went to MK and AK, we had no bus issues at all. I had read here before we left that it was a nightmare to get on the bus at BC in the mornings. I told DH that we needed to walk down to the YC and catch the bus. He laughed. We got there and had no problems whatsoever! The buses were empty!

At MK there was a YC/BC stop and a BWI/SD busstop.

The only time we stopped at all 5 resorts was when we came home midday during a rainstorm from AK, then we were all squeezed onto one bus.
