Not impressed with rfc at all!!

I hate RFC. It's loud and sticky and dirty and overpriced. The kids' chicken nuggets are the factory formed dinosaur ones you can find in any grocery store freezer. When my family insists on it I just get a drink.

I don't condone stiffing your servers except in the very worst of service circumstances but that's a personal prerogative, I guess.

I Don't ever not leave a tip--but i just felt that my little appetizer was already overpriced as it was..im sorry that you guys had a bad experience also- so what kind of drink do you get?

apparantly you have not tried taste pilots grill.. they got good burgers and a super fresh toppings bar!

You're right! I'll give that one a try next time around...

And one thing I've found around here is that food is a very subjective business. What one person hates, another loves. It all depends on what you eat at home and how picky you are, etc. I think RFC is like Hometown Buffet. So if you like that kind of food, you're good to go.

A beer or a soda. Sometimes I'd get my kid to skip the meal and instead get the $9 Icee in the souvenir cup.

Not tipping because your food was overpriced is kind of punishing your bartender for something he has no control over.

We have been eating at the RFC since our first trip in 2003. We have gone a minimum of once a year for at least a week. We used to eat there two nights a trip as the food was fresh and reasonably priced. They used to have fresh house made crabcakes that were out of this world. Those went away a few years ago, then the napa slaw side that also was incredible is now gone. This June was our last meal there. Prices seemed alot higher, and quality definitely lower. In fact we didnt go to the second night ressie it was so bad. The food was sloppy greasy and service was slow to say the least. They have gone way down hill and it is upsetting to see changes like this. We all looked so forward to eating there every trip.

well no, i just felt and again i will say this i have my reason for not leaving a small tip--but overall i was not really impressed at all with the whole xperience...

We always end up eating at the RFC about once a year and it has been hit or miss but the kids love it SO much.

By far my worst experience has been the T-rex cafe (owned by the RFC company) at WDW. Hate to say it but we had one of those experiences that definitely left me saying I will NEVER go back..the worst food (and I rarely say that), the worst service and WAAAAY over priced. When the waiter saw I didnt even eat half my food he didnt offer exchanging it or taking it off the menu (standard good restaurant service) and then had someone else bring us the check even though he was still waiting tables.

I suppose my point is that the same restaurant can have good service or bad service and its a personal preference on the food so I would say go for the atmosphere because thats why we go. But we make it a policy never to wait longer than about 15 minutes.

I don't know anyone that likes the food there. I was so excited to eat there for the first time on one of our recent trips, and I loved everything about it but the food, lol. And the prices, but I don't like any prices at DLR, so I try not to think about that. We had great service and the atmosphere is great- the kids loved it, but the food was blah. I might go there again just for the atmosphere, so long as I had reservations and did not have to wait to be seated.

Everyone has different experiences...we just got back from Disneyland and thought that this was the ONLY decent meal we had. RFC was really good, but maybe we hit it on a good day? The other meals we had were blah...mediocre food at best.

I agree with you, Erin. Everyone has different experiences and tastes. What's great to one person may be terrible to someone else. And then throw in the dreaded 'off days' at restaurants and you never know what you will get. Some folks have gotten food poisoning at Tortilla Jo's and have sworn never to go back, while other people eat there on every DLR trip!:rotfl2: You just never know...

But I like RFC too, so you're not alone! Then again, I also like Goofy's and you don't, so there you go!:rotfl2: We all have different experiences and preferences, and we eat at these places on different days.

We really like RFC. The food, the ambiance, the overall experience. And we are DINKS ... Although sometimes DH says I'm just like a kid. Haha!

As for the discounts... Just because they are tenants of Disney does not mean they have to give Disney APs discounts, unless Disney requires it in their contract - which we can guess they do not based on the fact that not every place offers it.

The crystal shop on Main Street is not owned by Disney. They used to not offer the AP discount at all. Now, I think the give 10% to all levels of AP as a nice gesture. They do not have to.

I'm up in Seattle and we have a RFC here that the kids love to go to for a special treat. Last year, while killing time in DTD we decided to go to the one there because it was the only thing that we could agree on.

It ended up being one of the worst dining experiences ever! :( There were 5 of us (3 adults, 2 kids ) and 3 of our orders were incorrect (the entrees were totally wrong, it wasn't that they didn't cook it correctly). They dumped the food and walked away without a word and we literally had to get up and go seek out a waiter to help us.

While my daughter was eating (she was 4) she started crying and blood started coming out of her mouth. She spit out a metal item. We flagged a waiter who denied they had anything to do with it, and we asked to speak to a manager. When she came over she looked at it and said it was a cluster from the grill scrubbers (like a steel wool scrubber brush).

Then she said she would give us half off her meal (as my daughter was still bleeding!). I said that was unacceptable, and they said fine, that her meal coupld be comped but nothing else. At this point we just wanted to leave from the bad service so we paid for the other 4 people. But I wished that our entire table would've been comped...with the denying of responsibility and my daughter's cut mouth it seemed the right thing to do. But maybe just her meal was enough?

Either way there is NO way we will be returning to that location.
