I remember the first time I saw the castle.....I had the same reaction as you. It was even more beautiful that anything they ever showed on television.

The two cow characters that you met were Horace and......and......oh shoot, I forgot her name! I am sure somebody will remember her name. Wait, I think it's Clara Bell!

The boys were so young! I love the one of them with Chip & Dale. We've always found that Chip and Dale spend a good bit of time with the guests. They are so playful and fun.

I said the same thing to Ben & my in laws. The tv just doesn't do it justice at all!!!

What did Horace & Clara Bell play on? I don't remember them & that was the only time we had ever seen them!

Chip & Dale are one of my favorites! Seeing Brady's face light up when he saw them, still brings tears to my eyes.

I think that Horace and Clara Bell were on some of the older Disney cartoons. It seems like I saw Clara Bell on some cartoon on the Disney Channel not too long ago. It may have been Mickey's Clubhouse or something. I was flipping channels and didn't pay too much attention.

hmmm looks like I will have to do a google search for it!

Animation

Clarabelle first appeared as a farm cow in the cartoon Plane Crazy in 1928.[5]. She appeared frequently from 1930 to 1932 and less frequently afterward, making her final classic-era bow in Symphony Hour (1942)[6]. As with most Disney characters, she was given small cameos in the featurettes Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983) and The Prince and the Pauper (1990), and the 1988 feature Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Clarabelle mostly played bit-part characters in the approximately 30 cartoon shorts in which she appeared, and her character was never as fully developed as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck or Pluto. She and Horace Horsecollar had an uncanny ability to change from somewhat normal farmyard animals into anthropomorphized beings as necessary. Apparently Clarabelle was given a skirt originally to give a modicum of modesty to the rubbery bovine, serving to hide her enormous appendage.

In modern animation, Clarabelle has returned to active use, appearing first in a few segments of Mickey Mouse Works and in a brief scene in Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas. In Disney's House of Mouse she regularly turned up as a gossip columnist, with the tagline "Gossip is Always True". Recently, Clarabelle has also made appearances in the preschool series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (in which she owns a puppy named Bella) and in the direct-to-video movie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers as Pete's lieutenant and Goofy's love interest. Clarabelle also makes a cameo in Kingdom Hearts II in the Timeless River world as one of its citizens. Clarabelle is a playable character in Disney TH!NK Fast.

Disney theme parks

From September 2006 to September 2008, Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar appeared together for meet-and-greets in Town Square at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Also, they were in the Main Street Family Fun Day Parade. Since Family Fun Day's ending, the two haven't been easy to see outside "Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade", "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade" and the occasional special event.

Clarabelle also appears (without Horace) at Disneyland Park. She has also appeared in several Disneyland parades and shows over the years, including The World According to Goofy, Light Magic, the Parade of the Stars, Fantasmic, A Christmas Fantasy Parade and Celebrate! A Street Party. Clarabelle and Horace come out for meet-and-greets and appear in parades and shows on a regular basis at Tokyo Disneyland as well. In 2009, Clarabelle played a leading character in the New Year's Greeting at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

I didn't realize how lucky I was to see them until I read they are no longer there for meet & greets!

Now, before we left for Disney/Tampa, the temps at home were in the 30's & 40's so we had all packed up winter Disney clothes. Little did we know that it would be in the 70's! So we headed to the Emporium to buy t shirts because we were all sweating in long sleeves & sweatshirts! Thankfully, they let us make our purchases & change in the dressing room. So once that was done we headed our way to Toontown! We are going to Mickey's house. I had no idea about the Judge's Tent & who we would meet in there! My MIL left that as a surprise for me! So off we go & the very first thing I see is:
jonisdisney099.jpg

Donald's Boat! Yay! Then I see:
jonisdisney100.jpg

I thought that was the cutest mailbox that I had ever seen! And inside we go! Enjoy!
jonisdisney101.jpg

jonisdisney102.jpg

jonisdisney103.jpg

And how adorable is this!
jonisdisney104.jpg

And of course my cheeseball boys had to get in a pic!

jonisdisney109.jpg

And now we make our way outside to the Judge's Tent. And I remember thinking, "Big Deal, a judge's tent." Little did I know!

Inside the Judge's Tent:

And then the biggest surprise..........MICKEY!!!!! I swear my jaw dropped & my MIL just laughed. She had told me all about Disney, but left this out on purpose, she wanted me to have my own Disney magic & surprises. Up first to see Mickey was Brady.
jonisdisney117.jpg

Then Koby got in the pic:
jonisdisney118.jpg

Our first family pic with Mickey!
jonisdisney119.jpg

We walked out of there & I was beaming! I had just met Mickey Mouse! He is real! I said I could die happy & my MIL just laughed & said "You have no idea of the things to come." Boy was she right.

Coming up, the rest of our first day at Magic Kingdom, hopefully (depends on pics)!

Aww, that was nice of your MIL to let you be surprised by meeting Mickey! :goodvibes The pictures of the boys with Mickey are so cute, they look so little! :rotfl:

AWWW I love the big surprise!! That is so awesome! :goodvibes I remember the first time I met Mickey...my smile was about a big as yours is in that pic!

It's so nice to hear that the weather in December was in the 70s! I can't wait! How were the crowds when you were there?

It was so great to finally meet the mouse!

The crowds really were not that bad, but this was the 30th, so the big Christmas crowds were gone & the New Year's Eve crowds weren't there either. When we went back on the 1st, the weather was NOT pretty (more to come on that & Brady's blue lips & you will be able to see the sky in the pics) so the crowds that day wasn't bad at all either.

After it was proven to me that Mickey was real, we headed to Minnie's house. After looking at the pics, Minnie didn't decorate for Christmas, so I will skip over that part. All the pics are basically the same as my TR. Then it was time for Brady to ride the Carousel, so we headed over to Fantasyland.
100_0776.jpg

While Brady rode that, Koby & I rode Dumbo. Brady had been saying that he was going to ride, but chickened out at the last minute because he saw how high it went & freaked out. So here is Koby & I:
100_0779.jpg

jonisdisney002.jpg

After we were all done it was time to ride it's a small world. (I keep it lowercase because everything else has it lowercase). Our family pic would have been great, if Koby would have cooperated!
100_0780.jpg

Can you tell Brady loved this ride?
100_0782.jpg

jonisdisney007.jpg

Koby, could have caredless........
100_0783.jpg

And what does my wonderful 4 year old do when he sees this?
jonisdisney037.jpg

Yells out as loudly as he possibly can, "HEY MAMA LOOK IT'S THE SAINTS!!!!!" Yes, that is my Who Dat child!

Now I must backtrack, somehow before we headed to see Mickey & bought shirts, we did Splash Mountain. My MIL got fastpasses. She got one for everyone, just in case. Brady was determined to ride it. We showed him the drop & said "are you SURE?" He was crying & by all means had to ride it. Here he is before getting on the boat:
jonisdisney017.jpg

After the very first drop Brady said that he wanted to get off. I told him that it was impossible & that he would have to ride it out. That 50 ft drop did him him in. I warned him ahead of time, wrapped my arms around him, told him that Disney would not make a ride that would harm him & that he would be ok. I WISH that we would have gotten the pic. His face was PRICELESS. He got off crying hysterically saying "I am never EVER riding that ride again in my LIFE!" So now you know why him doing it & the rest of the roller coasters was a huge deal for him this past trip. My baby grew up!

Now back to Fantasyland....
They wanted to ride the teacups. They being me, Koby, Ben, & Sierra. Brady wanted to do it ONLY if it didn't spin. So I said fine, ride with me. I am not a big fan of spinning rides. So Ben, Koby & Sierra rode in one & Brady & I rode in the other. Ben said he was super dizzy. I had to fight the wheel not to turn at all! Here is Ben, Koby & Sierra:
jonisdisney133.jpg

Me & Brady:

jonisdisney134.jpg

Then we head to ride The Magic Carpets. Here is Ben & Koby:

Next is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

jonisdisney138.jpg

We made him take off his glasses for all rides.
My MIL rented a double stroller & guess what, it fits 3 kids!
jonisdisney098.jpg

Now sometime along the day, we rode the monorail. Not sure when, but we did. We were able to catch it at the Contemporary & ride it to MK & back again. Must have been on the ride to MK, we were able to sit in the front with the conductor. Only me, Koby, Brady & Sierra rode in the front.
The view from the front:

Me & Brady:

Me & my boys:

I am sure we did more, memory & pics fail me. I know this is so out of order & I apologize! On the way back to the car we saw this & I said, "I wish we would have parked there." Ben said, "It would have fit you perfectly."

Great update! :thumbsup2 The boys were so little! I barely recognize Koby! They were just as cute then as they are now, though! :lovestruc

I'm so proud of Brady for conquering his fears this trip and riding all the scary rides!

There's only one thing missing from this trip....it has beautiful blue eyes and rhymes with Melby...;)
