So I'm super excited we're going to Disney World In May 2013!!!! Though it's not the trip I had been planning in my head for the past year but at least we're going:)

So I have been to Disney World 3 times as a child and teenager. Each time we stayed at a moderate or deluxe Disney resort, used Disney transportation to the parks, ADR's for all or most meals and spent every day in the parks or waterparks. I have wonderful memories and all of these things made those memories. So naturally I want to take my children and husband and make new memories with them.

Problem 1. DH went to Disney World once with his family at age 18 and hated it:(. However I know they did no TS meals in the parks, they went in July (did I mention DH hates standing in line in the heat). They also stayed in a house with about 8 other family members.

Problem 2. DH does not like the idea of ADR's and having to be at a certain place at a certain time. Also doesn't want to spend $150 on a meal because it's Disney and not because it's excellent food (he's a chef so I get it). But for me it's not about the food it's the atmosphere.

Problem 3. DH's idea of a vacation is relaxing, not spending all day walking:(

Problem 4. DH doesn't want to use Disney transportation, he wants to rent a car incase there's other places we want to go( umm we're at Disney why would we want to go anywhere else?) lol

So even after all these lovely issues my husband brought up, he knows how much I want to take the kids and agreed. But he said we weren't going until we had a certain amount of $$$$ because he doesn't want to stress about money once we are there.Ok

So I think he was thinking 2014 but I was thinking October 2013 . Great weather and lines, free dining (hopefully), and MNSSHP. 7 nights 8 days at Pop, 6 day park hoppers with waterparks option.

And then two weeks ago my mom calls and says she can probably get a week in a timeshare in May 2013 and free airfare using her points. She also has 2 day park tickets for the four of us and 2 day tickets to IOA that she got from listening to timeshares. She will be going to the beach in Florida that week.

I was and am so greatful and excited, she is so generous. But it kind of throws all my planning out of the window. And now that Disney is definitely happening I told DH he needs to actually discuss and plan with me( something he refused to do before). So as I discuss restaurants and ADR's he finds things to do outside of Disney......zip lining, fishing, Miami?!?, Old Town, Tampa. In my head I'm thinking when are we going to have time to do all this stuff especially now that we have tickets to IOA ( which I don't really need)

So next my mom got the timeshare we wanted Marriott Cypress Harbour from Sunday April 28- Sunday May 5th!!!!! But an hour later she calls to say that she only has airfare points to get a departing flight on a Monday and a returning flight on a Tuesday ugh. So now we are going April 29- May 7th and must get a hotel for the extra 2 nights.

So after all the frustration I realized this trip is not going to go my way but hey at least I'm going and spending a week with my family! I've made some compromises and my husbands comprise is he's going lol. Although in his defense he did see how stressed I was getting and told me we should just wait until October and do the trip the way I would be happy;) But I'm too impatient to wait!

So my new plan is to spend 3 or 4 days in the parks. I think we need 1 Epcot, 1 HS, 2 MK minimum. DH thinks we can do MK in 1 day. So we will wait until after our first day in MK to decide if we need the extra day. I am planning one character meal 1900 Park Fare because my DD8 and DD9 like the stepsisters, and maybe Sci-Fi. The rest will be CS.

We are not sure if we want to use the IOA tickets yet so that could change these next plans:

DH wants to do a fishing trip while me and DD's spend the day at the pool or beach. We were also thinking for the Sunday we leave the Marriott going to Cayo Costa, a secluded island accessible only by boat. We would spend the day on the beach/fishing( we all really enjoy fishing) and then camp there at night in a cabin( no electricity yikes but we've wanted to go camping and have never been)The next day spend on the beach until noon and take the ferry back and visit Sanibel Island and spend a few hours looking for shells which me and the girls love to do.

Then we just need a place to stay for our last night flight leaves at 1:30 pm so can't do much on last day.

Overall I'm feeling our new plans are starting to fit our family more and more. It's a good mix of parks and relaxing. I'm learning that my way is not always the best way haha!! And as long as its time with my family I'm okay with that:)

So thanks for listening to this ridiculously long vent, if you made it through lol.
