I am thinking about an Adult all inclusive beach vacation. Has anyone been on one? Would you recommend it? Location is still open.
Suggestions????

Go! It will be fabulous! Haven't done AI but we do cruise and love it!

Lots of friends have gone and mostly to cancan or Jamaica...sandals or palace resorts.

My last vaca was first time cruise. I LOVED it!!!! Disney isn't going anywhere and sometimes a relaxing all inclusive is just what the doctor ordered. Do it!!:thumbsup2

I would never limit myself and my family to just Disney so of course I would do it. Disney is great, but IMO an all inclusive resort on a tropical beach is better.

We did for our honeymoon and LOVED it! We stayed at Sandles in St. Lucia and highly recommend it.

Loved the AI when we went (twice). Stayed at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen. It was so relaxing and I love the fact that all your food and drinks are alreay paid for.

OMG! Yes! Book now, do not think twice about it!

Riviera Maya Mexico

Several very good Adult only All Inclusives; my personal favorite is Valentin Imperial Maya. Secrets has three excellent ones in the area as well. FWIW I as a general rule I tend to not like Sandals resorts.

ETA: The Royal that Jodiey mentioned is excellent as well & right in Playa del Carmen!

Absolutely do it. We have gone to Sandals Antigua as a couple and loved it. However, we recently did Grand Cayman as a family and it was even better. Grand Cayman has too many fantastic restaurants to bother with an AI and I have heard the same thing about Aruba.

Disney has become a happy memory for all of our family except for our 8 year old who can't wait to go back. We will be taking her in February (more than likely our 11th and last trip to Disney). Once we got travel fever, Disney didn't seem as exciting anymore. It's sad in a way!

So my vote is go!

We like the Iberostar resorts. We've stayed in several and have never been disappointed.

We alternate between Disney & all inclusives. We have stayed at Sandals (Regency St.Lucia), Dreams (Palm beach, Punta Cana, & la Romana (all Dominican Republic), & Iberostars (Puerto plata in Domincan) among others. They all have a lot to offer. Sandals can be pretty luxurious depending on the room category you stay in. Dreams is wonderful for families also. We have a lot of fun and love having everything taken care of before we get there.

My husband and I have stayed at Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios twice and it was fabulous. You can't beat the service and the price wasn't bad. It was smaller, so the staff really got to know you and would look for you and remember what you liked.

I started thinking about this too and would love to go to St. Lucia Sandals. We went to Aruba last year, stayed in timeshare and just got back from Hawaii so definately want to do AI now!

Another vote for an all inclusive. St. Lucia was great. I would recommend the following. Stay at the Grande. Do the zipline tour. Don't go to the fish fry. Take the helicopter.

That is all.

I get emails from All Inclusive Outlet, I usually delete them but will start paying more attention now. Anyone book through them before?

St. Lucia is absolutely beautiful. My husband hates to travel but he's even said he'd like to go back!

I've been on both cruises and to land-based all-inclusive resorts, and I love both of them. I think that basically an AI includes drinks (both soda and alcohol) while a cruise doesn't, where the cruise has much better entertainment than the AI's. So choose what's most important to you on this vacation.

For cruises, I think Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Norwegian are all great. The newer Carnival ships are fine, and Celebrity is fine but skews towards an older crowd, so fewer lively options.

We really like the Palace Resorts for land-based AI's. Cozumel Palace doesn't have much of a beach, but you can snorkel right off the back of the hotel, and the service is amazing.
