Not Disney - any other plans?

We're going to Sunparks in Belgium for Feb half-term (booked and paid), and supposedly to Vancouver in August. I've done all the research, just need to go ahead and book. Anyone know anything about Zoom airlines? Much cheaper but DH is a bit nervous about standards/reliablility of non-big airline (in other words he wants BA or Air Canada)

Zoom are o.k, a standard charter, they've been around for a little while and I haven't heard anything particularly bad or good about them. Have booked probably only about 30 heads though, mainly for skiing trips.

Off to San Fransisco at Easter for a couple of nights, then driving to Lake Tahoe for two weeks of snow and ski :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: with our friends.

Just looked at my countdown for the first time in weeks and weeks and it's looking much better :cool1:

Christmas is now being looked into - I so enjoyed getting away Xmas before last (skiing in Italy) - especially so after spending a couple of days away at the outlaws this year (18 in a small house, including our new puppy :dog2: ).

We'd had the Maldives booked before the skiing trip for last Xmas (something made me change to skiing with friends, thank goodness, given the Tsunami), so may be we'll look back into that.

We've decided that we've had enough trips to Florida for the next few years, 7 trips in the last 6 years is enough for us, although with our friends constantly offering us their beautiful house we stayed in last year down in Ft Myers beach again, it is a temptation; perhaps something to consider just for a week at half-term or something. But as DH "discovered" coasters this year, a trip from Ft Myers to Busch Gardens might happen ;)

There are SO many other places in the world - and America - that we would all love to visit.

I have already earmarked Egypt for my 25th wedding anniversary (oh dear, that's another 10 year wait!).

We loved our stay on St Lucia a couple of years ago, so would like to visit another Caribbean island, or St Lucia again.

Just need to earn some more money for all these trips me thinks ::yes::

Next year we should be off to Hong Kong again. My brother was one of the architects for Disneyland Hong Kong, so we have an open invitation there to see his handywork :cool1: They moved back to the UK two years ago, but still have property in the Philippines, so from Hong Kong to the Philippines again is a really nice break. The beaches are amazing in the Philippines.

We're off to New York for a week at Easter. Am currently working on DH to book another. We can't really afford WDW for Summer but can't summon up any enthusiasm for anywhere else so we may just leave it and book for Christmas/New Year again instead :flower:

I finally get to see New York this April, as well as Philadelphia and Washington D.C.! (I'm so looking forward to this I think I might burst! )

I'm also going to Europa Park in Germany this July, and trying to plan a graduation trip to Eastern Europe at the moment. :)

:hyper: Snap here for a Europa Park visit. We're going in August - flying into Zurich and also spending a week in the Black Forest.

Let us know what Europa Park is like?

Also going skiing in Andorra in Feb half term.

No WDW for us although I'm reaching the extremely young "40" in 2007 so hoping to go back then!!!

we are ow booked to go to rhodes for a week in july and have two weeks in florida booked for august

Were hopefully going to Cornwall for a week...But im guessing thats not an option for you :teeth:

Your extremely lucky to be able to afford all these holidays, have fun wherever you decide to go.

its our last year of being able to go away at all for a while, at least till we get the house we want (still live with parents) and we want to get married in 2010 at disney hopefully. so we are having a blow out lol

We've booked a cottage in North Devon for a week in August :)

Bit different from Christmas in WDW, but I'm sure we will still have a great time (weather permitting) :)

We are spending a few days in Nice at the end of August (which seems horribly ages away). We have been really lucky the last few years with our trips every few months, but we are having a month off for our wedding in November, and so we are short of leave : (

Mandy - Re Portugal (sorry it wouldn't work when I tried to quote you!)

We have been to Portugal (the Algarve) loads of times, and really like the west end of the Algarve because it's a lot quieter, more relaxed and more Portuguese. There are loads of little resorts west of Lagos - Luz and Burgau are beautiful. There are lots of little local restaurants, and the beaches are lovely - there are also loads of really beautiful beaches further down the coast, such as Martinhal, that are within easy driving distance, and the west coast is also well worth visiting.

We have tended to book private villas - it's much better value than staying in one of the big golf complexes, and you get a lot more of the relaxed ' local' feel. We have rented through http://www.atbalgarveholidays.com/ in the past, and I also have details of another rental place based in Burgau in work, so I'll let you have more details later, just in case you would be interested.

Hubby wants to try a relaxing holiday in Portugal during the Summer, I've never been and I don't know anything about, so if anyone can recommend somewhere, please let me know :)

Worked this time.....

The other rental people we have used are http://www.algarve-apartments.net/ - they are a couple based in Burgau, and are really friendly. If you don't want to to drive, they will even pick you up from the airport. They have a nice selection of properties too.

Some friends of ours have a beutiful villa in Quinta Do Lago in the Eastern area of the Algarve, just half an hour from Faro airport.

It is a truly beautiful area with wonderful pine forests, championship golf courses and a sensational white sand beach and nature reserve. I highly recommend this area for a relaxing and rejuvinating break :)

we are off to turkey in july, all inclusive for a chill out two weeks, i always think it will be boring after WDW but after day two of doing nothing I soon get the hang of it!
November its DLRP to use up those annual passes! and hopefully a few weekends around the uk too, I really want to go to alton towers as DH and kids have not bee, want to stay in the hotel with the water park but its a bit pricey :scared1: so maybe it might end up being the nearest travelodge.

I have the big 40 :crazy2: in nov 2007 and we are planning on new york then orlando
