Not All Treasure Is Silver And Gold, Mate - *Update 9-17* P60

Hi TK! Hope you're feeling well.
Just caught up on on the name talk. A parent of one of my students is going through the same thing. My student's name is Siobhan and her sister's name is Fiona. Mom is Irish and dad is Morroccan. So, each child has an Irish first name and a Morroccan middle name. Mom is due mid-July and they've been having family meetings trying to come up with a name. My student keeps me posted.

Hi, hon! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who tries to keep the cultural traditions alive. I'd love to hear what they come up with, if you're willing to share. :goodvibes

Is your son excited about starting kindergarten?

He is super excited! He keeps asking about it, he's all registered and everything, so we're good to go. The next big thing will be whether or not he gets mornings or afternoons.

Typically, the apartment complex we live in goes for afternoon kindergarten, but it's also based on enrollment. I should know at the very latest, by the beginning of July. Since I'll be out on maternity leave for the beginning of the school year, it's not such a big issue, but afterwards it will be a question of how I can work and handle care for both kids. We're very up in the air right now.

I'm still here! :) I'm sorry to hear that you're in so much pain and dealing with Braxton Hicks right now. I hope it gets better for you soon!

Oh I so hear you about having to take a break from the ol'TR when your peggers...had to do it myself last year. I think you will find that writing the whole thing at once then posting works a whole lot quicker.

And here's hoping that your BHs magically stop because pain is just not fun!

Thank you so much! I'm hoping I can figure something out soon! :lmao:

Tink brought that up the other day, and I remembered you had done it that way, and it just seems like a better idea for me. Write the whole thing at once, and then post the installments.

Thanks!

So sorry to hear that your a bit under the weather. Get lots of rest and take it easy. :)

Thank you, hon. I'm trying to relax, but I also want to get stuff done. It's tough to remember how to do nothing. I've been on bed rest before (with my DS) so I know what that is, but until they tell me to do it, it's hard to just think, do nothing, do nothing. :lmao:

All's good, TK. We're still with you, and you don't need to feel badly at ALL for taking a break! First things first, right?

I had a lot of "Braxton Hicks" too, and every time, save the last, they were born early. Keep a good eye on things, and if you feel you need to be seen, PLEASE DO!!!! Braxtons can turn into the real deal pretty quickly. Not to scare you, but I think a May trip really would be pushing it.

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip, TK; when you're ready.

Still here and subscribed, of course!! Hopefully your appt. tomorrow will bring some relief, in some way. And we'll be here when you can get back to writing!:wizard:

You know I am still here, TK! Hope the belly band works some magic, and those rotten BH stop bothering you!

Thank you! I overdid it a bit yesterday, and having that belly band to put on afterwards really did help.

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure if I mentioned it, but I did leave work early on Friday because they were so painful, and I wasn't even moving around, just sitting at my teller station.

TMI warning - I did have an internal exam, and everything is all closed up like it should be. :lmao:

But I know what you're saying about how it can easily turn into real labor. The thing is, these feel distinctly different from my labor last time, so I guess that's a good thing.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to having a more in depth conversation with my doctor. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your support! :goodvibes

Everyone has been so wonderful! I'll admit, I worry about coming off negative or like I'm whining, especially because certain people in my work situation are less than supportive, but what a wonderful boost for me to have my DIS friends understanding and empathizing.

Thanks!

Hmm, I thought I posted here yesterday, but I guess I didn't :confused3 I totally understand your issues with prego brain ;)

Anyway, just wanted to say take your time with posting whenever you can. Taking care of yourself and your family always comes first! :goodvibes

Some of the girls on the Moms to Be thread were looking for you too - it looks like we have lots of little pirate:pirate: due this summer!

Ha! I also call it mommy brain, because it seems to last beyond the pregnancy. :lmao:

Gosh, I haven't checked in there in so long! I should get over there. :thumbsup2

I'm about 1/3 of the way through writing the trip report, folks. I'm hoping to be able to start posting soon. :thumbsup2

I'm still here too, hon. :) Just take care of yourself and don't worry about us. You & that baby have to come first!! I hope things get easier for you.

Thank you! I actually have some good news on that front. My doctor has recommended reducing my work schedule further, so I'll be doing 20 hours a week instead of 25. It may not sound like a lot, but the huge bonus to that is I won't be doing 9 hour Fridays anymore, which is awesome. :thumbsup2

Hey, guys. I've hesitated posting this because of how private we are, but I'm not going to be around as much. My mom is currently in the cardiac ICU of our local hospital. I don't want to go into great detail about what happened, because she's very private as well, but they're hoping to bring her out of sedation today to see how she responds. Please keep us in your thoughts.
