There was a girl in our office yesterday from Minneapolis MN who flew in on Northwest Friday. She said it was the first time her flight was ever on time and the substitute people were much more friendly than the regular ones ever were. So..............her feel on the whole thing is that it's better than before the strike!!!!
Okay, silly office girl. Unless she was talking to the MECHANIC...she was NOT talking to any replacement (substitute). Yikes!!
All of the ticket agents, security personnel, gate agents, pilots and flight attendants are the same old ones for years years and years.
And yes, they are very nice.
As far as your flights, this is why NWA filed chapter 11 now. As of Oct. 17, the chapter 11 laws change and companies that file after that date cannot operate for years such as a couple of the "legacy" air carriers are doing right now.
NWA, will continue to run indefinately. This is their way to restructure the airline. They are hoping with out thier union contracts and without pension obilgations they will return to profitabillity. Harsh reality.
Most likely, your flights will be fine. Check your reservations periodically, and use the on-line notification in case your flight or flight number has been changed. All of your frequent flier miles will remain in tact.
Relax!! It's not your life that has been turned upside down!
