Kinda quiet here. What's everyone doing for NYE?

We'll be staying home for NYE. We'll have a few friends over, but that's about it.

Hi all ... My mom is down for the week, so we will be sipping on the Champagnade (bubbly grape juice) and watching the ball drop with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I got luggage scales from my daughter, which will come in very handy on packing day for the cruise!

The three of us (DH, DS15 and myself) are driving up to MIL's house in Birmingham (approx 120 miles away) for an exciting NYE with her and, wait for it, my super-annoying SIL!!! Talk about party central... My clever big kids (DD26 and DS23) have other plans - lucky things!!! Oh well, it's only for a short 24 hours so I should survive...

The three of us (DH, DS15 and myself) are driving up to MIL's house in Birmingham (approx 120 miles away) for an exciting NYE with her and, wait for it, my super-annoying SIL!!! Talk about party central... My clever big kids (DD26 and DS23) have other plans - lucky things!!! Oh well, it's only for a short 24 hours so I should survive...

I have an annoying sister instead. But since she lives clear across the country, I guess I can manage for a week every year. This Christmas she emptied an entire glass of Asti on my freshly clean carpet without an apology. Then her lovely husband fell asleep on our new sectional with a beer on his belly and (you guessed it) dumped the entire thing on the couch and carpet. No apology. Her 3 year old son chewed up apples and spit them all over my diningroom table. I guess I'll stop there. But the things I mentioned happen in a 4 hour period, so you can imagine how the week went! You'd think my family was raised in a cave!

Oh well, tonight is a special night. Steve's brothers and sister along with their spouses are coming to our house for dinner and a New Year celebration. We do this every year. Thank goodness for his family! This is one of my favorite nights of the year. Great people, good wine, and a lovely prime rib in the oven! To everyone:

True it is. Bama doesn't play till Friday night and so far there hasn't really been any other games I've wanted to see. I might try to watch the Rose Bowl, although I'm beginning to think they need to rename it the USC Bowl since they seem to play in it every year. I've also been checking the scores of the games on my ipod touch with my college football app, up to the minute scores on all the bowl games, can't beat that.

The first SEC game isn't until sometime today right? Vandy I believe.

Check the Premier Inn. That's where we are thinking of staying. Someone on here recommended it.

Are you still thinking of going on this cruise or are you switching?
