Hi there!

Just thought I'd add our names to the list! We've just booked the cruise. It will be our second Disney Cruise as we went on the Med Cruise in June 2007. We couldn't miss this one as it departs from Dover which is just down the road from us!

Our party consists of myself, husband Dave and little boy Jack who will be 3 1/2 when we travel with the possibility of another little one in the mean time :)

Katherine

:welcome: Aboard!

Wow! So many different ways of deciding. We mainly picked this cruise because of the date and the fact that we wanted to go on the Barcelona to Dover right before the Baltic cruise. I think we would have been happy with either port.:upsidedow

By the way, what made everyone pick Finland over Estonia? :confused3

The date really. I was thinking it would be further away from the school holidays and less chance of people taking the kids out of school anyway!!!
:lmao: Sorry to parents here. I love to see the children on the cruise - just not for it to be full of them if you know what I mean.

I read somewhere that Tallin is just beautiful, so really I am a bit disappointed not stopping there.

1st one! And hopefully a few less kids!

I got to meet Virgil Thursday night - very nice guy. He would have been nicer if he would have let us win! Oh well only 4 more losses and the season is over......wonder if we will have a new coach next year?

Sorry about that.... I definitely enjoyed meeting Gydell too. WVU finally showed up for a game...

We picked this cruise as it's the first.... The difference in ports was not an issue....

We picked it because it is the Maiden Voyage to these ports.

We were on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic in 1998, of the Wonder in 1999, and most of all the other Maiden Voyages of the two ships doing their special cruises (Western, Mexico, Med., etc.).

We also did the 10th Anniversary cruise this past summer on the Magic.

I wanted to make sure we did Finland. Not many cruise lines hit Finland, Norway, and Sweden in the same trip. AND the Little Mermaid Statues are in Finland, and I suspect they will do at least one awesome excursion to go along with them! DD loves Little Mermaid, so it will be perfect!!

DO many of you get out of school that late? We are going on this cruise and I don't need to take DD out of school to make it for this one? Just wondering?

Hello everyone! I actually booked this cruise back on the day they were released but just now getting around to finding this thread. It will be myself, my DH Dennis, and our DS Christopher who will be 14 at the time of sailing. But don't tell them that I booked because I am keeping it a secret for now. I have been dropping hints to my husband how much we would enjoy this cruise, but the cost is rather high not including airfare from here in Indy to either Paris or London. After all, if we are going to the expense to go to Europe why not see as much as we can while we are there (it is cheaper than going back, at least for a while!). This sounds like a pretty crazy group of people, so we will fit right in! We are disney cruise addicts, having started 3 years ago and taking number 6 in December. I can't wait to see the world disney style!

We're having a good season. With it 56 to 14 in the 3rd qt. it looks like we will be 8-0 after today. That may all change with Texas here next week.

Go Raiders.

This will be our fourth Disney Cruise. We were on the Med Cruise in 2007 & had a GREAT time! We too set the date to watch the video of the announcement of the new itineraries. We had planned on going to Alaska in 2009 but when we saw all the ports Disney was going to we put aside Alaska until hopefully the new ships. We also made our reservations on the first day.

To answer a previous question we picked Finland cause my cousin spent a year in Finland & enjoyed it so here we are! It will be fun seeing the city with the little mermaid statues. And Russia WOW!

There will be 6 of us going. Myself, DB, His wife, My niece (who will be 10 by the time of the cruise) & my 2 nephews who will be 24 & 27.

Is it too early to start packing? :woohoo:

The Little Mermaid statue is in Copenhagen, not Helsinki. (There are mermaid statues in Helsinki but the official Hans Christian Andersen one is in Copenhagen. The Helsinki mermaid is called Havis Amanda.) All the Disney Baltic cruises are going to Copenhagen. And there is something going around that she may be on loan to China during our trip dates and we'll be seeing a replica. I thought they ought to have Mulan stand in.

Sorry I will go back to my own cruise now (my friend wanted your cruise because of the school still in session factor but my work schedule doesn't work with these dates, so I couldn't have added time in Paris/London beforehand. So we're on the 6/24 and don't mess up the ship too much before we get there.)

Are you the ER Doctor from Pgh? If so we're the family from Titusville (home of all that oil). My DB is a Family Practitioner in Titusville. I think we were on the Disney Mediterranean Cruise with you. We were the family that like you had all the problems with airports on the day of departure for Barcelona, but we NEVER made it to Barcelona we met the ship in Palermo! This trip we are leaving a day early! :thumbsup2

Oh, you and Steve ought to get along famously. He said pretty much the same thing you have above. But to be honest, I wasn't paying too much attention. I know that he said something about one battle being in WWI not WWII. Then I started reading another thread. Glad he has another war buff on the ship that he can gab with. I do enjoy some of the movies he watches like the Longest Day, a Bridge Too Far, etc. But I am not really that interested in every aspect of WWII like he is. Years ago, when we lived in Germany we drove all over the place looking for war museums, cemeteries, battle fields, etc. As a matter of fact, he dragged our two young DD's and me on a 5 day trip of Operation Market Garden. It was neat going all the way up into Holland. But all we did was visit WWII sites.

Wow! I sure made Steve sound like a nerd.......Did I mention he is a computer geek too? I guess I haven't got much room to talk. I used to be a high school math teacher. ;)

Lol.....should recommend he watch an excellent WW2 movie....."The Cruel Sea"......to my own mind, one of the most realistic Naval movies ever...

It would be a pleasure meeting Steve.....as I suspect we have a lot in common
