You were on that cruise?! That was the best cruise!! The horn battle was so much fun!

Scott & Lynn - Have a great trip! Send photos :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Deb

We where on the May 2005 cruise that played the same game. Not the cruise shown on the video.

We had a horn battle with a RCCL ship in St. Thomas. They really didn't know how to react after it sounded "When You Wish Upon a Star.":rotfl:

We've met many of you on previous cruises and are looking forward to this cruise. (We won't B2B from Barcelona.)

Good Morning Cruisers!

Tonight we are headed out to Denver, to fly to WDW tomorrow - so, I will not be on the boards for a week - Scott does take a computer, so you may see him post, but I do not get time to get on the computer, he does because he never sleeps:rotfl: .

Have a good week everyone!

Have a fabulous trip! I'm jealous, I still have to wait 6 months for our next trip!

I wonder how many times our plans are going to change in the next 18 months. Last night Steve asked if we could spend the time after the cruise in Normandy France, instead of London. I agreed with two concessions. First he had to agree to doing a UK trip in the next few years. We are hoping that ABD will expand to a tour of UK, including Scotland. Second he has to extend the stay from 3 nights to 4 nights and take me to Le Mont Saint Michel on my birthday (28th). I think we are going to have to rent a car for this one. Now to find a decent hotel in the Normandy area.

Yes I think plans will change, many variables, where to fly to and from, train or plane, or car????? Normandy would be great, London great Paris, oh the choices,

Don't know if I will be retired by ten or not, ya just never know, we have several races and other trips before then.

But the planning is fun.

Had this sent to me and thought you might like it.

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and
3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play
two sports
and either take music
or dance classes. They will also attend cubs, brownies, sea cadets or similar.

There is no fast food.

Each man must:
take care of his 3 children,
keep his assigned house clean,
correct all homework,
and complete science projects,
also, cook, do laundry,
and pay a list of 'pretend' bills
with not enough money.

In addition, each man
will have to budget in money
for groceries each week.

Each man
must remember the birthdays
of all their friends andrelatives,
and send cards out
on time--no emailing.

Each man must also
take each child to a doctor's appointment,
a dentist appointment
and a haircut appointment.

He must make
one unscheduled andinconvenient
visit per child
to A & E

He must also
make gingerbread men or choc chip cakes
for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for
decorating his own assigned house,
planting flowers outside
and keeping it presentable
at all times.

The men will only
have access to television
when the kids are asleep
and all chores are done.

The men must
shave their legs,
wear makeup daily,
adorn themselves with jewellery,
wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes,
keep fingernails polished
and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks,
the men will have to endure severe abdominal pain, persistent lower back aches,
and have extreme, unexplained mood swings, but never once complain or
slow down from other duties.

They must attend
weekly school meetings, concerts & plays, church, and find time
at least once a week, to spend the afternoon
in the park or a similar setting.

They will need to
read a book to the kids
each night and in the morning,
feed them, dress them,
brush their teeth and
comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information:
each child's birthday,
height, weight,
shoe size, clothes size, teachers name, best friends name and doctor's name.
Also the child's weight at birth,
time of birth,
and length of labour,
each child's favourite colour,
middle name,
favourite snack,
favourite song,
favourite drink,
favourite toy,
biggest fear and
what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island
based on performance.
The last man wins only if...
he still has enough energy
to be intimate with his spouse
at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win,
he can play the game over and over
and over again for the next 18-25 years
eventually earning the right
To be called Mother!

Send this to as many females as you
think will get a kick out of it and
as many men as you think can
handle it.

Just don't send it back to me.............. I'm going to bed.

I have no idea how many times our plans will change. The only thing set in stone of course is the cruise. There's so many options like Scott said. How do you decide? Of course, planning is half the fun.

Marylin, and peoplewonder why we did not have kids, LOL

Yikes! We are on page 2. I guess our steam is giving out. I'm sure it will be hard to keep it up for a year and a half. And I do still have a trip for May to plan. But since it is a week at WDW and a 4-Night cruise, there really isn't too much planning involved. I do need to make ADR's in 9 days.

Off topic question: Has anyone been to the Polynesian Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show in the last couple years? If so, what were your thoughts. We haven't been to the "Luau" since 1996. My DD is thinking of taking her family of 4 one night on our trip in May. I love the idea because it will give Steve, my other DD, and me an adult night out. If you have another suggestion for my DD's family, that would be great too.

I personally haven't been to it since they changed it to the Spirit of Aloha, but my parents have. They thought it was really corny and the previous luau was much better so none of us have been back since. Sorry, not much help, I know.:confused3

Oh, I forgot to tell everyone that Extreme Makeover Home Edition is only 9 blocks from my house! It is for such a great family. They have been foster parents to over 200 children and adopted a little boy whose now 8. He is an Easter Seals poster child and has dwarfish and brittle bone disease. They are the nicest family. Ty and the gang are making the home more friendly for the little boy and all the children that pass through that loving home. I can't wait to go over there in the morning to see where they are so far. I wish I could volunteer. But they already have too many volunteers and food. Only thing they are still looking for is the money to pay off the mortgage. But I have no fear in that area. The town I live in really can rally with things like this. So we'll raise it.

Oh, here is the website from our local TV station, if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.hoinews.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=209972

That is excellent and they seem so worthy of the makeover.

How funny though. I have a friend on our PC Repo thread who had the team just a couple of blocks from her house a few weeks ago. That was in Lansing. Now it is done the windows are all blacked out etc so nobody will see anything until the reveal.

That's weird since they normally do the Move the Bus scene one week after the family leaves. Or do they have the family keep the windows black so that no one else sees the inside until the tv show? That would be a long time. The show in our hometown won't be shown until December or January. It was cool seeing Ty do his camera trick day before yesterday. Where he tapes for the family what is going on and videos himself talking to the family. I can't wait to walk over tomorrow to see what has changed in 3 days. I posted the website above in my last post if anyone wants to check it out. I am so excited!

Now that sounds like what ewe are discussing....of course being Canadian....a trip to Dieppe & Vimy is in there too

Last night I realized that we are going to be in St. Petersburg for the White Nights. I am so excited about the prospect of getting to see this.

I had a dream last night that my DD and I were in a foreign airport and we got separated somehow and I was intensely afraid. I guess I am already stressing over the thought of flying with the kids overseas. I am going to have to get a direct flight and handcuff us all together. Just kidding about the handcuffs. ;)

I'm not sure what that is. Do tell.

Ooops, I should have asked Steve first. He says that Dieppe and Vimy Ridge are areas near Juno Beach that the Canadians liberated. Hope that is correct. Do you have any word on which tours are the best?
